Wine Valley Lodge

We enjoyed our stay at the Wine Valley Lodge. We were in town for the Napa Valley Marathon for two days and this motel was a perfect fit. It was fairly close to downtown and everything we needed to get to. The room itself was nice, in the bathroom seemed upgraded with a granite countertop in a very cool and unique faucet. The shower water pressure was awesome and felt great after a long hard marathon. There was also a free breakfast offered that was more than adequate. The staff was very nice and allowed us to check in a little bit early when we first arrived. For the price that we paid which was equivalent to the Motel 6 I feel that we got a much better value and really enjoyed our stay. We definitely would stay here again if we needed to come back to Napa. I would highly recommend this hotel

Relaxing, Quite, Romantic, cold and lots of rain........

This motel has a great story..Elvis stayed here they say, as did Hope Lange, Rock Hudson and Tuesday Weld. BUT..the hotel is very old..and our room smelled old and musty...I used Febreze spray every time we returned as it had an old smell to it..and Febrezze did not mask it for long enough Not near anything in Napa...on the wrong exit to the vineyards....but the staff was gracious..it looked like they might have permanent residents living there, but I could not be certain....

Continental breakfast was better than most places. I would definitely stay there again.

Very basic Hôtel reasonably close to downtown Very clean and includes continental plus breakfast. Great deal for a budget price by Napa standards

The room exceeded our expectations. It was very comfortable and clean.

This is a very inexpensive hotel, by Napa / CA wine country standards, so it's not fair to compare it to higher priced, more posh options. It's an average motor lodge style hotel in a very convenient location. I wouldn't suggest not having a car, as the best wine towns and vineyards are spread throughout the valley, but if you don't want to drive, it's only a 20 minute walk to downtown Napa with many restaurants and tasting rooms, and there is a grocery store and 2 convenience stores within a few blocks of here. My king bedroom and linens were very, very clean, had no cleaning product odor (like bleach that many cheap hotels use) and was comfortable. It had a refrigerator and microwave. I was surprised that there was also a nice pool in the courtyard. The only reason that I didn't give it 5 stars, is that you can hear everything in the adjacent rooms, so sleeping with the fan unit on at night was required. However, once I turned it on, I no longer heard a thing and had a great night sleep on the comfortable bed. The breakfast is also equivalent to what I've seen at other hotels of this price range (bagels/toast, pre-made egg sandwiches and pastries, fresh fruit, cereals, coffee and juices) and since I'm gluten free, I only had a coffee and an orange, but the other guests seemed to be enjoying the carb fest ;-)

The otherwise decent improvements to the facility didn't include updating the number of electric outlets, of which there need to be one, easily-reached, on each side of the bed, instead of only one easy-to-reach and one impossible to reach behind the immoveable bed. Contemporary improvements aside, the owners can't hide the musty smell, which lingered to the extent that even the clothes I hadn't unpacked from my suitcase had that same smell when I got home and finally unpacked. My final comment has to do with the elderly gentleman, our uncle, who was our guest for both nights, but the management had mistakenly only charged our credit card for one night. Upon realizing the gentleman intended to stay two nights, the owner/manager telephoned him, and receiving no answer went directly to his room and knocked on his door, shouting, until he got out of the shower and answered the door to see the owner insisting he pay right then and there. This is so transparently unprofessional.

Decent hotel. Comes with fridge and microwave. Near restaurants, and bars

Great staff that had awesome recommendations for site seeing! Very close to downtown Napa which had delicious options for dining.

The room was basic, nothing special, but the bathroom was clean and the bed was comfortable, especially for the price. However, I asked specifically for a quiet room and unfortunately, we were next to a family with a frequently crying baby. In most hotels this would not be a big deal but the adjoining door and walls must have been VERY thin because we could hear the crying and it even woke us up several times during the night. One of the front desk people did not seem to understand English very well so it was difficult to ask for recommendations about the area.

Nice motel close to wine train and reasonable price

Comfortable beds. Clean. Location great for accessing various parts of wine country and downtown.

This hotel has the feel of " old California" The location was great for access to downtown restaurants and sites. Rooms were clean and bathrooms recently updated. Continental breakfast was convenient and fresh every morning. Good value for price. I would recommend this hotel to others and would stay there again.

Great hotle for the price in NAPA. If you want to be close to downtown, and not pay as much this is a great option.

The Napa valley wine lodge was perfect for 1 night in Napa. It's safe, comfortable and by far the most affordable. The Fruit/yogurt/cereal for breakfast was fine, but nothing special. If you wake up early you can see all the hot air balloons fly by!

Clean, new bathroom, new TV, fridge, microwave, 2 free bottled water, quiet area, closed to everything. Easy check in and check out. Can use a Thicker blanket. Bed comfort is just Ok, you get what you pay for, and a bit more. Probably the cheapest hotel in Napa.

The location is close to down town and with eateries & shopping close by, easy in and easy out. The manager was very nice, helping me out when I mixed up my travel dates. I went on the Wine Train Murder Mystery tour and had to come back after dark. I was traveling by myself and felt safe and secure at my location, even going out to Fosters Freeze (yes they do still exist) at 10:00 PM. If you need a nice, reasonably priced place to stay, go here, they even have a pool (outside) for use in good weather. The entire place is well kept up, I am sure you will like it.

This turned out to be a good choice for me. The staff were so kind and the room was quiet, very clean and well appointed (frig, microwave, TV) but no clock or coffee pot. Breakfast had coffee, tea, chocolate, muffins, Danish, bagels, fruit, cereal. The manager was so kind. I had surgery in the early AM and then came to the hotel. She arranged for me to get into a room much earlier than normal check-in. I will return next time I want to stay over in Napa. The price was quite reasonable for this area.
