If you come out of Hauptmanof (central station), at the front and turn right walk about 100metres and turn left on Paul hesel strabe (sp) the hotel is on the right about 5 minutes walk. We arrived at 6pm, check in was very good, the man checking us in asked if we were there for any particular reason, I told him to visit the Manchester united memorial in trudering. He looked it up, and gave us a print out of a map and informed us of the trains to get. The hotel was clean and pleasent, the room was comfortable and the toilet/shower was nice, like a wet room. Breakfast was busy, but we got a table with no problems all 3 morning's, the food was fresh, ample and nice. If you come out of the hotel and turn left and immediate left, towards the church, at the end of the road is the underground which takes you to all main stations, and cuts the walking in half. Dacha concentration camp is a must visit. Overall we had a very good stay, and would use again.
Front office crew was so slow during check in. She did not inform me about anything. For example ı didnt know that ı could use fast insternet with the code & password. İnternet was so slow and 3rd day ı went to the reception to buy fast internet. Answer made me angry cause normaly during check in ı need to get this code & password free ! Restaurant was small, staff was running in the restaurant. İmposaible to find table during brrakfast. İf you have a plan to eat breakfast with your friend, impossible. Strangers will be on the table.
It is near to Central train station and you can walk to center in 20 minutes. It is in the Turkish neighborhood so Turkish people or people who likes Turkish food can enjoy it. Their gym is very good. All is new and it is spacious and thereis free water available
WE stayed 4 nights it is really close to the trainstation and there is also a metro station nearby the church the decration was so nice especialy the breakfast room had avery nice decrated garden with paint wall the room was big with memory foam bed!!! the tv was huge at least 42" the bathroom was great with all toothbrush and soap and cone that you may need breakfast was incredible fruits, small sweet, yougart, beikon omlete \ and my favorite FRESH CROISANT!! plain and with chocolate, a selection of all kind of tea and 2 big automatic coffe machine!!! just to start your day!!
good location, quite close to the city centre (15 mins walking). Super small tiny rooms, and not so clean. as soon as we arrived we asked to change blankets because one had hair on it and the other had holes!!!! very old style hotel, would need a renovation! good breakfast though.
Business trip to Munich - hotel OK, parking and comfortable rooms (aside from weird EU duvets) - no UK/international TV - breakfast OK if continental. Did not eat evening meal - but overall. not inspiring - would look elsewhere for next visit.
This was our second stay in this hotel - the first being some years ago. It is located quite near the main station where there are good transport links to other areas. The walk into the main town is easy and it only takes about 15 minutes. The October Fest site is within walking distance too - we went to the Christmas Market on the site. The room decor needs a little bit of updating, as does the breakfast area. The latter is very small and cramped and cannot cope when the hotel is full - as it was on every day of our 5 nights stay. Breakfast is ok - when there is enough food out for the number of diners. This seemed to be a major problem each morning, no matter what time we went down to eat. There was quite a limited selection but better than some hotels. There was no air-conditioning, which wasn't really a problem in December, but would be awful in July or August. Rooms are average size with a comfortable bed and pillows. The bathroom looked as though it had been recently up-dated, but not the rest of the room. A previous reviewer mentioned the church clock keeping them awake. The clock doesn't chime all night - well it didn't when we were there. It stops at 11 and starts again at 7 (I think!) The hotel is a little noisy - but this is due to other guests not being considerate when walking along corridors, talking loudly or scraping chairs across the wooden/laminate floors in the rooms above. This isn't really the hotel's fault as they can't monitor every guest. There is free wi-fi, but it is incredibly slow and you need to constantly re-connect. Only two devices are allowed per room as well. In this day and age of unlimited free, fast wi-fi in most places, this was a little annoying. The staff were friendly. It was some of the guests who needed manners, but that again is out of the hotel's control. Housekeeping was somewhat erratic. Whilst the bed was made each day it differed in degrees of 'madeness', the tea and coffee making provisions were not replenished, and neither was the toilet roll. Towels were not always tidied either. When there are two people in a room, surely you should have enough of each tea and coffee item for both people, but there wasn't. . We stayed 5 nights and there was an indication that the bedding would be changed after the third night. This did not happen and the towels were not changed either. Whilst this wasn't really an issue, it went against what the card in the room stated. The lack of restaurant was disappointing, especially when returning tired from a day out. You had to find somewhere else to eat before returning to the hotel or had to go back out in the cold. All in all, an average hotel that I guess gets its 4 Star status because it has a 'fitness' area. It was not quite up to the expected (or previous) standard.
The Tryp Munchen City Center was great for our 9 days in Munich. The staff was friendly and spoke fluent English. The rooms were clean and the housekeeping staff was efficient and friendly. Plus, the rooms looked immaculate when they were finished each day. The rooms were not all that large, but they were adequate for us. We were only about 3 blocks from the Hauptbonhof, the large train station. We could easily walk down to the Marienplatz where there were lots of activities such as the Christmas Market, restaurants, and stores.
Clean room, wonderful staff, spoke english and went out of their way to be helpful & friendly. Lovely breakfast included in the room rate. Location is great for the ubahn, not far from the city centre. Within walking distance to the centre and the main train station is a 5 minute walk as well.
I stayed at the Tryp during the new years weekend. Staff is very friendly. The Lobby needs a revamp. Rooms are average size with a good bathroom and good water pressure in the shower. Mattresses need to be updated as well as the pillows. To me it seemed it should be a solid 3 star rather than a 4 star hotel. Breakfast was really good combining english breakfast with local specialities. I would recommend it for a short period if you can get a good rate.
