Residence Inn by Marriott Newark Silicon Valley

Just a regular Residence Inn. Spacious rooms, decent amenities and furniture. What made this review poor is upon entering our room, people were still inside! This is poor coordination between housekeeping and front desk! Other than that, just a decent, regular hotel. Nothing special.

Terrible front desk staff. Aisha front desk staff checked us into a room that was different from our reservation. We reserved a 2 bedroom suite, we were checked into a one bedroom. She did not inform us of a change in reservation until we came back to inform her. Angela, a very rude trainee on duty, told us on informing her of the discomfort with the room, that "she really cared less about our comfort" and that "it was none of her business". She was extremely rude. I asked for her manager and she said she was the only staff available at around 8PM. A "trainee" for that matter!! I was very disappointed Marriott would have a trainee as a senior staff on a busy weekend as labor day. I am very disgruntled. I will never step my feet here again.

This is a nice facility if you are looking for a long term stay or a single night. The rooms are modern and clean and staff is very friendly as with most Marriott locations. The pool is small, but this is not really a vacation city and is geared more towards business. The breakfast in the morning is fresh and has a wide variety. Restaurants in the near by plaza are good and have a large variety. Safeway is near by and great for filling the included in room fridge.

I wanted to projectile vomit when I found a used band aid in my bed. I even took a photo and showed it to the manager. They said I am a "F" liar. They went in the room and did not find the band aid so i am a liar. Also there was no hot water in the room. I wanted a refund and they said no way.

The hotel is clean and and well decorated. The building is not very new but the rooms have been renovated nicely. The receptionist Timothy who helped us with the check in was very friendly. The crib for the baby did not seem very comfortable so our baby slept with us. Breakfast had good variety. I recommend this hotel.

Stayed here with family for a fun short weekend and it was very relaxing. The pool area was fun and the breakfast was pretty good. There are some nice quaint places to eat around the hotel. There is a Chipotle within walking distance if you get a craving. Nice stay......also good for large families.

OK for a Residence inn, Breakfast wasnt that great, nothing special but i was more interested in the room and that worked for me, I do wish the beds were bigger. Nice size kitchen and i love how the TV can be adjusted to face the sitting area or the sleeping area.

I am a loyal Marriott member and am starting to question it. Stayed at this property for a few days for a convention. The last night we were there a loud group in the pool area kept us up most of the night. We call the front desk in the wee hours of the morning and all the security guard did was have them turn the radio off. Talked to the supervisor in the morning and she said there isn't anything she can do but would have the manager call us the next day. We didn't receive a call so we emailed the corporate site and the just gave a candid answer. We have a lot of great Marriott experiences but this one was very disappointing.

I am a little bit severe with the hotel. I was hesitating to put 3 stars as I was satisfied by the room and the friendly staff, but maybe because of bad luck we couldn't enjoy at all the outdoor facilities. We wanted to enjoy the swimming pool but it was totally crowded, mainly by people not staying at the hotel.... a couple of guests were organizing a barbecue and invited of their family (big family). It was even not possible to find a seat around the swimming pool. Hopefully the nice young man at the front desk told us to ask the hotel next door to use the swimming pool... Otherwise the room was pretty big and comfortable. The living room part is pretty nice to work or relax. Everything was clean!

We were so excited about staying here. We got a room near our friends and we thoroughly enjoyed a weekend away from home, yet close to home. The food here is amazing and the service is exceptional. We highly recommend checking out this place.
