Meliá Nassau Beach - All Inclusive

4.0 out of 5.0

Recent guest reviews

Some areas inside the Hotel are a little weathered, but most of the main areas are very well kept and pleasing to the eye. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The buffet at the Market was good but didn't change much day after day. Breakfast was very good at the Market with an omelet station for fresh custom omelets and eggs prepared the way you want, along with lots of other breakfast options. The coffee was good and for those who wanted custom coffee creations there is a Starbucks near the lobby, although it is not part of the All Inclusive package. The other 5 restaurants are very nice dinner options, but require reservations that can only be made up to 2 days in advance. This means you have to stand in line early every couple days to be sure of a dinner reservation if you don't want to eat the buffet at The Market. One restaurant, The Black Angus, is another exception to the all inclusive package. It was very good but very pricey! Steaks are anywhere from $40 to $75. Nikkei is a Japanese Fusion restaurant. When booking this restaurant be sure to ask for the Hibachi table for the best food and best experience. Otherwise they seat you at a normal table with a very limited menu, nowhere near ss good as the Hibachi experience. Aqua is a very nice Italian themed restaurant. Excellent food, atmosphere, and service. Cilantro is a Mexican themed restaurant which also has great food and service. The O-Grille is an outdoor gazebo restaurant which is a very good lunch.

This hotel is all inclusive but has a limited buffet selection. I wound up eating the same breakfast everyday. Fortunately the food is good. Staff is very friendly and happy to help. I did not like the entertainment. How can a Caribbean island hotel not play Caribbean music? Too many rock nights and karaoke. I’m on vacation and I don’t want to hear horrible signing. I was disappointed with the after hours vibe. People were ready to party but drunks can take a while to get.

Solid choice for the money. Most people's reviews are spot-on: property is generally OK, but there are small things that could be fixed (dents in walls, food trays left in hallways more than a day). Staff is hit or miss: porter staff was AWESOME; front desk staff very spotty; restaurant reservations table staff RUDE. Small tips to bartenders go a LONG way, fyi. Great views, overall clean property.

Overall, Melia was a nice stay for our Honeymoon.... not great, not horrible. We checked in around 2PM and were given our room early, which was nice. The room hallways are very dark and narrow, but clean. The room itself was clean but being by the Ocean, there was definitely a 'damp' smell and feel to the room (not the Hotels fault, just an observation). The room was cleaned everyday, but they did not refresh the toiletries. Not a huge deal, but we just found it strange. The Hotel Staff was friendly enough... it was very hit or miss. Some were funny & great to interact with but a handful were very cold and did not seem to care too much about the guest experience. It seemed to be a consistent thing throughout the island, even away from the Resort... Tipping goes a long way there!! We purchased the all inclusive package... drinks were strongly poured, so that was very nice. Food was so-so... not many options and the quality was very lackluster. Nikkei was the BEST. Make sure you make reservations for dinners as they book 2 days out, and you're VERY limited if you don't have a res. The pool & beach were both lovely - not overly crowded; you could always find a chair somewhere. Bar service was fast The hotel recommended a day Spa to my Husband and I (Hollis Day Spa) and we were SHOCKED that a Resort like Melia would be recommending guests there... it was dirty, the staff was SICK (as in, coughing through the entire service) and the prices were very high for the quality.

Loved it!! Staff was professional and friendly. Hotel was clean and offered lots of activities for everyone.

Expected more from this hotel. Food was ok and drinks were weak.

The rooms need an upgrade I did not like the bathrooms at all especially the toilets and how they are made ...the outside of the hotel looks like it is in RENOVATION mode...The women on the staff need attitude adjustments. The men treat you with respect and class. If it wasn't for them I would probably have checked out the first day. Overall the hotel was NOT TERRIBLE just not somewhere i would rush back to. I would give it a 3 out of 5 stars. I enjoyed the drinks and that I had UNLIMITED access to them. The food was ok. I liked the buffet for breakfast and the place directly inside the lobby. Room service food was horrible. I had wings and pizza and I am trying to figure out how you go wrong with either of those.

