After last two stays in that property I made a decision to write a kind of farewell letter, similar to those that we compose when decide to change the company. In this case I decided to change my preferred hotel in Moscow, already have two candidates and will make up my mind soon. After 5 years of being a loyal customer I was lured by the hospitality and progress in other hotels while Intercontinental Moscow decided to sacrifice service in favor of evident cost reduction. Of course, the hotel is still modern, rooms are spacious and equipped with comfortable beds, location is a walking distance from everything. But now I know that I will not hear anymore following nice statements: As IT system is during overhaul it takes half an hour to check out As they replace their stocks, towels are in short supply As a holder of a highest IHG program status I can forget about room upgrade as I still had not reach the privileged position which is granted only to really special guests (seemingly by someone in the IHG management who pretends to have almost saint status) As I am not accompanying my wife in particular trip the reservation made on my name is not valid and only the generosity of manager on duty could allow my wife to stay And many other nice things… Bye.
I liked everything about this hotel, from check-in to check-out Staff were very helpful and friendlyand English language was spoken in all departments of the hotel in opposition to many places in Moscow where language skills are still abysmal. Good choice of cooked items in the breakfast. Room was comfortable, if a little hot - would like my pillows firmer WiFi was excellent would definitely go again.W
Right from a great ambient lobby to its spacious rooms, given the fact you are in Moscow and to manage a stay at such property and location is a blessing. The hospitality given by its staff is amazing. My reason to give it a 5 is its very friendly staff. Good breakfast spread. The hotel is very well equipped with all the amenities.
This is my first visit and stay at Intercontinental Moscow. We stayed from 21oct to 24oct. Location is very centralised at Tverskaya Avenue. From Domodedovo Airport is about 45 minutes to 1.15 hours. It is depend on the traffic. To SVO airport is about the same journey time. Check in was smooth and fast. Thanks for the Check In staff that explained all informative things around the hotel. Room was very clean and spacious. Bath room was very clean, spacious and good smell of their in-house spa scent. I was appointed to club room and enjoyed their club benefits as well. Breakfast at club lounge was adequate and with high quality food. I love their atmosphere in the club. The most important is the staff that made it outstanding. Thanks to all the club lounge staff for their genuine attention and hospitality. You are a gem in the hotel. Thanks for Anna and other two staff. And I didn't get a name of a lady with white shirts that always served us during our stay. I would like to thanks her as well. I love this hotel. They made me feel like home away from home. Truly hospitality and good service. Concierge was very helpful and always offer help. Gym was in good size. I didn't try their in-house spa. There is no swimming pool in the hotel. Location of this hotel is top notch. Lots of local restaurants nearby. We had introduced to try at Meatless restaurant nearby and we loved it. To Red Square, it is only 15 minutes casually walk. Subway is within less than five minutes walk from the hotel. I am sure that I will come back to Intercontinental Tverskaya. My room was 700.
I'm staying for few days for business in Moscow and you know how it is - you need a bed, a shower... It's not that much when it comes to furniture in your hotel room :-) There are though some small details that can make your day in travel more joyful. I enjoy food and especially breakfasts, as good breakfast provides you energy for the whole day. Getting to details, of course a 5 star hotel will get you a decent breakfast. What matters is the atmosphere around it, the team that stands behind it. Today I was served by a young man Mikhail, that made me smile in the morning and in the end offered a takeaway coffee (which is a brilliant idea I never thought about before). Well done team. Keep it like that.
I stayed at Intercontinental for 3 nights in September. Excellent choice. Everything was perfect. Room size, set up, public areas, Club lounge. Top service and very helpful staff. Added lounge access for the last night that included dinner and breakfast. The lounge was nice and relaxing and food standard was very high. very close to the Red Square and only 1 minute walk to the Metro. Definitely recommended.
so first of all I live in Moscow, same city where hotel is located - there were two reasons I decided to spend the night at the hotel - 1. My very good girlfreind was having the wedding party in the restaurant just across the street and 2, I received hotel's SPA certificate for my birthdays in September so I decided to kill 2 birds with one stone... I was so sorry later... First of all my apartment is about 20 minutes walk from the hotel, but obviously I needed to bring presents, nice clothes for tha party and change of clothes for next day... so had to drive and it took about 40 min ;-) but of course hotel's not responsible for the traffic situation... 2. arrived to hotel at 19-00 - having 3 bags of stuff - no vallet present, no one to help with the luggage, i was lucky my partner went with me, so it was him who unloaded everything and moved it to the lobby, while I was searching for the space to park the car... 3. hotel has some car parking space, but no one bother to advised it to be until i returned and went for the check-in... 4. check-in person very happy face and curvy lady didn't bother to say sorry about luggage situation - said "I'll pass it on to the vallet team"... 5. re upgarde - I obviously booked simple deluxe king room (about 100 euro per night ) and because of my IHG Amb status I got "upgraded" to Superior room on the 9th floor, whith the view to tvesrakaya street, which is nice, but windows on that floor were extremly tiny (like 1.5m x 2m) if you compare to all other floor-to-ceiling windows on the other hotels floors ... so maybe no upgarde would be better? 6. I explained to check in lady that I booked the SPA for two (2 hours long) for tomorrow from 2pm and she happily advised we'll have 5pm checkout time tomorrow no questions asked and next day when I was trying to get to the room from the SPA keys obviously didn't work... 7. pre-odered fresh fruit plate on the IHG application as welcome platinum amenity. but got chokolate covered strawberries with some coconat powder and nuts (I'm allergic to both)... 8. it took about 20 minutes for the room service to bring the ice 9. hotel has no pool and if you want to use the steam room you need to book something from the SPA as I was advised, gym is old, equpment is outdated so if you paying for weekend in Moscow or staying at the hotel for similiar to mine reasons maybe you better consider other hotels near by or keep your 100 euros at home, since if you want to have a nice stay outside your apartment in Moscow IC hotel you will need to fight for it...
We came here in holiday with my husband The service is great, friendly staff, lovely spacious rooms, clean Fantastic breakfast!! Very helpful concierge, arranged our taxi rides and train tickets Very prompt And is central, walking distance to the red square. Would highly recommend it
Stayed at Deluxe twin + * Very attentive staff including breakfast service * Right next to the Pushkin square and the tube (metro). Highly convenient! * Elegant reception and hall * Very comfortable bed and pillows * Larger size toiletries but would not praise the quality * Very soundproof * Feels well secured * Good concierge, kept theatre tickets for a week for us * Good room size - * On arrival they pre-authorise double the price of the room * Very overpriced breakfast for what is offered. You do not get a prosecco or cava not mentioning champagne but the cheap sparkling wine * Poor cocktails at the bar, once again overpriced for the question * It does not have a full feel of a 5* hotel you would expect from the Intercontinental as a brand=> 4* max I'd award. A bit tired and needs freshening up
Stayed here for two nights on business. Reception staff all spoke perfect English and were very friendly and helpful. Beds are comfortable and rooms are modern and quiet - a good nights sleep means the world when you are travelling a lot. Breakfast is a bit steep for what's on offer and most times I went to get a smoothie or yoghurt the bottles were empty but only a minor complaint. A little advice - it took us 3 hours to get from the airport in a taxi as the traffic along the embankment in the city is just horrendous. Take the airport express and the metro - 5 minute walk from the hotel - and save yourself two hours !
