Wow...the photos are very misleading! The hotel is tiny and the rooms are old and run down. My room was dirty, musty and small as heck! The front desk staff was amazing though...

Great place love the reuse of a Wonderful building !!!!!!!!

The hotel was nice and the staff very friendly. The location was very good. Very quite hotel, excellent to sleep. The only think I didn't like is that there are no safebox and fridge in the room.

Very comfortable sleeping. Rooms are quiet. The location is close to the French Quarter, Riverwalk and Harrahs Casino. Shower pressure in the three rooms we stayed in were all poor and there is no refrigerator or microwaves in the room.

The Whitney is a perfect location to walk to the St. Charles street car, to the French Quarter, to the WW II museum and warehouse districts. It's also a couple blocks to Magazine St. to catch the bus to go to the Garden District if you want a quicker trip than the street car. The main floor is elegant with the teller windows, the columns and ornate plaster work of the original bank building. The room was clean and the beds comfortable. Our King suite was unexpectedly a king bed and a double bed instead of a couch area and the room only had one window, making it feel rather dark. But there were two tvs inside two armoires, so plenty of drawer space. Only one armoire had hanging space. The bathroom was a good size, and the towels were thicker than we've had before. The hotel was very quiet and there was minimal street noise in our particular suite. Housekeeping did a nice job of cleaning every day. This is not a huge hotel with a big lobby, lots of activity, or a big exercise room--and we liked that. There is a small restaurant inside that is not owned by the hotel (though you wouldn't know that until you ask to put your bill on your room). There are coffee makers in the room but the hotel does not have brewed coffee available in the lobby.

Awesome old historic bank building converted into a hotel. Great place to stay!

for the price, great. Would go back to hotel if I went to New Orleans. Very close to everything..

The Wyndham is located in a very good spot for access to multiple sight-seeing areas. We stayed for 5 days and did not plan to rent a car, and the Wyndham's location helped make this possible. There are no real amenities in the hotel- (no pool, gym, continental breakfast, business area, etc.) so those were a little missed. The rooms were decent and comfortable, but definitely could use a serious upgrade. There are mismatching carpets, peeling wallpaper, and worn (if not broken) furniture in the rooms. The restaurant off the lobby is not very inviting and never busy. Also, the hotel provides wireless, but when linking up, the page says your room will be charged. We called the front desk and they just said to click okay, there is no charge. This was a little confusing and should have been posted for easier customer use. Overall, we had a fine stay, but will probably try something different next time.

Great value. Great location. Daily parking is a little high compared to other options in the area, but over all I was really happy with my stay.

The hotel was great, good location, near to everything. Enjoyed the night life, the casino, and Bourbon Street. Due to the heavy rain, the nights could have been better, But, it was FUN. The shopping and dining was great.

Ther girls at ther lobby desk were friendly and accomadating however wer booked a room for a guarantee king bed non smoking room and instead got a room with two full size bedsnt that had sheets with holes in them. There was duct tape on the windows and the room smelled of smoke. The yin wouldn't drain when taking a shower and the t.v. was ancient. Very dissatisfied.

Pros: The location was very convenient to everything - Bourbon Street, the museums, the Riverwalk, the mall and Harrah's; the room was clean and the amenities were very nice; the staff was polite and accommodating; and the hotel was quiet, a cozy atmosphere for couples. Cons: Both the lobby and entrance were not inviting and needs upgrading. It also had an old, drafty smell. There needs to be an attendant outside (bellman) on duty at all times because it was a little creepy coming in at night. The fitness room needs a lot of improvement - none of the machines worked properly. There were many missing equipment parts and no free weights. The water pressure in the bathroom was low. The biggest negative was the fact that although we paid for the room in advance (online), the person at the front desk took our credit card number for incidentals but failed to inform us that there was going to be a $75 hold placed on the card for 72 or more hours. She specifically said that there would NOT be charges applied to the card if we did not make any additional hotel purchases (which we DID NOT). Its been 72 hours and the hold is still on my card.

Friendly staff

Overall I definitely enjoyed my stay at this hotel. Its smaller than the other hotels in the area which gave it a quieter and cozier feeling. It has valet parking, a professional staff, a restaurant/diner, and the room was clean and comfortable. I stayed at the Ambassador (which is walking distance away) the previous year and had a bad experience for the most part, not to mention I payed almost twice as much as what I payed to stay at the Whitney Wyndham.

We stayed at The Whitney for a conference at the convention center. The hotel was clean, comfortable and very friendly staff. The hotel was just blocks from everything. The room had all new bedding and an updated room. Loved it and would stay there again.

I was in New Orleans for a conference and was excited that the Whitney Wynham was in the area. I was close enough to the Convention Center that I could walk over and also close to all the attraction that make New Orleans famous for. The only negative about the place was that there was no pool available considering the weather and there was no shuttle bus to the Convention Center. Other than that it was a good experience to have

Spent most of my time doing business related stuff. The hotel was within walking distance of many great restaurants and is only a few blocks from the famous night life on Bourbon St. The Airport Shuttle service from MSY stops here (a pay-for service). Hotel staff wasn't always helpful with information but certainly quite courteous and willing. My room (King Single) was clean and comfortable, albeit small. TV in room was old, but I didn't really care.

The hotel was pretty nice. The only thing is, they didn't provide free breakfast, which usually hotels give free breakfast for customers. The service was pretty good though, the room was cleaned everyday.

Great historical hotel with wonderful people there to help with whatever I needed. The food was excellent in their cafe downstairs. The employees were especially nice with a welcome home feel. The only thing missing was a swimming pool. Very enjoyable stay.

When called ahead to arrange some accomodations for my fiance's birthday (cake, flowers, delivered to the room) was told there was no room service and was given the telephone for local florist and the restuarant didnt do anything for birthdays. Day one there was no hot water. The building engineer came quickly and left and returned again and had to adjust the hot water knob. Hot water in abundance. The negatives were: the room was small and the television had few channels and remote didnt work. The bathtub could have been cleaner. Lastly, couldnt see outside the window to know if it was raining or not. The positives: walking distance to the French Quarter. The place was very quiet even though was told the all rooms were fully booked. Stayed at better hotels for less, but I guess location is everything.
