Stayed at the Chalmette HIE on Wed 05/01/2019 as a 10K point reward night. Hotel is on main highway near gas, food a Walmart and some empty lots. Signage identifying the hotel is good. This young hotel has the "new design" lobby, room and bathroom layouts. Check in was fast and friendly with a helpful staff member that offered restaurant recommendations. Two working elevators take you upstairs where we were impressed with the hallway width, cleanliness and lighting. A proximity door badge reader lets you into the room. No issues with door alignment or locking hardware. Our 2Q suite was large, clean, and comfortable. Both suitcases fit on the luggage shelf. All expected furniture and amenities were available in the room. Two outlets were available between the beds. WIFI via IHG Connect had easy access, was stable and had good signal strength. Beds were comfortable with clean sheets and 4 pillows. Plenty of clean towels in the new IHG design bathroom, but we did notice that the bathroom floor was not mopped and clearly showed footprints from previous guests. Early coffee was available. Later we grabbed a bagle to eat in the room. All in all, this was a good stay.

We stayed here for 5 nights while visiting family. The facility is new so fresh and clean is expected. Our room was very comfortable—the A/C was quiet and efficient, comfy bed, roomy bathroom counters, large TV, superior breakfast and friendly staff. Very enjoyable stay.

This hotel was very nice and it could improve a bit. Pros: Breakfast was good and hot, lobby was pretty and clean, morning front desk clerk (Annalisa) was extremely friendly, the hotel was very quiet, and the hotel is close proximity to Walmart. Cons: The first room we went up to was not cleaned and smelled of bug spray, so we had to choose a different room. The pool is not open since we went in April of this year. Overall, I would stay here again. They should definitely improve on making sure the rooms are ready.

Hotel is only one year old. Loved the modern room. Shower only ... no tub. Place to rest foot in shower. Shower was great. They had the high toliets with quick flush. It was not a handicap room... Because of the high toliets ( which we installed in our home) I do not feel like I am sitting on the floor. Mattress has a full zipped mattress cover on it. Which all hotels should have. The hotel clerk was awesome. Annalisa was very caring of one's needs. Wonderful personality. All hotel clerks should be like her. Plenty of lighting in room and temps were very comfortable. They have hooks in the room to put coats or clothes on. Love it. I did not find anything wrong with this hotel. I would totally recommend it to anyone who likes comfort and clean.

Located in a decent area but getting there you have to travel through an area that you may not want to stop or break down. The hotel appears newer and seems decent enough, nice pool. Upon getting in to our room the first thing I notice is that the table between the two beds still has rings from cups and coffee drippings all over the table. It wasn't even just a spot, upon further inspection I see that the whole table had never even been wiped clean. That makes me then feel like how clean is the whole room?! I immediately had to get a wet wash cloth and scrub the bedside table to remove the coffee and other stains and also wiped down other surfaces just in cse they too were not cleaned. I dont know about you but when I first walk in a hotel room and the first thing I see is filthy, the whole room "appears" dirty. The beds seemed ok and the bathroom appeared cleaned (I didnt see any dirt like the table). The room was just that, a room with two beds and a bathroom. It was over $200 for the room and Ive stayed at a lot nicer Holiday Inns for a lot less money. We were to stay the next night as well but after what I saw and the room just didnt feel comfortable so we checked out the next morning and moved to another CLEAN hotel. I will say there is a Walmart right by the hotel and a couple of fast food restaurants-very convenient. Also the young lady who checked us in was VERY nice!!!

The hotel was very clean. Breakfast was good, we had to ask about the ingredients for some things and staff were very helpful about this. Reception staff were all friendly and welcoming (especially the lady who was on duty Halloween evening, she was lovely, sorry I can’t remember her name!). Only thing I would say is that it would be good to have reusable cutlery, plates and cups instead of the throwaway kind. I know a lot of hotels have the throwaway type, but I really don’t like to see all the waste that creates.

Mybrother, his wife, and I stayed here for four days for NYE. I really wanted to give this hotel 5 stars. Two things kept me from doing that. The walls are paper thin. If one of your neighbors are loud you WILL hear them. The second thing is their parking is subpar. Twice we came in at night and there was no where to park. With that being said, I would stay here again. It was only a 15-20 minute drive from the French Quarter. The rooms were very nice. The bed was comfortable. The shower was so awesome I never wanted to get out. The breakfast is a full breakfast. A wide variety of food to choose from. They keep the breakfast area stocked right up until 9:30. All the staff I interacted with were friendly.

The experience was great, we were in four people, three adults and one teenager, we got a double bed room. The whole place is big, the bedroom and the bathroom, the bed is really good and the shower too. We only had a problem with room service, the ladies were not coming for some reason, but we told the people in the reception and they told us that that they would fix that, which happened :) Everyone was really kind and helpful! The breakfast was great, but they should change it during the week because everyday is exactly the same, and add more fruits!! I was so happy that they had soy milk, thank you for that!!

And am happy to report all is much better. Place is in good shape but toilet loose and leaking in the room. Beds are comfortable and room size is nice. Common area well maintained. Staff much better with some experience under their belt. Decent place to stay in the parish.

Me and a friend reserve a double bed room through Expedia. Room 201. When we checked in they only had a 1 king bed room available. Mind you it was for NYE/Sugar Bowel weekend. We had two more friends coming to stay with us. We thought it would be a nice stay since it’s a fairly new hotel. Boy was we wrong management did not won’t to work with getting our room changed. Until the next day we called about seeing a roach. That’s when management said they had a room with double beds. We wasted almost our whole day waiting for Assistant manager: Tiffany to get the new room ready. Before we left to go eat we asked about an update on the room change. They were short staffed and waiting for towels to be cleaned. Once we got back management was gone and now we have 4 girls in a 1 king bed room. The Holiday inn express in Chalmette la. Manager: Don is the worse mismanaged hotel to choose to stay at. We still didn’t get a full refund for there mishap!
