The room and the area were terrific. The staff was particularly helpful because I was caught there during a heavy rain.
Lovely space directly across from Naritasan Temple.
Nice traditional hotel & experience. Great staff - friendly and efficient. Clean communal bath with full amenities. Rooms are cozy but a little dated. Ryokan is located on a quiet street across from Naritasan Temple and front facing rooms have a view of it. Would stay here again if I ever have another layover in Tokyo.
This place is FANTASTIC. I just loved everything about it. The staff (who speak English), the traditional vibe with all the essential modern updates, the cleanliness, and the dinner. Especially the dinner! Do the dinner for sure. It's freaking 9 courses of classic Japanese cuisine. Would be easily $100+ at any restaurant, it's that superb of quality/presentation. You do sleep on the floor as you would in any ryokan, but they had extra futon pads in my room, which I strongly encourage utilizing, as it made my sleep so much better. The Ryokan is across the street from the Shrine, which is truly amazing. One of the best I've been to outside of Kyoto. You really couldn't have a better location. It's at the bottom of the hill on a fabulous strip of little shops selling everything you can imagine (I did a ton of gift shopping here). The street is just perfect with a mix of modern and traditional shops leading to the shrine. The walk from the station is about 15 minutes, easier from the station than back to it (cuz back is uphill), but I did it with 2 bags (a full suitcase and my mid-size duffel) both ways. The price is worth every penny for this place. You won't regret it.
Great Location, walking distance to restaurants and local shops
