The room was small but clean. For the price, it was an excellent value. The best part of the hotel is the staff. All were so kind and accommodating but genuine, not forced. I would recommend this to people that appreciate and recognize the importance of customer service.
There are NO drawers of any kind. The room was dirty. Fitted with cheap fixtures. Security is non-existant . On the last night a man wandered up the 3 flights of stairs to our room and kicked in the door as we were sleeping. He wasn't even detained for the police. The cards hanging asked us to go 3 days without clean towels. To save the environment. No thanks. Never again. No microwave, coffee maker, fridge ,no tv remote. Had to stand on the bed to work a ceiling fan. Uh wow!
Over all great experience. Centrally located to all attractions. Yet far enough to get a good night rest. The room was small but cozy. Only problem was the uncomfortable bed. House keeping needs a class on how to make a bed, very sloppy.
We spent 5 nights there over Quarter Fest. Didn't like the room when we first checked in, but was told there was no upgrade available. By our second day there the room had grown on us and we were happy. Hotel rooms are very small. We had one accessible electrical outlet outside of bathroom. Staff (particularly Eric) is really helpful and accommodating. We are already looking at going back for the festival and staying at the Royal again.
Nice all around hotel. Excellent price, alittle on the small size but doable. My main issue was that they don't have a elevator nor is it on the website that they don't have one. For someone that has issues with climbing 5 days here was rough. Other than that I would stay here again. The staff here was excellent.
The Staff was very friendly & helpful. I would stay there again
The petite room was big enough for me and my boyfriend and all our things. We enjoyed the delicious muffins every morning and free waters while walking around town. The staff was helpful and gave great advice for what to do around town. Only downside was our shower was missing a door. They took longer than you would expect to fix this, but that was the only issue. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a place to stay in the French Quarter
Facilty run down and filthy. Porter nice, but Staff disinterested.
This hotel has a lot of stairs, which I really didn't care for. The rooms were pretty clean. It takes forever for the hot water to come in the room. But other than that, I had a great stay.
It was a nice boutique hotel but as I arrived I was asked to pay a deposit . I'm in my 40's and you have my credit card . I thought it was ridiculous to ask for a deposit . I will not stay at any of the hotels in this collection . Really classless to ask for a deposit. I'm a local and work in the hospitality industry.
Great hotel! Proximity close to Bourbon Street, French Market , Frenchmen street and Canal Street. All of these attractions were walking distance!staff members very helpful, friendly and accommodating. They all went the extra mile to ensure a pleasant stay. Continental breakfast not so much of a continental breakfast but did the job to hold us off until we had a good lunch! No elevators but it's only three floors and bell man assists with luggage. Would definitely stay here again!
Great staffs and warm welcoming. Nice and affortable place to stay.
Comfortable renovated hotel 2 blocks from the heart of the French quarter. Old is new again
Hotel Royal provided a nice experience for our stay in New Orleans. We visited Burbon Street several times, and the hotel was literally about 6-7 min away, which eliminated the need for Uber or other transportation. The street noise wasn't bad considering how close it is to everything. Parking is reasonable at $25/night (with in/out privileges), although you do need to check with the front desk to make sure that there is space available. The layout of the hotel is very cute, with a nice courtyard in the middle, but be prepared to walk up and down a few sets of stairs. The bellhop was fantastic though and showed us to our room as well as helped with our bags. Our favorite part was definitely the balcony in the room- there was a large window that you lifted to step out onto the balcony! So unique! The room was pretty clean (not spotless) but a bit outdated. There was a large crack in the sink and a few other cosmetic imperfections. The beds and pillows were very comfortable, and the room was about average in size. Overall, we were very pleased with our stay, and would stay here again.
Terribly misrepresented. No elevator. Not handicap accessible at all. Never again!
All the reviews are correct - no elevator, no parking, odd bathroom layout, etc. It is in the heart of the French Quarter, one street over from Bourbon, so for some, a good location, but there are many hotels in the area, so I would recommend researching all hotels, and factor in having to pay for parking ($27 per day!). If I were to return to NOLA, I would search to stay elsewhere. The staff were very friendly and helpful, carrying luggage with a smile! The room, left a lot to be desired. Being on the third floor and walk up only, I am sure the housekeeping doesn't give the room the cleaning or attention it could otherwise have. No chair in room to use with the table/desk in the room, overhead fan didn't work (or we couldn't figure it out), water from shower head sprayed all over floor because of funky shower door design (like other reviewers commented on), or lack of, stopper in tub broken, so even if I was interested in using the jet tub, I would not have been able to. We stayed in room 14, queen bed. Quirky hotel, and if you like that, okay deal.
I expected much more for the money they charge. The location is excellent though and the staff are extremely nice and accommodating. I would recommend this to a friend with some qualifiers such as if noise is an issue ask for a room facing the interior courtyard. Also if internet is a must, you should check if the signal reaches the room.
The staff are nice and the rooms are clean. The only thing I didn't like was the fact that the walls are thin. I could hear my neighbors talking, which was annoying.
Stayed here before. Nice modern hotel with an excellent location.
