Hotel has a hip vibe to it, but is looking a little tired and rooms become gloomy after a few days. Staff have become a little too laid back with bell hops hard to pick from kids on the street. However, it would be a great hotel for a weekend, well situated and band and bar good.

Great place to stay if you want to experience New Orleans without being in the French Quarter. Free shows, roof top and amenities sets this hotel apart from others.

Branding is usually a plus, but in this case, it might not work out in The Ace’s favor. I stayed at two charming local hotels in New Orleans before coming here, so The Ace felt a bit underwhelming. That’s not to say it was bad; the hotel simply lacked a bit of flavor. Check-in was prompt and friendly. If you know the vibe this hotel goes for, rest assured that it delivers in spades. Room felt spacious and welcoming if slightly cookie-cutter in its design. SMEG fridge, and plentiful minibar if you partake. Comfortable amenities including a place to lounge and a work area. Roomy bath, though my room only had a stand-up shower. Evening in the lobby was busy with a hip crowd of all ages, but not overly loud or overwhelming. Check-out is at noon, which is a plus if you like to sleep in late or lounge in your room. Certain areas of the hotel are a bit rundown and could use an upgrade. Checkout was courteous and a breeze. If you love the Ace brand, stay here. If you want more of a local curated feel, go elsewhere.  Rating: 8.1 out of 10

Great atmosphere. Great bar/restaurant and rooftop pool. Wish the room had a coffee maker.

Very cool decor and overall vibe. Proximity to Superdome was great, staff was courteous. Coffee shop was nice, but would’ve liked to have had coffee in the room. There was a ton of alcohol available in the room, which is cool. Room was not very clean, large hairball in the shower & and toilet had some crud. Floor needed to be swept.

The Alto club and rooftop pool were nice. The staff were helpful and knowledgeable. The food in both the seafood and Italian food restaurants were good.

Great interior design. Staff was very helpful and engaged.

It’s an interesting place. Obviously very stylish. The rooms are incredibly small. The air conditioner struggled to keep the room cool. The bathroom was nice and everything looks great- it’s a good choice if you value style over comfort. The location is wonderful. Definitely mixed feelings in this place.

Great restaurant. Cool, edgy property. Don’t like the valet parking situation with no driveway. Forces you to unload while in the street.

Overall pretty good. A fun place. Restaurant service was poor - indifferent. Had three meals there and it was the same each time. A late evening order had an insect in it. I was told “it’s NOLA and we have bugs”. They didn’t comp my drink or anything. Never experienced that before.

My family LOVES this hotel. It's in the perfect location downtown (a block off St Charles so perfect for Mardi Gras) and the kids love the rooftop pool (often to the chagrin of the hipsters just trying to grab a drink and meet other single hipsters). This is why we just stayed again for Jazzfest and pretty much have to stay here every time we go back to New Orleans (which we do 3-4 times/year).

Live music was a big plus. The staff was very courteous.

The room was dark, sparse, and depressing. The first night of my stay, I had to call the front desk 3 times to get someone to come up and exchange out the TV remote, which wasn’t working. Finally, we were gone from the room from 9am until pm, and housekeeping still had not services the room. When I called the front desk they said they have until 5pm to service rooms, I thought that was ridiculous.

Water pressure was terrible! Floors were disgustingly dirty!! Josephine Estelle restaurant was tasteless and disappointing!!! By the way, I don’t complain much and the room was musty and humid! We won’t be back...

We have been overcharged hundreds of dollars on our credit card by. The hotel has refused to return calls after saying they would review our case. What a shame a class place is so poorly managed.

The rooftop pool and bar area beautiful and relaxing.

Best experience staying in NOLA so far. Staff amazing, room so comfortable and stylish. Loved it.

Room is beautiful but smelled a but musty. The water was off completely for a few hours at night. Toilets did not flush during this time. Hotel staff knows of this, blame city and does not warn guests.
