We stayed in Room 7 and overall enjoyed our time at A Stone’s Throw Away. The hotel is clean, comfortable, and full of charm. The large private balcony with spiral stairs was a highlight, and we loved the Dutch-style carved bed. The staff—especially Shaniqua—were friendly and helpful. The Indian food in the restaurant was excellent, and the included healthy breakfast was great. The location is convenient: close to the airport, steps from a quiet beach, and near the bus system, so no car is needed. The ocean views, sunsets, AC, Wi-Fi, pool, and nearby restaurants were all big positives.
The main downside is noise. Room 7 sits directly above the dining and bar area, where music plays from early morning until evening. Even with doors closed, we could hear music, conversations, and staff, and it made it hard to relax or hear the ocean. Weekend events downstairs were especially loud. The shower also had very low pressure and inconsistent temperature. There’s no indoor dining, no in-room coffee maker, and we occasionally heard a neighbor’s dog barking.
Overall, this is a lovely boutique stay with great service and atmosphere, but travelers seeking quiet may prefer a room away from the dining area.
