Close to the beach , beautiful I would recommend it

Would I stay here again? No! I am not sure who is in charge of ratings but, this hotel is more like a 3.5 star hotel. In this rating I want to try to be as fair as possible. The location is amazing, the beach is clean and breath taking, other than the managment, most of the staff is quite friendly. Unfortunately, the rest of the stay was not up to our standards. The hotel is outdated, the hallway carpets are full of stains and even worse, their are sewage/mold smells throughout the hotel and room. The worst part of the whole stay was the experience I had with the managment. I spoke with management and told them our flights had changed to a later timing and that we would like to extend for another night. The manager on duty, didn't seem to care if we stayed another night or not. I found it quite odd because the hotel seemed to be at 60 occupancy. I explained to her about the rates I found online and that we were hoping we could get a discount. She proceeded to offer me her discount which, turned out to be more expensive than the rate I found online. I couldn't believe it but, I kept my mouth shut. We then proceeded to ask for a late checkout because we had a couples massage booked for 1:30 from the previous day. Please keep in mind these massages cost $200 per person. Our request was again turned down and I had to call up and argue with the managment for them to get the point. It's unfortunate that the managment here or the Shangri La organization do not understand the importance of customer satisfaction. Their goal should be to accomadate the guest with in reason, in hopes that the guest will visit again and spread the word to tall of their friends & family about the wonderful experience. Small things like a late checkout or a discounted rate would go along way! The should especially take into consideration the fact that we already stayed two nights, we checked into the hotel at 9:30 pm and we spent over $500 at the spa and resturants. I hope Shangri La change their practices and train their management the practices of 6 star treatment. This is a free piece of advise from me to the Shangri La Organization. It costs your company a lot less money to retain a customer then to find a new one. Pros: Beautiful beach and setting Nice breakfast Cons: Management does not seem to care if the customer comes back carpets are stained everywhere Hallways and our room smell like sewage or mold We had to fight with management to get an extended check out Currency Exchange rates are high

The hotel was clean and well located. We enjoyed the stay and I would definitely return.

We enjoyed are stay even with checking in @ 2am. Did not realize there are three separate hotels under this name.

I stayed at Al Waha August 2014 and it was perfect. This resort is truly a gem of the GCC. The photos do it no justice. Perfect for beachside rest and relaxation. The breakfast buffet was extensive and delicious.

Beautiful location, but a bit of a drive to downtown.
