Hotel Metropol Moscow

I booked a twin deluxe room with City view through Orbitz. The room I received did not have the view. The receptionist said they cannot guarantee the view because I booked through Orbitz. Essentially they blamed Orbitz and said I should have booked direct with the hotel. They said they would check to see if a room would become available but did not follow up with me, nor did they offer any upgrade to offset the mistake. If the hotel is going to accept money through Orbitz, they need to be in sync.

Had a good experience.great location, home felling.

My husband and I stayed at the Metropol Hotel during our visit in Moscow in early September. The hotel is at an excellent location surrounded by the Kremlin, Red Square, and Bolshoi Theatre. Amenities at the hotel are excellent while the hotel staff/concierge provide outstanding services. Fantastic hotel in Moscow!

Good place to stay, best of location, room is bit dated, full of history

Fantastic hotel right in the heart of Moscow, next to the Red Square, many restaurants, and 2 different Metro lines. Service is impeccable!

This hotel was beautiful, affordable, and perfectly situated right on red square! It's soviet-esque decor and architecture make you feel as if you've gone back 50 years in time, but in the best way! The Rooms are clean and comfortable, the dinning hall is huge and gorgeous and all for an affordable price. I brought my parents here for their first visit to Russia and they loved it! I highly recommend this hotel.

Wonderful location and a very pleasant hotel, filled with history and beautiful places

Excellent location, close to red square and boljshoi theater.. But it needs serious updating. Especially in the rooms . You have a problem trying to find place to plug in your Mobil devices. Doormen can be more friendly and not to look at you with suspicion.

Excellent location, mysterious interiors, but nothing more.

I stayed just for one night transit in Moscow. The stay was great: the hotel's location is unbeatable, right on the side of the Red Square; the hotel is a grand old dame with large rooms and a beautiful dining hall; the breakfast buffet was unbelievable with blinis and caviar; and the staff - all fluent in English- could not have been more helpful (I am a frequent traveler but it was my first stay in Moscow)

Hotel in excellent location. Very dated bathrooms and fitness center. No were near 5star amentities

well located, no restaurant nor bar open late night.

I want to thank the Metropol staff for helping me get my visa support documents. The location was perfect for visiting Red Square and surrounding sites. The staff was very cordial, helpful and patient. Arrangements for car service back to the airport were made as well as dinner reservations at a great restaurant to enjoy the Russian experience. The hotel is beautiful and food was great. The breakfast buffet was fabulous.

the staff was rude unhelpful unfriendly. even the managers i dealt with were unprofessional and robotic and extremely un-knowledgeable. i also stayed at the ararat hyatt and that was a dream compared to the metropole nightmare
