Location: Excellent, right by a metro and walking distance from the red square and kremlin. Room: Quite dated. Bed was comfortable. Service: Generally good. Concierge was very helpful. The most memorable service I've received in this hotel. Reception staff was ok. It was good but there's room for improvements. Check in and check out was quite slow. Can improve in this aspect and not make customers wait in line. Facilities: Gym, pool, sauna and jacuzzi was quite small. Nothing worth mentioning. Price: I got a relatively good price so it was ok. Would not feel it's value for money if I'm paying the standard rates.

It is one of the best places to stay in Moscow, with a amazing location, steps from Kremlin, Red Square, Gum Mall and Metro Station. We had very wonderful stay here. The concierge staff was superb, ever smiling and very helpful.. Anna, Tatiana, Julia etc. The breakfast was very good and so was the ambiance of the Hotel. A must stay property in Moscow.

We recently visited Moscow and had a nice stay at the historic Hotel National just off the Kremlin and Red Square. Hotel National was opened in 1903 and has very much maintained its turn of the century and modest Art Nouveau atmosphere and feel. The building exterior, staircases, floor hallways and glass roofed lobby bar are all enjoyable while the rooms are a nice touch of modern luxury and old-world charm. Reservation was made through booking.com. The hotel processed our invitation paperwork within one day, allowing us to proceed with our Russia travel visa applications in Hong Kong expediently. We were well received upon arrival. No early check-in was available for our room but you can finish check-in paperwork and avail of luggage storage if you want to make way to the Red Square to start your sightseeing in Moscow. Hotel location is superb. There is direct access to the Metro no more than 30 metres from the hotel entrance, allowing you quick access around the city. More importantly, you are just across the street from the most important sightseeing in Moscow. As for our room, it was what you expect of a five star property, tastefully decorated with beautiful and comfortable furniture, making for pleasant place to relax and unwind after long days of sightseeing. Importantly, bed mattress was as comfortable as we have found in many years, allowing outstanding rest. Bathroom was a bit small but quaint while all fixtures worked perfectly. Room came with expected fridge, TV, Wifi, Heating-A/C and spacious safe. What we will remember most however will be the delightful views of the Kremlin and Red Square including St. Basil's Cathedral from our room. Again, this made lounging in our room in the late evening to be such a delight. In the end, we very much enjoyed our stay at Hotel National. This a perfectly located and delightful historic hotel in Moscow. We would happily stay here again the next time we are in the city.

The National Hotel was a perfect place to stay in Moscow. I was traveling with my family (2 adults/2 children) and Moscow was our last stop in a 4 week vacation. All was perfect at the National. The hotel is across the street from Red Square and the Kremlin, a 3 minute walk fro the Bolshoi and Revolution Square and within walking distance off all that you might want to visit as a tourist in Moscow. The room were very elegant and regal in an old world way with all the modern necessities: hard work floors, very high ceilings, elegant entrance. The staff at the front desk was very professional and there were 2-3 at the concierge desk who all spoke very good English. We did not have the buffet breakfast but did eat at Dr. Zhivago restaurant which was excellent and well priced for a seemingly upscale venue. We had brunch in the glass enclosed "vodka room" which was fun. There is a Ritz Carlton and Four Seasons within view of The National but I would stay at The National without question when I go back to Moscow.

Overall its all about location and the hotels location could not be better. It is right across the red square and you should splurge for a Kremlin suite if you can because the view is amazing day and night. The suite was large and had a jacuzzi as well. Everything was clean and in good working shape. The decor is 19th century which we liked a lot. Reception staff were polite and welcoming as was the concierge. Breakfast was OK. The only thing I think is worth mentioning as critique is that they should add a nesspresso machine or at least a kettle for coffee and tea making in the room. There are plenty of restaurants around and Dr. Zhivago is in the same building and very nice as well.

A nice old style hotel ,with the traces of what was once the best hotel In town for all royalty and heads of state. In the room furniture is a mix of old and some modern in little strange but nice service is attentive but could be better. Though the location is great to visit Moscow !

We booked a Kremlin view room and it did not disappoint. We looked out our window directly to st Basil's cathedral and Kremlin Walls. The room was comfortable and stylish with plenty of amenities and staff on reception and concierge were very helpful and polite. We had a cocktail in the bar and I can recommend the Anastascia , one of their signature cocktails. The breakfast room also had an excellent outlook and a wide variety on offer. We enjoyed our stay.

The hotel is near the kremlin , nearby the metro, the metro is very easy to use although it's not written in English, just follow the signs 😃 The hotel is very clean , breakfast is marvelous, and the stuff is willing to help, lots to do near the hotel , and lots of good restaurants at the area Excellent

I stayed here at the end of a river journey from St Petersburg for 2 nights. We had requested a Kremlin view and were not disappointed. The room was lovely and spacious, with a 'lobby' type entrance for suitcases and coats, walking then into the main bedroom with 2 windows overlooking the Kremlin, Red Square and the museum. The ensuite was perfect offering choice of bath or shower and was also a good size. Beds were really comfy with good pillows. The staff were most pleasant and helpful from the reception desk, the concierge, to the doorman. The concierge booked our meals at local restaurants both nights and helped us with directions as both were within walking distance. Breakfast provided a great choice of cold cuts, fruits, patisserie, or cooked - lots of choice and lots of it! The restaurant overlooked Red Square and I couldn't think of a more perfect way to start our day. If I come back to Moscow, I will definitely stay here again.

This is an hotel redolant with history from the baroque interior to the location which is peerless. Having wasted some two and three quarters of an hour at passport control at the airport to finding that 12 May was national holiday (which meant that the streets around Red Square were closed and access only through police checkpoints which necessitated a decent foot slog with luggage) my view of Russia was thoroughly tainted. That tainting was alleviated by the excellent service at the reception desk. The room was a decent size comfortably appointed and the ensuite fully equipped. There are two restaurants on the premises both of which are franchised out. The Dr Zhivago was impossible to book at a reasonable hour because it is where the local smart set hang out. The other restaurant was impressive to look at with windows facing the Kremlin with St Basil's cathedral also in sight. The food was fine if you like sturgeon (the fish not the Scot) and caviar - I don't. The foyer bar also does food which is excellent and more international. Would I go back - yes.
