The staff got my booking info incorrectly and they were not accommodating at all. I had a daily water limit of 2 small bottles for 3 people and they wouldnt provide more. Third person slept in the ground because they didn’t want to give us what we booked. Room clean up was done only 1 in 4 days. There were cockroaches which i noticed the last day of our stay and i didnt bother even saying anything.

Decent Hotel near the Masjid Al Zawawi

The best part about this hotel was its location to the Al Zawawi Mosque and the Muscat Bakery. Otherwise it was nothing special. A taxi from the airport should cost around 8-9 OMR. The hallways were always smoke filled, and even though there were two of us staying in the room, they would only provide one free water. The room was clean, and the hotel was near the major road which takes you to all places in Muscat. There are hundreds of Baisa buses that pass by and the "once every 15-30 minutes" number 1 city bus that stops near the pedestrian overpass beside the mosque. There are also many, many food places around the hotel, some cheap, some expensive.

Conveniently located hotel in Al Khuwair, Muscat

This is a small hotel conveniently located near to the Sultan Qaboos highway in Alkhwair, Muscat, near to the Ministry offices. There are a lot of restaurants and shops in and around the hotel. Overall a pleasant stay. Good budget hotel.

Hôtel proche des commerces et des restaurants. Quartier animé et facile d'accès, à mi chemin entre l'aéroport et Matrah. Ils ont voulu me faire payer le lit d'appoint alors que j'avais précisé que je voyageait avec un enfant en bas Age. pour un très court séjour ok sinon allez voir ailleurs. En tout cas ne mérite sûrement pas le prix demandé.

Wir waren im Hotel für eine Nacht "auf der Durchreise" auf unser Oman-Rundreise. Für diesen Zweck war das Zimmer mehr als ausreichend, wir hatten es uns ja auch wegen dem günstigen Preis (für Maskat-Verhältnisse) ausgesucht. Verkehrsgünstig gelegen, nettes Personal, sauberes Zimmer, wenn auch recht klein. Mehr braucht man nicht für eine eine Nacht, für eine Woche wäre das gebuchte Zimmer vielleicht etwas klein. Aber es gibt wohl auch größere Zimmer, alles eine Frage des Preises.

Samara Hotel ist ein einfaches, aber gut geführtes Mittelklassehotel mit allen Komforteinrichtungen, die es braucht. Grosses Pluspunkt: Das Hotel liegt verkehrstechnisch günstig im Quartier al-Kuwair zwischen dem Flughafen und der Altstadt von Muscat. In der Nähe ist eine Moschee mit gepflegter Grünanlage zum Verweilen (als Orientierungspunkt wichtig). Ausserdem viele Geschäfte (Bäckerei, Supermarkt) in der Nähe. Zu bemängeln: Es ist jeweils zu prüfen, ob in wirklich allen Nasszellen des Hotels (Badezimmer-WC) auf höchste Reinlichkeit geachtet wird. (In trockenen Ländern stellt sich die hygienische Frage anders als bei uns).Ansonsten: Gepflegte Zimmer, gute Matratzenqualität der Betten.

Overnight pre-flight stay

A good choice if flying out of Muscat this is a business-type hotel, not one for a tourist stay in Muscat. However, plenty of eating choices nearby and a decent curry is to be had in the hotel restaurant. Large, very clean room but no bedside light and have to walk across the room to turn out the ceiling light: unusual in a decent hotel.
