We had an amazing experience at Hotel Del Lago, beautiful room that overlooked this magical lake. Alexander, the director was extremely kind and accommodating and the room was quiet elegant and fantastic. I truly recommend staying here if you are planning on visiting this amazing place.
Staying here with my wife for a few days of chill out time on Sun Moon Lake. We got a free upgrade upon check-in to a spacious room on the 8th floor with stunning views of the lake. The room is good, with a nice big bed, reliable wifi and a separate side room which appears to be for having tea in (though we're using it for our suitcases...!). Halfway through our stay, a complimentary bottle of wine appeared in our room as well. Not sure what we did to get the special treatment but certainly not knocking it and was very sweet of the staff here. Our reservation included breakfast and dinner though we've mainly eaten out in the town as we wanted to explore a bit and try the local cuisine. Breakfast is principally for the Chinese market, so if you're looking for a full English or Continental Breakfast then you're in the wrong place, but otherwise fine if you know what to expect. The staff are lovely and can't do enough for us. Corinna at the hotel's front desk gets a special mention, even offering to have the kitchen cook lunch for us as we'd been lazy and skipped breakfast one morning. She speaks good English too and has helped to make our stay here a really enjoyable one. If you're looking for a hotel around Sun Moon Lake then you'd be hard pushed to find a better one than the Hotel Del Lago.
Hotel right on the Sun Moon Lake with an excellent view on the lake side. Room was very nice, breakfast OK with mostly Chinese selections.. Very Expensive for the night. Valet parking. Has a free boat tour early in the morning.
Hotel room small in the extreme. Bathroom reasonable. Had king bed requested..everything else downhill. Evening meal was cold and inedible. Eat across the street. There is no bar in hotel...but they do serve wine ..very ordinary ..in restaurant. Very expensive for what you recieve. Aircon is strange. Can't adjust to heat so had to turn it off. Only here 1 night but would suggest you try a different hotel. No english spoken so difficult to be understood. Will be happy to leave.
Went there, 2 couples, rooms have been ok The next morning, we showed up for breakfast as told early, as food becomes low after 8:30 (Checkin front desk lady told us so). We found that the occupancy was low, so the manager decided that we can only choose a plate they prepare and that is it..... We complained and have been told that there is no refund for three breakfast, either go there and accept that funny plate, or leave it! So we complained further and didn't accept that, until a good and beverage manager showed up and reimbursed us 200 nT$ per person. Breakfast value is considered ways more and one of the decisions, to stay at that hotel was the breakfast buffet ... so we wouldn't recommend it as it's simply unacceptable. Room keys don't work on first attempt...
The view from the balcony is absolutely beautiful and the room is both nice and clean with free wifi, though a little bit pricey for its size. Overall it was a pleasant experience but nothing too spectacular.
This hotel is just next to the pier, I mean the quiet one. There are food stands near the hotel but not much. You could sign up for the morning tour when checking in. The room is nice so is the breakfast. Hot noodles in the morning just made my day.
There is nothing extraordinary about this hotel but e location is good and the view from the hotel lobby is beautiful. The family sized rooms are on the smaller side for four people but the rooms are very clean. The room was reasonably priced too. The staff speak minimal English which I understand given that this is Taiwan. The staff had issues trying to find our reservation but luckily our driver was able to translate.
Nice room thought the hotel is a bit dated. Get rooms facing the sun moon lake for the wonderful view in the morning. The hotel is just beside the jetty and it is very convenient. Around 2 mins walk from the visitor centre where you can take the bus to Taichung High Speed Rail (HSR). Good service from the staffs.
Good views of the lake (many hotels have). The rooms are a little dated but there's far worst so not too bad. Beds are awful, extremely hard so you'll get back pain. Curtains are fun so don't expect to sleep late. Food is a buffet, not too bad for a buffet actually, but still only a buffet.
