Declined Room Even with Prepaid Booking!

I booked this hotel to get a few hours of sleep between flights. It is roghly 1 km from the airport but my Taxi Driver couldn't find it and it too close to an hour. Upon arrival, the Hotel Clerk said he had no reservation in my name and that the hotel was fully booked! This despite me showing him my online booking with confirmation number and that I had prepaid for the room! I then had to overpay for my taxi to get back to the airport and wait out for my flight there.