The staff at Melia are absolutely wonderful! Everyone was so helpful and just the nicest. The staff ensured that our visit was comfortable and relaxing the entire time. We took our 11-month old daughter with us and she loved everyone as they went out of their way to make her even feel comfortable while on vacation. The hotel is a bit dated, but is currently under renovations. The rooms were fine for the little amount of time that we spent in the rooms. The mini-bar could use some upgrades and I would love to see the rooms have tile floors rather than carpet because of the amount of sand that can be tracked in from the beach. The beds are a tad stiff so if you are used to a softer bed, these might be uncomfortable. The food was typical of an all-inclusive resort. We really enjoyed the hibachi grill at the Asian restaurant and the outdoor restaurant for lunch. Would love to see some upgrades to the Bahamian night buffet as it was nothing special. The pools and beach are beautiful and relaxing. Recommend putting towels on chairs early in the morning so you have a reserved spot throughout the day. Both the pools and beach can get very busy. Lots of shade though in case you don't want to be in the sun all day. I would recommend this hotel to anyone that is traveling with family. I am pleased that they treated my baby the same way that they treated my husband and I. Just be careful when booking too close to college Spring Break!

The most beautiful water ever friendly people great food

Pools and beaches very nice. Staff very friendly. Food good for the most part. Cilantros needs better choices and service. Would not go there again. Asian grill, delicious! Could have gone there twice in my short stay! Loved it! Rooms could be updated but were clean.

Our first time to the Bahamas. The Level staff were great to us on arrival through depature. The view from our room was amazing from our huge balcony, and the beaches were pristine! The Melia was under renovations during our stay but we hardly noticed. If your looking for a place to stay close to the ocean with amazing views, and want to hear the waves crash as you fall asleep, the Melia is the place to stay.

Do not upgrade to Level!! Not worth it at all! Food was terrible at all restaurants

We paid for the level upgrade...our king bed was broke when we got to the room. We told the ‘level’ staff but they did nothing. The next day we asked to be moved, we were moved to a lesser grade room and the similar room (right next to us) that we were supposed to get was vacant our entire stay. We were not shown the room or any part of the facility when we arrived. There are no chairs to sit in in the rooms. The balcony furniture was filthy and there was not a table on the balcony to set your phone or drink on. Dinner reservations for on site restaurants are difficult to get as you had to follow up each day with the staff to see if the reservation was good or not. As far as the beach, it was nice but overcrowded and the locals are really load with running their water sports.

Beautiful location... hotel rooms need updating, But overall a nice place! Beach was amazing!

Some staff were rude. There was a lot of limitations to everything . Felt rushed in restaurants especially the market place buffet was the rudest staff, as if you were inconveniencing them. The food was never fresh at the buffet and there were cats roaming around being annoying. Our TV in the room was not working properly , no HBO and when we called no one cared to fix it, they said they will but never did. The cleaning people would either not replace towels or throw out the garbage, no consistency. Also when making the reservations for dinner, the staff seemed so rude and short didn't want to be bothered.

Every aspect of the stay was easy. Check in was smooth. Anytime we wanted something all we had to do was ask. The staff was extremely accommodating.

Hotel room was good. No complaints. The beach was amazing compared to the hotels next door. Carlos at the Beach bar was so much fun and had great service. The snorkeling at the resort was breathe taking and we saw a sea turtle, huge sting ray and alot of tropical fish. I would recommend Melia to anyone. No complaints with the hotel staff. We did not level up. If we go back again I would not level up. They have a small part of the Beach with nice chairs but a guy that did level up said there was no chairs for them so they had to go over to reg beach part. Level up had top shelf booze but we were fine with what we had. We could go into any pool. there is not a separate pool for level customers. I don't know what all the bad reviews were about the hotel that we read before going. It was amazing. We are not fancy people maybe that's why. It was perfect for us. The one pool with the lazy river was closed because they were working on it. We didn't care. We spent our time on the beach. We did go down about 830a to put our towels on chairs to reserve them. The food at the restaurants was tasty. We went Feb 4th -10th 2018 weather was in the 80's. No rain. If you are thinking of going to Melia do it. So worth it.

Monique was super on the beach with handing out drinks and the desk people were all helpful and nice

We went to Melias with no idea what to expect. We were treated like royalty! It was wonderful to be waited on by so many that seemed to really care. We needed R & R and that is exactly what we got. We didn't want to leave. Thank you to all the staff at Melias!!

Everyone working there was so nice! Weather was not good when we were there super windy w rain. They could of us more stuff going on during day to keep guest occupied. We couldn't use any of the water sports activities due to the wind the whole week. But bar staff keep the drinks coming. Very friendly.

Dear Lou, Thank you for the beautiful pictures and wonderful description of our resort. We appreciate knowing about your favorites and areas we can work on. From experience and the understanding of our audience, it is pertinent that we engage in a dinner reservations to process to ensure that everyone has a variety of experience, but off course we understand that it is tedious to have to get in line to secure bookings if you have a long stay. It is our goal to bring a happy medium to you. Again we thank you for sharing and hope to be your choice of future vacation destination. Warm regards, Cecilia Sit Guest Experience Manager
