Annual girls trip this year was in Newport Beach. The Villas were the perfect place to stay! Centrally located for activities (eg: beach, Catalina), dining (lots of restaurants close by - not walkable but the Villas offer a local shuttle service), shopping (again, not walkable but a short drive/Uber) and lots of time together in our lovely accomodations.

Celebrated my sister’s birthday and just being together with all our family! The unit was spacious and very nice! The grounds were well kept and the pools were clean. The poolside bar and grill had many choices for all! Another nice thing was Parking my car and jumping on the trolley. We will be back!

We loved this very upscale resort. Our two bedroom unit was spacious and nicely appointed. The pools were lovely and the shuttle to Crystal Cove State Park beach was wonderful. This is a great resort for families and couples. The grounds are very tropical and they are well maintained. We did not eat at the on site restaurant but did shop in the small gift shop, convenience store. A bit pricey but it came in handy for a few items we needed.

We are Platinum Members and always request a top floor. This was not our first time staying at a Villa Type Resort with Marriott. My husband and I along with 2 teen children checked in at the resort. -Noticing that we were not on the top floor grabbed a cart and we quickly realized there wasn’t any elevator up/down. - Had to carry our bags up 2 flights of stairs. We have young healthy boys so it wasn’t a hardship. -After our first night we kindly asked to be moved. The people staying above us liked to make lots of noise between the hours of 10pm and 2am. Walking very heavy, banging, in/out of the sliding door to patio and talking very loudly. Our request was NOT granted. This noise continued every night until we checked out five days later. On that last evening I had to call the front desk at 2:30am for a domestic dispute/disturbance from the people above us. I understand that the hotel cannot take full blame for the noise. However, the insulation between the floors could be much much better....or we could have been moved. This is not high season and they were not at full capacity. - The resort map could’ve been in more detail. - The grounds were beautiful, but getting around would prove to be difficult for a disabled person or/and aging adults. A lot of stairs and hills to get to the main lobby and activities. - Our last evening we cut through the pool to head to our room and ran across a raccoon eating out of the pool trash can. This area is gated and can only be accessed with a hotel key....obviously there was a hole in the fence.

Our room description indicated a balcony room and displayed pictures of an ocean view. This was not the case at all. We had a room in a dungeon with a patio, not balcony, and a view of a temporary green fence incasing a pool under renovation. This is a huge property and we were approximately a 10-15 minute walk to the nearest facility. I called to kindly request a room change/upgrade and was told we would have to be out by 10am and would not be reaccommodated until after 4pm - not very good customer service in my opinion.

MY son and his family joined my wife at I for a 6 day 5 night stay at Newport Coast Villas. We stayed in Villas 4710 & 4711. Villas were clean, private and we all enjoyed good sleep. We went to Disneyland twice and enjoyed our time together. Also drove dwn the coast to Mission San Juan Capistrano. The pools, grounds, rooms and service was perfect. Highly recommend this fine resort!

Since becoming Marriott Vacation Club owners nearly 7 years ago (we bought at an Orlando resort), we've fallen in love with this particular property, so much that we're buying another week so we can have 2 weeks here every year. (As Empty Nesters, we prefer to visit when kids are in school and it's quieter.) We love the area, and this resort is situated in the perfect place in the OC. The property has been updated since we've been going - this was our 5th stay - and all the improvements have been perfect. This time, we were thrilled to see that the old, quite uncomfortable, metal outdoor furniture has been replaced by much more comfortable, more modern pieces. Which is a plus since if you're fortunate to have an ocean view, you will spend a lot of time out on the balcony! We even had an upgrade in the middle of our visit; the old toaster in the kitchen didn't accommodate large pieces of bread (we didn't complain about this) and when we had our housekeeping visit in the middle of our stay, we returned home to find the toaster had been replaced by a newer, more accommodating model! The grounds and buildings are constantly being tended to, which is a sign of a well-cared for property. We also noticed that the La Vista menu has been updated for the better. I'd still prefer to have a nicer restaurant on property, but for a casual, poolside meal, this is perfect. Over the years, the gift shop/coffee bar has also been expanded and updated, and it's a great place to grab coffee or a pastry, or wine and sundries for the unit. The only disappointment here remains the WiFi; it's very slow, very spotty. Since we do have to do some work when we visit, this is a headache. But everything else remains consistently excellent, and again - kudos on the improvements, and we can't wait to return next year!

We stayed here with our grandchildren and can't find enough good things to say about it. The grounds are beautiful. The two bedroom suites are spacious and well cared for. The swimming pools and other facilities are wonderful and not overcrowded and the kid's activities are reasonably priced and well thought out.

I stayed at this hotel with my friend and our two young daughters. The rooms are nicely decorated and clean. The pools are great and pool service was good at the main pool. The main pool is busy but not too much of a “scene”. Lots of kids and families. If you are looking for a quieter experience, the salt water pool is quiet. We had no problem finding a place to sit at either pool and there are plenty of umbrellas.

We are Marriott Vacation Club owners. We have stayed in a few different places but Newport Coast Villa's is by far our favorite location. Every other year we get two units and take all of our kids and grandkids. The staff work it out so the rooms are next to each other so the kids can wander back forth from room to room. The rooms are spacious and great for meals and gathering, the resort has lots to do for young and old, and it's close to everything we love i.e. the beach, restaurants, shopping, events, etc. The whole resort is clean and well fact, we learned this trip, they clean the carpets in each room after each stay. Now that's clean! Our kids look forward to this trip more than any other! We love it!!!!
