When we first started looking for a hotel in Moscow allot of people said "keep in mind that 4 stars in Russia are most likely not equal to 4 stars in Europe". In our experience this is total nonsense! I've stayed in a 4 star hotel in Spain that was way more expensive, that wasn't even worth 1 star compared to this hotel. First off, the entrance is beautiful! The guy that checked us in wasn't very nice and seemed grumpy, spoke almost no English. But the room made up for that.. we had a room on the 19th floor and I would recommend the higher, the better! The view was amazing! I couldn't believe my eyes! The beds are incredibly comfortable and the rooms are very clean. When we left the room for the first time, one of the housekeeping lady's was in the hall. We had a question about the fridge but she spoke not a word English. However she did everything in her power to understand us and help us anyway, she was so polite and very kind! My mom always brings her own pillow sheets when she goes away from home. So the second day when we got back to our room, there was a letter that asked if the pillow was okay and they had different options for pillows if she preferred a different kind. Later we found out that on every floor there is a maid available at all hours if you would need anything or for an emergency. We stayed here for 5 day and on the third day we needed help because our keycard stopped working. The guy behind the desk this time was extremely helpful and very kind! At the last day the concierge printed out our planetickets, I believe his name was Eugene. He was also very kind and helpful! So overall the staff are great help and very nice. The location is perfect, a 5 minute walk from Old Arbat. That's great after a long day of sightseeing you don't have to take a metro because Arbat is very nice in the evening with allot of places to eat. There is an underground tunnel that will take you there, just go right when you leave the hotel, than cross the road to the left and you will see a tunnel that leads you straight to Old Arbat. When you walk through Old Arbat you will quickly see a Mac Donalds on your left. The street right next to Mac Donalds will lead you to the nearest Metro station. Don't worry about the Metro, it can be a little intimidating at first but it's pretty easy once you get the hang of it. The Russian letters are still pretty easy to translate to English, you just know it when you see it. All and all I would most definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Moscow. I would stay here again if I'll ever be lucky enough to visit this amazing city again.
Hotel was average. Very good location. Close to many nice areas such as Arabat street Staff were not very friendly though. Clean good size rooms. Hotel close to coffee shops, minimarkets and bank. Best place to exchange is banks.
The location is ideal! It is a great establishment a for family and friends and for any other occasion. Located right across from the Ministry of the Foreign Affairs, the hotel is only a few minutes walk from Arbat Street, Kievski railway station and The Red Square. Rooms, however, were not clean or taken care of, unfortunately...
Stayed here last week and had an OK stay, the hotel is in a good location but is a little tired. The rooms in particular are a bit depressing. Not much else to say about it really, it's just quite underwhelming.
Golden ring hotel is a lovely place to stop we had a beautiful room with amazing views on the 13 floor we could see all the amazing buildings river etc. We had complimentary champagne on arrival as we were celebrating a big birthday. Breakfast is 1400 rubles per person worth every penny as food is not cheap in Moscow so hotel breakfast is excellent value for money.we had drinks every evening in the bar again well priced.service from every member of staff was excellent. From the train station hotel is a 10 walk over the river bridge to hotel. We travelled on train me From airport to hotel no problems at all straight forward. Get on the airport shuttle train to Belarious then 5 min walk to metro station 2 stops to kievl and your there sorry may have spelt train stations in correctly. We got taxi from metro to hotel cost 500 rubles worth it as we didn't know where to go. Definitely close to all attractions we walked to Kremlin about 45 mins do the Radisson river cruise amazing views of the city. Shopping centre next to metro is beautiful just to see the waterfall shows. Choose this hotel you will not go wrong it.enjoy Moscow
Room was nice good size, clean with a good view. We had a nice rest for two nights. I noticed that the visitors were mainly business people and tourist from Europe. Food was good and prices was decent. I would stay again in this hotel.
Nice room with great view (upper floors) over the city, comfortable bathroom and quiet environment Bar is nice with affordable prices and professional staff The situation is less satisfactory with the front desk that is understaffed with poor experience (unable to anticipate the evening traffic rush to book a taxi: the result was a significant delay to join a business meeeting)
Me and my colleague had to spend a night in this hotel before flying to Denmark. The hotel is very good with a very friendly staff. Nice location near the Old Arbat. There's a little shop downstairs that sells souvenirs.
Stayed here a week recently with my family (three teenagers). Hotels oozes old world charm (they have a harpist at breakfast and a violin player at dinner), rooms are comfortable though a bit dated but service is good (concierge lady did an excellent job for airport transportation), food is very nice and location is excellent (close to Arbat and subway, walking distance to city center if you're sporty). Would recommend for a genuine experience.
If your traveling for business avoid at all cost. The noise is going trough the air conditioning, you will enjoy the neighbors on both side. Someone smoking? Guess what it leaks in your room as well! Now, have a look at the good comments, the spelling seems to attest many have been written by the same person..
