This in not a four star hotel and staff leaves a lot to be desired. I emailed them 3 times to upgrade my room and received no response, better yet when staying there they forgot to give a wake up call, fortunately it was not a problem but if it were we would have to have spent another night. The hotel is under construction and on the second day we were evacuated because of a construction fire. The staff,s response to that, two gingerbread cookies and a Christmas chocolate. They have no suggestions for dinner and no knowledge of the neighborhood which leaves a lot to be desired. This is possibly the worst stay I have ever had in a Starwood property. I am truly surprised and blame the staff and management who were less that helpful from arrival date to departure. In fact CLUELESS
This hotel ticks all the boxes for us. Its close to the main station. The breakfast is sooo good plenty of choices to eat with lots of coffee. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The rooms ate nice and clean. When we return this will be our first choice.
We stayed here for four night. This was a girls trip. We had two twins pushed together but they had their own sheets and most importantly their own comforters. Nightstands had USB charges so we never needed to use the adapters that we brought. The room also had a hairdryer, a coffee maker and a mini-fridge. We never turned on the TV so I can't say if there were any English channels. Breakfast was not included in our room rate so we didn't eat there. A little far from the Christmas markets (at the end of the day when you are tired and cold) but only about an 11 Euro Uber ride.
I'm not one for long, complaining reviews but I must provide a cautionary tale. The hotel is quite old and it shows; paint chipping, loose door handles, clogged shower drains...you get it. The tv claims to provide no less than 10 English language channels, but only CNN is available in reality. Hope that's your cup of tea. Otherwise, prepare to become fluent in either German, French, Italian, or Korean. The breakfast was €19; way too expensive for this caliber. Lastly, the hotel is in scenic nowhere. If you're on a budget and just here for a day or plan to never be there, stay here. But it's a winding , rocky walk from the hauptbahnhof to the hotel. The hotel itself is almost on a back road. Thankfully, the receptionists speak good English. I won't be returning...
A new shopping mall is being built around the hotel and there is a huge amount of noise from the construction work which includes digging up the balconies of some of the rooms below, it's loud enough to make the walls shake and there is no way you can stay in the room during the day. The work starts early and the weekend is no respite - I was woken at 730am on a Saturday by drilling noise. It can also go long into the night (they were working at 845pm one night). For this reason do not book this hotel unless you are out of the room all day long. During my stay the fire door in the corridor was repeatedly blocked open .. which is a bit ironic considering there had been a fire two weeks before and half the hotel was closed as they made renovations due to smoke damage. A search on youtube for "noise munich Sheraton" will give an idea what the noise is like when three jackhammers are digging up the balcony of a room! The mini bar fridge in the room did not work although since it was winter the balcony was a handy place to leave my drinks. Next time I will try a different hotel in Munich.
It is not a top hotel. We had a small room with a small bathroom. Bad ventilation, you take a shower and everything is misted and wet. There is only one small elevator, which might slow you down as you have to wait quite some time. Small fitness center, just a tread mill, a few stationary bikes and some free weights. Parking difficult, in an adjacent parking garage, which is very busy and you might find a free space only far away from the few hotel spaces. On the positive side, there is a very good breakfast with crunchy rolls and baguettes. All in all a hotel an ok hotel, nothing special. Good location, however, if you go to Munich for the Oktoberfest.
Four Points has a good location (more residential area) but thats about it. Rooms are functional, though big. Everything seems to need a refurbishment. Breakfast is alright. The plus side is the craft beer selection at the bar.
It is an average place to stay. Not very central. Central train station is about 500 metres away. Reception staff is warm and welcoming. Breakfast is more than average. For breakfast I will rate it as 4. Cleanliness was OK.
This was our second stay at this hotel. Once again we were impressed with the staff. Lea was extremely helpful in sorting out my room needs. I had two rooms reserved as my brother was with us this time. She was very patient and took the time to make sure we were comfortable with our rooms. The staff were always polite and friendly. This was all the more impressive if you could see on a daily basis what they had to deal with during Oktoberfest. Many noisy guests who were not interested in behaving nicely while at the front desk. I witnessed the staff always remaing calm and pleasant. I agree with earlier reviews regarding the location of this hotel as well as the quality of the breakfast(great!). There is construction right next door, but they do everything within their power to minimize the impact to their guests. One more special mention goes out to Yvonne who gave us some great day trip ideas! Overall I highly recommend this hotel! Location is great for Oktoberfest and also within a short walk to the main train station. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Staff really sets it apart and is the reason for my 5 star rating.
Can't beat the location for Oktoberfest. You can see from your room when the festivities begin in the morning. It was an easy walk from the train station (10 minutes) as well as well Marienplatz and the city center. It was awesome to easily walk 5 minutes back to the hotel after drinking a few too many beers at Oktoberfest. Clean, well-run Starwood property. Pretty nice for a four points. Breakfast was superb given that it is a Four Points.
