Very nice hotel, hotel staff has been very nice during my stays and the rooms have been clean and comfortable. Breakfast is basic and the eating area is not very big. Overall though it is a very nice hotel
We stayed just this past weekend, 8/5-8/7. This was my first stay at Townplace. We were visiting family who lived in the area, and my brother was specifically looking for suites for his big family. We had gone back and forth with hotels in the area but for the location, price and amenities, this fit our requirements. The check in was easy, no fuss and hassle free which I appreciated considering I just drove 8-hrs. The lobby area is very small, 2-person max counter but it does its job as I don't plan on lounging. The woman attending that evening was very accommodating and friendly. Not thinking till after she had already prepped the key cards. I had asked to be close to my brothers room. She found a room, in the same building but opposite end. Which was fine. The refreshments were a lovely treat. My daughters helped themselves to cookies, while my mother and aunt had coffee to warm up with. Our room was better than expected. It was very clean to the eye, updated and comfortable. The 2-bdr suite with kitchen was perfect. I have specific diet, and having a full kitchen was very helpful. The kitchen had all the items for a longer stay, dishes, glass ware, cookware, coffee maker, toaster, etc. All the kitchen items I used including the fridge was very clean. The living space, was clean and comfortable. Furniture has been updated and trendy. There was a dining table which can be very useful for a long stay. The bedrooms were very comfortable, the main bedroom had a tv, desk and dresser and closet. This is where I stayed with my daughters. I worked in the evening so the desk was very helpful. The tv in the room, and FREE internet was great! The other room was little smaller, but perfect for my mother and aunt. This room did not have a tv or dresser. Bathroom, although was small was good enough. Perhaps for 5-women trying to get ready would be a problem but it worked for us. The shower and toilet was separated from the sink area so, one can take a shower while the others used the sink. It was clean, and as the other decor, trendy. Good amount of towels available, and they were soft, and still plush. Breakfast is included in your stay. Consisting of cereals, muffins, toasts, hard boiled eggs, coffee, juice, waffles, and fruit. The place is very small, so maneuvering can be tough. There was only 1-waffle station (make yourself) so there could be a line. I only had the hard boiled egg and was cooked to perfection. My 19-yo daughter did say that the muffins were gross, not sure what that means. My brother and his children (15-6yo) were perfectly fine with it. Gym-this part of the hotel is very dismal. It consist of 1-treadmill, 1-elliptical, 1-stationary bike, and dumbbells. I used the elliptical and its fine. Our overall stay was very comfortable! It was very clean which is number one priority for me. Safe (I saw a security guard in the evening walking around) and close to where I need to be. I would stay here again.
I will never return to stay at this hotel. We booked this hotel because of it's distance to the Fremont Sports Complex. Our family arrived there after 10pm, tired from being at the softball fields most of the day, only to find out our 2 bedroom suites were overbooked. This happened to another family as well. The only solution was to book us 2 separate 1 bdrms, which is very inconvenient as we did not have separate suitcases. It was a long check in, as the employee was starting his shift, and said the previous shift knew they overbooked it and left it for him to figure out. He really did not seem surprised by it. The other room that we were given had a used soap bar and hand towel ???, and the toilet handle did not work as well. This may not always be something that happens, but it happened to us, and we will definitely not return here.
Stayed here for work and unless there is no other hotel available in the vicinity I will not return (and if I do I am bringing my eye covers). I had a 2 bedroom suite. I had the AC cranked but it did not vent into the bedroom well. I eventually got up in the middle of the night and opened the door to the living room (which was cool) and this helped. The main reason why the sleep quality sucked is because each bedroom had a smoke detector above the bed that had a VERY bright green light illuminated and it lightens up the room incredibly. After I was woken by the heat, I was treated to the sounds of a car "street show" with screeching tires and revving engines for about 20 minutes, followed by the pumping bass of loud music coming from outside. The fact that I was sleeping in a hood that had street shows was a bit concerning. I looked in my suitcase for eye covers but did not pack any - my bad. The pillow over my head to block out the light, along with the warm room, made it very difficult to get any sleep. I eventually fell back to sleep and my "alarm" was noisy gardeners and leaf blowers at 7 am. The (free) breakfast was good with hard boiled eggs, fresh fruit, yogurt, cereals, pastries (and other stuff), the parking was easy, and both the evening and morning staff were friendly, but this does not make up for the lack of sleep. Marriott should switch out the model of their smoke detectors.
Excellent Hotel, very nice and super friendly staff at the reception (Thanks to Tim for the restaurent recommendation). Rooms are super big, everything there what you need, clean, very low noise level. Breakfast area could be a little bit bigger, not too much space there. Good location in case you've to go to Tesla or some of the other hip Companies in this area.
I love to travel and always stay at Marriott hotels. So far this has the rudest and impatient staff ever. I know the Marriott standards and one of them is listening to guest problems and concerns but not this time. I was on the phone with the guest services and that was the rudest person i've ever talked to. He is impatient and he did not listen to my concern. He keeps on cutting me off while i talk and change his tone of voice as if he is irritated. I would still recommend Marriott hotels but i hope they improve their staff. Thanks
Towne Place Suites by Marriott in Newark is a great place to stay for a long or short stay. The entire staff is very warm and friendly. They take every possible effort to make your stay a happy and comfortable one. You may be in for a few pleasant surprises esp. if you are on a long stay - which I was, but I should leave room for surprises :) . The location is also just perfect, for any thing that you might need is right in the vicinity. With competing hotels in the neighborhood, this one scores high on the service, cleanliness, security, and facilities.
we loved our stay! I was very impressed that the room included all the need supplies, the kitchenette had coffee, creamer, sugar, all utensils everything needed if you wanted to eat in. I had my grandson with me, who of course wanted goodies. We went to the lobby where there were fresh baked cookies & coffee or tea. they also have a sitting area if you need to do business...very convenient. if you have forgotten something, they even have a nice supply of toiletries. The team behind the counters were also amazing. always helpful and smiling. I loved this hotel, and so did my grandson. We travel to this area often, so I will be booking again!!
Great value, spacious and clean. Two bedroom suite worked very well for kids as well as Mom & Dad. Facilities are well kept and light breakfast hit the mark for a day a sightseeing and visiting family. Will definitely pin this location for future stays.
My husband is in town for business and The Townplace Suites has been remarkable! Everyone that workers here makes you feel very welcome and can't do enough to make your stay more pleasant. Our suite is clean, has a small kitchen with a full size fridge, stove and oven, micro wave and dishes. House keeping has been wonderful and comes in everyday. The curtains are the "blackout" type so you can sleep in and the climate control is quiet. The only draw back is the construction going on but it is not the Townplace Suites construction, condominiums are being built on the adjacent property ask for a room that it not close as they start at 7:00am Monday-Saturday. We have stayed at other properties in the area and this is by far the best.
