British Colonial Hilton - Nassau

4.0 out of 5.0

Recent guest reviews

This property is with in walking distance to shops, restaurants, the cruise ship docks, and plenty of activities. You have no choice but to go out and explore the magnificent Bahamian culture. Anything out farther then walking, there is taxi and shuttle at the ready. Our first time in the Bahamas and BC Hilton was the best deal at the time. We will be back for sure in the near future, but only if this property has the great deal again. We recommend a stay when Bahamas celebrates their Independence. We we're lucky to have been there at that time and it was beautiful, Bahamian culture to it's max. The festival happens, literally right outside the hotel's doors and right around the corner. We loved it. Yes, it has resort fees and certain charges that we questioned, but so does Vegas.

Nice place to stay. But had problems with room keys every night not working. Yes we kept them away from electronics

Hallways looked in need of updating. The rugged Hallways needed to be replaced.

the location, the staff. overall te rooms were well kept

the manager, Shari was wonderful. however the rest of the staff did not smile nor greet us with any energy or excitement for our stay. The property seems lifeless, nothing going on, no entertainment or music or excitement at all and we did not know where

The location and history are really the main reasons to choose this hotel. The outdoor space was great- but the hours available to rent the equipment (kayaks, etc) were limited. Concierge was fabulous- but not available until 10AM. View from the room wasn't great (all you could see was the roof and trash. Everybody was very friendly. Room was very noisy (there was a party in the lobby- and our room was right above it). Gym smelled- but I guess most people don't go there to exercise. Our shower was leaking (lots of mold in the door frame)- had to mop the floor in between uses. If you can get a good deal, it is worth it.

Nothing more to say. Great place to stay! Staff was nice property was clean. Rooms are up to date

The hotel is absolutely not a 4 star hotel. Rooms are old.

I like everything about the property nice nice nice nice

The private beach was nice. The hotel food was extremely expensive. Chicken quesadilla, chicken sandwich, and two cans of coke was 48 dollars. ATM at the facility did not work. Was great being close to downtown except for Saturday and Sunday night. Woken up twice at 2am from loud bass from a near by bar. Saturday night didn’t stop until 4am. Sunday night didn’t stop til 3am and had to get up at 5:30am for our flight. The fire alarm was pulled twice. I’ve never been on vacation when the fire alarm was pulled. They were both determined to be false alarms, but still pretty ridiculous. On Monday at 3am when I just decided to get up after the loud bass, I decided to take a shower. It was cold. I told the front desk and all he said was “we will let someone know.” I called Hilton directly and they did compensate with points. The views from the property were great. But probably would not stay at this property again.

Problem with the cable TV for 24hrs. Did not have a double room like I reserved.

This property is way too overpriced for what it offers. Due to a flight change on our planned trip to Atlantis, we ended up having to reserve a room for one night in this hotel before heading to Atlantis. It is as expensive as a room in Atlantis, with very out-dated rooms and property. Room was not clean. Property overall needs a renovation ASAP. Small beach is OK, but rooms and hotel structure are awful and the room price is an extirsion for what it offers.

The hotel is lovely, rooms are great, and you can't beat the location. If you're not paying to be on the beach, this is the spot to stay at!

A centrally located hotel in downtown Nassau within walking distance of everything. Rooms are clean and staff is wonderful. Hotel has a restaurant and bar - restaurant is really overpriced. Plenty of other food options in town. Grounds are beautiful and well kept, staff is extremely friendly. Pool and beach are immaculate and overlook the cruise port.

We loved it... the staff, hotel and service is excellent

Only complaints, the Bass from the night club a block away, the haunted TV in our room that would suddenly turn on in the middle of the night and the elevators that seam to be a refurb in progress. Also the free snacks and drinks in the club lounyseamed to always be shutting down a bit early. Staff was excellent and friendly, spent a day at Atlantis and couldn’t wait to get back to the Hilton and the little private beach

It's the oldest hotel in Nassau but the location is right next to down town and is part of a larger expansion. There's a lot of construction noise at the pool and the beach. It's a good value.
