We spent the Easter weekend at the Residence Inn while in the Bay area visiting friends. The hotel is well maintained and includes a reasonable complimentary breakfast each morning. Check in was quick and friendly and our room was large and perfectly clean and well maintained. All staff we encountered during our three day stay were very friendly. The only negative was their complimentary wifi. It is effectively useless. Connecting is easy enough however, once online that band width is so slow it is effectively useless. They offer a premium service for $5.95 a day but I didn't try it so I don't know how effective it was. I used my cellular data for the limited need i had that weekend. Don't advertise free wifi and then allow it to be so poor that you force guests to pay for their premium service. Just advertise a charge for wifi and provide a good service. This way guests know what to expect and aren't left with a negative feeling that have been cheated out of a service they were offered. That being said, our experience was overall positive and we would stay at this hotel again.

It was a pleasant stay for three of us for a weekend at Residence Inn, Newark. The suite room for three was reasonably priced and turned out to be excellent. There was a room and a comfortable sofa bed in the "hall" room that could comfortably accommodate three of us. There were two TVs one in the hall and other in the room. The presence of a small kitchen was a bonus indeed. The room and bathroom was very clean. The room had two tables which could double up to get any necessary work done for someone. Our room on the second floor faced east and it was a good morning view for both of the days we stayed here. The breakfast spread was really good on both the days we stayed although on Sunday the crowd was really big so we had to wait a few minutes to get a free table. They had an impressive assortment of items to choose from including biscuits and gravy, scrambled eggs, breads, bagels, waffles and the likes. The WiFi had good speed and my wife used it to get some work done during the stay without any hitches. The location of this property right next to CA 84 and the presence of restaurants and grocery stores nearby make this hotel an excellent choice.

Didn't realize that there was a Residence Inn in this area that is accessible to major freeways in the Bay Area and is in an area that is near restaurants and stores. I'm glad that they had room rates that was VERY reasonable for us to consider staying here. A quiet place with wifi and FREE hot breakfast. It was easy for us to get on to the freeway to either head down to San Jose or head up to San Francisco and Napa Valley. The area had a Safeway, gasoline stations, a CVS and several fast food restaurant. The staff was very friendly throughout our stay. Will definitely consider staying here again for our next visit to the Bay Area.

I take my reviews on TripAdvisor very seriously. I am always compelled to be forthright and objective. As for my stay at the Residence Inn Newark Silicon Valley I must tell the good and the not so good. This is a clean inviting hotel that has been well maintained. My room was clean and the furnishings in the room were up to the standard I have come to expect from a Residence Inn. The breakfast service in the morning was very nice. The attendants keep the buffet fresh, clean and well stocked. They were very friendly and were there to help all the guests enjoy a nice breakfast. The not so good was a communication issue. Upon checking into my room, I checked the TV. It is my custom to always turn the TV on when first entering my hotel room. I am usually checking for ESPN, but on this occasion CBS and FOX. I am a life long football fan and the NFL Conference Championships were on the next day. Well, CBS was NOT working. So, long story short; after many visits to the Front Desk only to be told they would get to the problem right away I spoke with the manager. It was then explained that there was a problem with the TV feed to the hotel and that is why CBS was not working properly. I spent a full 24 hours seeking an answer to this issue, it was frustrating to learn that this answer was available sooner. I am also obligated to report that the WIFI was very weak. My room was on the top floor (6th).

My business partners and I stayed at the Residence Inn for a total of 21 days, spending approximately $6,000 with them. The staff was very friendly and the room was very nice. While parked in their parking lot, our vehicle was broken into (smashed the passenger side window) and my equipment was stolen. I went to the front desk to report the incident. The manager was within view just across the room in the dining area. The girl went and talked to him, returned, gave me an 'incident report' to fill out, and that was it. The manager never even came over to talk with me. When the auto glass company came out to fix the window they said this is not uncommon for this area. I was speaking with another guest who was staying at the hotel for about 2 months while his home was being renovate. He said he placed a bike outside, chained up and locked, and that it had gotten stolen. In his case, the management had 'warned' him not to put his bike out there. This tells me they are aware of the theft problem and crime problem. When I inquired as to whether the hotel at least had security cameras I was informed they did not have security cameras covering the parking lot. As I said, the hotel was very nice and the people were nice as well. The manager handled this very poorly and as I said, never even came to talk to us about the theft. I watched as he just continued wandering around the dining area.

While the hotel could probably use an update, it wasn’t too bad. My maid did a great job and my room was consistently clean. The staff was very friendly and very helpful. Breakfasts were good with a nice variety. The oatmeal was awesome! The only thing I didn’t like was the STUPID tv remote control. Just give me the one that comes with the tv, not a third party POS. Also, tv channels limited which made an extended stay not as enjoyable since there really isn’t too much to do in the immediate are.

But most of them seems to be renovated. Location is close to highways and parking free. Breakfast is good when you are early but several items were empty at 8am and have not been refilled. Prices for Softdrinks higher than in most other Residence Inns. Fitness area old and small.

I travel for my work and got a room from Sunday, October 29 until November 1. Starting with the first night of my arrival, there was hair in the bathroom and the kitchen was dirty. I called the front desk and spoke to the staff. They said they would leave a message for the manager Gustavo in the morning to call me. In the morning and all day, I received no call. I came home on Monday after a long day at work to find hair all over my kitchen - long hair. It was really disgusting. A staff member Mariana moved me to another room and took pictures. Again she said that Gustavo would call me. Now we are on Tuesday. I call both Gustavo and Angie the general manager and not response. I even speak to the hair of cleaning Brisa to tell her the issues. I come home tonight Tuesday to find again hair in the bathroom and an old pillow cover left on the bed stand. This place no only is dirty, but it has horrible customer service.

Just a regular Residence Inn. Spacious rooms, decent amenities and furniture. What made this review poor is upon entering our room, people were still inside! This is poor coordination between housekeeping and front desk! Other than that, just a decent, regular hotel. Nothing special.

Terrible front desk staff. Aisha front desk staff checked us into a room that was different from our reservation. We reserved a 2 bedroom suite, we were checked into a one bedroom. She did not inform us of a change in reservation until we came back to inform her. Angela, a very rude trainee on duty, told us on informing her of the discomfort with the room, that "she really cared less about our comfort" and that "it was none of her business". She was extremely rude. I asked for her manager and she said she was the only staff available at around 8PM. A "trainee" for that matter!! I was very disappointed Marriott would have a trainee as a senior staff on a busy weekend as labor day. I am very disgruntled. I will never step my feet here again.
