Good location in Nanning, walking distance to shops and mall. Bed may be hard by some standards but the softest on I have slept in in China, breakfast is standard Chinese, WiFi is ok, no English on tv, good shower, would stay again.
Located in one of the biggest mall at Nanning city makes guests very convenient to buy anything or even just walking around. We stayed at room no 3416. Huge room with private secret garden. The room has poo smell. But we can't change the room because all are full booked.
Place is new and modern and located inside a mall complex also housing a Marriott, which is nice because there are some restaurants and a Wal-mart to stock up things. The basics: the standard rooms are small, the wifi is extremely bad as is typical in China, the shower has strong hot water, and the bed is of course hard as a rock. The reception as expected did not speak English. Use Google Translate to ask the staff for a second comforter to put on the bed to make it more comfortable. The hotel is set up weird, it’s on three floors in an office building. Reception is not located with the rooms in the "C" building but is on the ground floor past the "B" building. As others have noted, the elevators can sometimes take a while because office workers use them but this was not bad later at night. I paid around 37 USD . There's not much to do in Nanning so it was nice being in the mall. There's also a park with a lake across from the mall that you can walk around. Overall, the hotel was okay for a couple nights except for the bed and crappy wifi.
This hotels location above the walmart and many restaurants and other shops as well as convenient transportation make it a winner. It's price is far less than the Marriot just next door. It is more of a business hotel though and less of a luxury one. If you are staying there for a luxury get away you may be disappointed. If you are looking for a good value and convenient location this is the one.
Stayed in this hotel based on the other English language reviews here on TripAdvisor, but my experience was not a positive one. It all started when we had a look at the rooms and got quoted the wrong price...we were told a few minutes later that the price for the room we wanted was more expensive then originally quoted. Fine...we were tired after a long drive from Zhuhai so we took the room and paid 488 RMB (which is about 75 USD). Once in the room we found that it wasn't properly cleaned, there were used bottles of shampoo left behind by the previous tenant and the bathrobes / slippers were dirty and clearly used by someone else...and were not replaced by the housekeeping staff upon cleaning up the room. Upon checkout the next day we told the staff of all the problems, but they didn't seem to concerned about these issues. Plus the complimentary breakfast was a joke...a cheap bowl of either chicken or beef noodles. Anyway, the only good thing about this place is that it sits above a shopping center with a huge Wal-Mart supermarket...where you can self-cater in case you don't enjoy their "breakfast" selection of cheap noodles. Finally if you get sick of staying in a horribly overpriced hotel (which the Champselysees clearly is) the Nanning Marriott is located in the same huge building...but there at least you can expect to check into a clean room with international service at your disposal. Avoid this hotel when in Nanning...save your money and stay somewhere else.
Second time to stay in this hotel. Nicely located and suitable for thoes who like a quiet area. Limited english used by the staff. Plenty of shops around and it is located above a wal-mart. Rooms good size with all mod-cons. Nice to have free internet access. I found the bed very hard, not unlike sleeping on the floor. Toilet and shower room are enclosed by glass so you wont have much privacy while you are in there doing your business. No breakfast provided within the hotel but you do get a voucher to get a breakfast in a local chinese fast food restaurant. Limited choice for western tastes. Overall a nice place to stay and very good for your back.
This is a cool place and was real bargain. It is located in a huge shopping mall which is close to the bus station, which is good when you're heading to Vietnam. The rooms were very big and the staff was helpful, alltough they hardly spoke English and had problems finding our reservation.
Loved this hotel! Very new and clean. Hotel is linked to great food outlets in shopping mall, KFC, W-mart, shopping, cinema, everything. Check at www.elong.net for hotel photos and great rates too.
