Hotel New Orly is located in a quiet residential area outside of the City Center. It is a given as a 4-star rating, but I could not make out why. Why should this hotel be boutique was also not clear? It is a traditional, uncomplicated hotel. Nevertheless, the New Orly is offering a decent standard at an affordable price. The standard double room #11 is of an acceptable size. The double bed is made of two single mattresses that at pushed together. The bed is comfortable. A small desk and a chair belongs to the equipment. Tea/coffee and two bottles of complementary mineral water are placed in the room. The bathroom rather narrow is equipped with a shower stall. The room and the bath rooms are of modern design and clean. WIFi is reliable and fast. The breakfast ample. Freshly squeezed orange juice is a plus. There are many restaurants nearby. The Rotkreuzplatz subway station is in 10 minutes walking distance. The ride to the city center by taxi costs about € 10-12. The hotel has a few parking lots in the backyard. They are insufficient in number and were occupied during our stay. An advance reservation is recommended. Street parking is possible. The staff was attentive and friendly and gave useful tips when we asked information about visiting the city center.
The hotel itself is nice, clean ,fresh and reasonably decent value for money. Breakfast was good and was always well stocked. It's such a shame the service let's it down. On both check in and check out the service was average and very poor. On checking out there was no conversation, no thank you no interaction at all from both lady receptionists. I felt I was in their way.. It made me leave the hotel really annoyed and unhappy. It's such a shame that something that most hotels do a great job of this one doesn't. Easily sorted and something management should be aware of.
I stayed here a few nights in a double room. Bed very comfortable. Nice desk area for work and free WiFi. The WiFi worked rather well. Minibar and tea kettle. Bathroom is shower only. The radiator in the bathroom did not work. The water temperature in the shower has a mind of its own so be careful. Shower is a bit small but I am large sized and fit ok. But you can get suddenly scalded or frozen. Breakfast is great as others have said but small area. The hotel does tell you the optimum times to go there. Small gym downstairs and vending machine and coffee area. Meeting room also downstairs. The door to my terrace appeared damaged. It was snowing so I didn’t use it but the cleaning staff often opened it and left it that way. Nice side tables on either side of bed. Linens good quality. Complimentary still water in first day of stay. Many restaurants close by in easy walking distance. Valet parking only for a small fee per day. Has laundry service and plenty of power outlets including one normal one in the bathroom for a hair dryer (not shaver only like most places). Lobby undergoing renovation. Looks like it will be very nice when they are done with that.
The hotel reception area was being refurbished when we arrived. The room is small and the fittings seem cheap. There is however a nice balcony. The shower was terrible, there is very low water pressure and at peak times no water at all. Not acceptable for any standard of hotel. The breakfast choice is great, but the room is far too small for the number of guests making a very frustrating experience. Staff were very friendly. Overall hot and cold
It is a good hotel to stayover but I wouldn't choose if I stay more than a night. It is like a city hotel, if you are looking for a clean room with a reasonable price that's right address. The breakfast is good. There were fresh orange juice which I liked most. There is parking spot with 12 euro per day. There were baby cot for our one year old and high chair at the breakfast room.
We really enjoyed our stay at Hotel New Orly. When I booked our flight to Munich I wasn't even thinking Oktoberfest so when i went to book a hotel, it was tricky. Hotel New Orly ended up being a fantastic choice as it was a 25 minute walk to the Oktoberfest grounds. Quiet hotel, really friendly and helpful staff. Excellent breakfast. It is an easy commute from the airport on the S8 train to Donnersberger-Brucke and a 10 minute walk to the hotel. Lovely residential neighbourhood, very safe - can't say enough good things.
The hotel is in good location somehow, near the subway and train station, very small room but clean, good staffs in reception. The brilliant point of the hotel, is breakfast. It s really a wonderful meal in this hotel.
I stayed here for 3 nights and i would say it was one of the best hotel where i have stayed . Spacious room , quite and cosy nieghbourhood , nice breakfast , 6 minutes walk to U bahn station just two stop away from centre what else you want . I highly recommend this hotel .
the hotel was good value good location and good breakfast We had 2 rooms one on the ground floor and the other on the first floor. Both of the rooms we were staying in we heard a very loud noise on a fairly regular basis it sounded like the main lifts or a lift being used by kitchen staff whatever it was it was annoying in my daughter's room the maid came in to clean the room my daughter was in the shower and the maid stayed working also leaving the room door open My son in law who was furious made a complaint at reception the staff were mystified and said the y would investigate we heard nothing from them
This little hotel is very comfortable and convenient. It is just outside the city centre in an area with lots of public transport and place to eat or buy food in. The breakfast had a selection that would suit anyone. We booked a family room to sleep four, unfortunately if these are four adults it is very much a squeeze and tow of the beds are fold out chairs. These are fine for younger clildren but not for teenagers or adults. The hotel was able to accomodate us by giving us a second room which was just next to the one we were in. So if you have four "adults" the family room maybe too small but otherwise I could not really fault the place.
