After many trips to New Orleans, we decided to stay outside the French Quarter. The property was walkable to everything and had comfortable beds. THAT'S ALL. The property is listed as having luxiurious rooms. It did not. The room was very dark and when we opened the dusty curtains, our view was rooftop heating/cooling equipment, cables, and a stone wall. The mini fridge was off and took nearly a day to get cold (we stayed 4 days). There was no microwave. No room phone. No handsoap. When I asked for handsoap, it was brought to us in a shampoo bottle, but I was assured it was indeed handsoap inside. To top it off, on Saturday night of our stay, the fire alarm went off at 1am!! My 12yr old daughter, my husband and I, along with all of the other guests at the hotel rushed out of the hotel emergency exits. We all waited outside on the street in our pajamas. Then we were told by an exterminator (orkin) that we could go back in. No explanation. No apologies for the inconvenience. Nothing! Not even the next day. When I spoke to KASA (the 3rd party that runs the place) they had no idea the hotel was evacuated. Just a terrible experience. For the price of our stay, it was ridiculous. No ammentities. Lack of safety. No communication. Dirty. Old. We will stick to staying in the French Quarter.
