We had a superb stay. The breakfast was wonderful. This inn is located on the Guadalupe River three miles from downtown. It is in a residential setting and within a mile walk we must have seen 50 deer, both does and large bucks. Thanks to Connie and Romero.
We fell in love with this B&B. We stayed in the Texan room and loved it. The room was nice and clean, very spacious, the bed and sheets were comfortable. The property grounds are very well kept. The pool is nice, it also has access to the river. They have an amazing staff. A million thanks to Britt and Cody for making our stay the best. The breakfasts were delicious, and we appreciated the tips on where to go float the river, restaurants, etc. We felt like we found our home away from home. It was nice and quiet and relaxing, yet just a mile away from downtown Gruene. We just left and cannot wait to come back! See you soon I hope! This place is about a mile from downtown gruene, so I highly recommend taking an uber or your car into town. It is a dark road to walk at night and there is a steep hill.
Our eight visit and we are already looking forward to our trip next year. Highly recommended! Good atmosphere, clean rooms, good food, fantastic location, lots to do. Thanks for another fantastic weekend.
Loved the location and the breakfast, but that was about it. When they tell you to email them if you will be early, they mean it. We showed up an hour early in our haste to get out of town and showed up in the rain. They weren’t there. When they showed up we got a very cold reception. Room decor very outdated. No restocking of coffee or water the 2 days we were there. It was quiet and the other guest were very nice, but we won’t be going back.
I know the majority of reviews are very positive but our recent stay (Jun 4-5) was not enjoyable. We stayed in the Lilycott Garden Cottage for $240 a night. This cottage has an A/C window unit that was so loud we had to use ear plugs to sleep. The bathroom does not have A/C vents, so it was very warm not getting any A/C. The carpet look soiled and not very clean. For oldies, to get to the cottage there are steep stairs to climb or go down.
My husband and I came from Austin for a quick getaway. Saw a show at Gruene Hall and stayed one night at Lamb's Rest Inn. Our bed was so comfortable! (Please tell me what pillows you use!) And the sheets impossibly soft. Breakfast was tasty and we enjoyed conversations with our fellow diners. But the best part was relaxing on the lower deck, watching the turtles and birds as the occasional kayaker came by. (And never got one mosquito bite!) Only regret was not staying longer so we could enjoy the beautiful pool. We will be back!
Stayed at Lambs Rest on the recommendation of a family member - and I'm so glad I did. The accommodations were wonderful, and the breakfasts were amazing. The owners are so friendly and hospitable - they even accommodated my dietary restrictions! From the time I arrived, I was able to relax in beautiful and peaceful surroundings. I highly recommend Lambs Rest Inn!
We stayed at Lamb's Rest Inn to celebrate our 25th Anniversary. From the moment we arrived, we loved the peaceful atmosphere and beautifully landcaped grounds. Connie and Ramiro have thought of every ammenity to make you feel comfortable. We loved joining the other guests for a delicious, gourmet breakfast. Their suggestions for fun and dining during the day were absolutely on point. In the evening, we bought wine in nearby Gruene, and enjoyed it out on the deck overlooking the Guadalupe River. We give Lamb's Rest Inn our highest B&B recommendation.
Our stay at the inn was magical. Four generations of my family relaxing and enjoying the beautiful accommodations, gardens, and view of the Guadalupe. Connie and Ramiro went above and beyond to make our stay as comfortable as possible. We’ll definitely cherish the memories made at the Lamb’s Rest Inn. PS: Breakfast was delicious both days!
I brought my wife here for her birthday and it was the most romantic, serene experience ever. Being an obviously Christian run place I was admittedly nervous as we are a pagan LGBT couple. Those nerves were unfounded. Our hosts were super nice from the moment we arrived and we were never uncomfortable in the least. Quite the opposite actually. We very much felt welcome and at home. We stayed in the Lilycott cottage and it was remarkable from the view of the river to the romantic bathtub. The fireplace didn't work but that was the only negative and to be fair we didn't complain about it either so that's on us. Breakfast was amazing both days and trying new foods was awesome! We will be back to this lovely cottage. It's the most romantic getaway I can imagine and my wife was VERY happy with her birthday getaway. I can't say enough good things about this place. I have a feeling this will become our home away from home.
