Hotel enjoys a Central location in the city. However it is rather noisy, noise is mostly from across the street. Very heavy traffic at entrance as people are visiting shops on 2nd-5th floor. The deco in the rooms is in need of an update. Very tiny bathroom, no air-conditioning. Restaurant has several items on the menu not available. No spa in the hotel as claimed, in my search for the spa I ended up on the 2nd floor which was full of small shops and offices, the floor was so dirty it even had dust bins infront of the lift!. Rooms not thoroughly cleaned corners had visible dust. Heavy presence of armed guards on every floor was intimidating and gave me the feeling of insecurity. This is definitely not a 3 star hotel but one star. The rating must be from a long time ago. Only book to stay here if you are looking for a 1 star hotel. Need less to say I did not stay here even though I had paid on line for two nights.
I stayed for one night in march 2017 and it was was after 13 years that i returned to this hotel! I stay here due to its proximity to CBD and KICC. The hotel room was clean & tidy, the staff friendly hence worth the price i was charged.
We have stayed here before, stayed again in July and August 2016 for 5 nights, the reception staff are below average but the porters are friendly and helpful. The manager is also very friendly and helpful. The rooms are basic but good, flyscreens on the windows, one of the best breakfasts on offer anywhere, including the excellent coffee, great hotel with live music most nights across the road, the security guard located on every floor is unusual, sitting there doing nothing all day and night, café downstairs, no microwave, wifi is poor, will stay again for sure. Make sure you book prior with internet as the price is a lot more if booking at reception
excellent service and I must say the location is perfect. You have to get do with the noise around especially just across there is an open club but the same club simmers offers you the exotic side of Nairobi so its just a perfect blend
I stayed two nights at the hotel during my visit to Kenya. the hotel is located centrally and I was able to visit many places by foot. The hotel is in very close proximity to at least 5-7 banks and many other financial and government institutions. The board across is very busy, if you're located in a lower floor, you might find it difficult. Rooms are small and the food served is basic. Hotel doesn't have air condition, however the climate in Nairobi is so good, that I never felt the need for the AC.
I've stayed here numerous times, but not for about 1.5 years Not much has changed, new elevators, the same friendly staff, many of which recognized me and called me by name. The breakfast is outstanding in a great dining room with wide-open windows overlooking beautiful Kenyatta Avenue. Not fancy, but clean, comfortable and reasonable priced.
The room itself was pretty basic, no frills. The shower had hot water, the bed was relatively comfortable, and the room was clean. We had a room facing the street and it was quite loud at night. This wasn't much of a problem for us since we tend to sleep through anything but it may bother others. The biggest issue we had was with the front desk staff. They barely spoke English and were very unorganized. We asked the staff to help us with a food order and they told us they couldn't help and we should go talk to the guys in the money-mart kiosk. So, after several dropped calls, 30 minutes, and 50 cents later, we were able to place the food order. The guy just used his personal phone. Since when can't a hotel call domestically? There is no mosquito net over the bed, which we thought would be fine given it's a hotel structure with standard windows but my wife and I both woke up with insect bites. We can't say for sure if they are the result of mosquitoes but perhaps a net would help with all insects. Finally, it is about 30 minutes from the airport with light traffic which was inconvenient for our travel plans.
The location is quite convenient and the breakfast was amazing.Ms Annette was professional, she recommended us on where to buy locally made gifts for friends. However, some things really frustrated us during our stay.We check in late at night. The security lady at the entrance would not allow us to enter even after intervention from her colleagues at the door, it was very embarrassing. The front desk team on duty was very helpful, we finally managed to get a room. In the morning, I approached the reception for assistance, unfortunately the staff were not willing to assist nor give some suggestions apart from Anastasia who understood my frustration. I would not recommend anyone to stay in this hotel.
1. It was a single day stay before leaving for masaimara with the family. At first look I was taken back on the choice of hotel but it turned ok. 2. Rooms are very small and for a family they could be a problem. 3. It is a fairly clean place however location can be a concern.
This hotel is in middle of the town, is typical business hotel. Rooms are average- we got with leaking air condition, there is lots of prostitutes around this hotel so security is on every floor, opposite is Seemers- open bar- they playing 24h congolise music . I've noticed this hotel is popular in local men to bring their "new" girlfriends for night so you might hear rhythmic banging bed on the wall. If you are staying there longer you might get voucher for swimming pool to sister hotel Boulivard. My wife is kenyan and I was really angry after she been stopped at reception because staff was thinking that she is prostiute....We forgot 2 towels Versace from the room, so we asked reception for help as it's happened 30 minutes ago, unfortunately nobody was able to help us...
