We stayed in Munich for 5 nights and we enjoyed our stay here. The hotel was in a great location being only 10 minutes from the train station. It was nice and quite and the staff were also really helpful.
We were travelling by train from England to Italy and decided to break our journey by spending 2 nights in Munich and stayed at the Tryp hotel; this being within easy walking distance from the main station. The hotel is modern and functional; the room was comfortable. The room was provided with a portable air conditioner, which would have been too noisy to have switched on through the night if we'd needed it. Breakfast was the usual buffet but with a huge amount of choice, which we greatly enjoyed. To access the free wifi required a process of logging on; something we had to repeat several times during our stay, and there is a somewhat restrictive limit to 2 devices per room. We had no free wifi on the morning of our departure. The hotel is in a quiet location but we were woken before 6am on the first morning by anti-social noisy residents in an adjacent apartment block, something which may have been outside the control of the hotel.
At arrivial, my booking could not be found in the computer. Only after I handled by printed confirmation it was finally found. Next morning, the booking for breakfast was not found at the breakfast desk. Additionally, the "free" internet is only 100MB, which was gone after fetching the email. Fortunately you could subscribe to some sort of club to get unlimited traffic, but nevertheless every connection seems to be dropped after a few minutes, so a stable connection to the cooperate network was impossible. Last upon IT related stuff on my departure it was impossible to print the bill which was then sent to my email address - not as a normal document, as a scan of a printout! (So quite big, such a email would have used a big about of that ridiculous 100MB.) On the other hand I quite liked the room and the bed - with some good things a the safe, the small fridge and the curtains which keep out almost all light, but also strange details which should be improved. First, the entrance to the shower is very tight as the door opens to the inside and you have to move around it. Secondly, you have quite some power sockets at the desk, but none to charge your mobile during the night but to have at close to check the time. Additionally, the order of the TV programs was quite strange and the TV was always started which "Channel 0" with no program at all. Next point that "Channel 1" is a Spanish TV channel - so you realize you are in a Spanish hotel brand. Next time you realize this is the breakfast. It has quite some choice at fruits and juice (with very tiny glasses), but on the other hand very tiny buns (about half the size to the normal buns in Germany) and a very limited choice of cheese (only one kind) and sausages (3 kinds, but one is a typical Spanish one). Last think I quite liked was the sauna which was a bit hard to find (there is no hotel folder with such information in the room). Also a strange habit of the hotel staff is to put the bucket into the sauna, so the shovel will be very hot if you want to use it.
Our second visit to this hotel, staff this time were more friendly and we're a great help with a couple of problems. The parking option is a welcome bonus but a little expensive at 25€ a day. Thank you to Joanna great service
I had a very nice stay. Nice friendly staff. Upgraded to top floor room with balcony. Spacious and clean. Great views. Great aircon. Nice small gym open 24 hours with a sauna. Location near train station. Easy walking distance to center and museums. Restaurant was understaffed one night. Some general wear and tear throughout. Cobwebs on the balcony. Good experience though.
The location is great near the train station and hence the city center. It is a standard 3 star hotel with simple rooms, but a pretty good breakfast buffet. It is a decent hotel for 1-2 nights or for business. However the cleaning should be improved. Every time I stay here the floor in the rooms seem dirty and sticky.
The hotel is in the Middle Eastern district of Munich and lacked German food and the grocery stores did not sell beer or wine. We were only in Munich for a few days and did not get the German experience that we were hoping for. Nice hotel, but not the best location for all things German.
Stayed here for three nights over the holiday weekend and thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the hotel. Check in was smooth and as we arrived very early were able to leave luggage and wander the 15 minute walk to the old town. Walk in was fine, but u bahn accessible if needed. Good location to visit most of the sights. Staff were all very friendly and accommodating, especially the barman who when we asked could we watch the FA cup final found it for us to watch. Had a meal in the restaurant which was delicious. The rooms we stayed in were very clean and well looked after and coffee topped up when asked. All in all a very relaxing stay.
Just left this hotel after staying 3 nights to catch an Aerosmith concert. It was ideal! Less than 10 mins walk from the central train station (after reading the previous reviews we made sure we came out of the right exit). Check in took less than 5 mins and the staff were extremely helpful and friendly, giving us a map, pointing out places we needed to get to and even explaining about the WiFi. We'd only booked a basic room so wasn't expecting much, but it was clean and had ac and a safe and mini fridge. It was only a 10 minutes walk to Karlsplatz and a further 5 to marianplatz. Didn't feel the need to catch the tube, but that was only a few minutes walk behind the hotel if we'd needed it. The area where the hotel was situated wasn't the prettiest at the front but we never felt unsafe. The hotel has a lovely courtyard in the middle to sit and have a quiet drink or bite to eat, both of which are reasonably priced. The only small downside was there wasn't always someone serving in the bar. But we headed into the centre instead and sat in the sun with a beer and watched the world go by instead. Would definitely stay here again and would recommend to anyone.
I stayed only for One Night. The Staff was very Friendly and the Room was spotless clean, possibly a Bit Too Small. The Location of the Hotel is very good, within walking distance of the Main Train Station. Take your Time for breakfast, it's Worth it. Will Return.
