Highly recommended!! Gracious small inn offering a beautiful step back in time. Each room is uniquely and elegantly furnished, bed very plush and comfortable. Our first floor rooms opened to a lovely private patio. Breakfast might be one of the best I’ve had (Parisian eggs, although the Peach Melba Waffles were hard to turn down), which we enjoyed outside in the courtyard . Afternoon tea was equally delicious. Location is great, can walk to wharfs and area with lots of shops and restaurants. Turned out to be a great time to visit : weather perfect and not crowded. Staff was exceptionally friendly and accommodating, changing our rooms since stairs were challenging for one of our group. I’d gladly come back to Newport just to stay here again . Thank you to everyone at the Francis Malbone House Inn.

We have spent many Labor Day weekends in Newport, the recent several years at the Francis Malbone House. What a special place, charming and beautifully decorated. We feel so at home there, Will, Maryellen, Sue and the staff so welcoming. The location with private parking is perfect and most areas are walkable from there. I'm still thinking about our delicious breakfasts and treats at tea time! Needless to say, we've already booked again for next Labor Day...!

We stayed at the fantastic Francis Malbone Inn for 4 nights over Labor Day weekend. Service and staff were friendly, professional and always willing to help. The Inn is in a premier location on Thames St and close to everything. The full breakfast spread and the lovely afternoon tea served each day just off the courtyard was the highlight of the stay. All foods were hearty and delicious - you could honestly get by just going out for a light dinner each night. We had one of the smallest rooms in the Inn and on the 3rd floor to boot, so I can’t rave about that. It was quite clean and the bed was comfortable, but other than that, the room was just average. The rate is more what I’ll complain about, it was $325 a night and not even a discount for the Monday night stay. I would definitely return, but I think I might pay a little more to get a bit more.

Staff was excellent! Kevin was so helpful at check-in, finding a secure place for my bike, Sue gave me a tour of one of their nearby properties, and the owner was happy to answer all my questions and show me around the main building. The room was cozy, comfortable and spotless, breakfast was delicious and plentiful and served in the courtyard (and I had a perfect warm sunny day to enjoy it!). I only hope the Malbone House has availability when I get back to Newport in October! Thank you for a lovely stay!

This is a must stay at place for Newport. We definitely would go back. Helpful and friendly staff, delicious happy hour and breakfast. The rooms are spacious and unique. Beautiful grounds. Centrally located, easy to walk everywhere.

We were in town for our son's wedding and both families stayed at the Frances Malbone. We took the entire place and it was beyond fabulous! The rooms were impeccable, cleaned early every day and turned down at night with classical music turned on. The breakfast and tea each day were phenomenal and it was a treat each day to see what the offering was going to be. The best food in Newport! Will, MaryEllen and staff made our stay so comfortable we felt like we were at someone's home. Attention to detail is what makes the Frances Malbone so wonderful. A big thanks to Will, MaryEllen and staff for a perfect stay! We will be back!

My husband and I stayed at this spectacular B&B last night and it was amazing!! The owner & the staff, especially MaryEllen & Sue, were so friendly and helpful! Very clean and close to everything! The food was superb as well! We will definitely be coming back next time we are in town!!

First time in Newport and boy did I choose the perfect place to stay. Downside is we're now spoiled. I honestly can't imagine staying any where else on future visits. Very understated facade from the street, but inside are the gems. The owner, staff, room, decor, breakfasts and afternoon tea service, courtyard...all 5 star. All very thoughtfully executed. I'm already planning on us returning next summer.

My husband and I stayed at the Malbone House this past weekend and had such a wonderful time! Will and Maryellen could not have been more warm and accommodating. The House has some beautiful touches that make you feel catapulted back to a grand era in Newport. We stayed in the cottage in the back and had a whole house to ourselves that we shared with one other couple. The breakfasts and afternoon tea were fabulous - what a wonderful chef they have on premises! Maryellen suggested a great new beach area for us to try too and they spent time chatting with us all about the area and what interests we might have. The location is fantastic as it is right on Thames Street but still offers quiet and privacy - especially the beautiful inner courtyard where we ate our meals or read our books late on Sunday afternoon. I could not recommend them highly enough and will sure to be back- especially in the winter when the fireplaces are lit!!

After finding the Malbone House 6 years ago, I would not think of staying anywhere else. The rooms are impeccable and the fabulous breakfast is amazing. Will & staff will make you feel like you’re staying with family (that you like 😊).
