Me and my colleague had to spend a night in this hotel before flying to Denmark. The hotel is very good with a very friendly staff. Nice location near the Old Arbat. There's a little shop downstairs that sells souvenirs.
Stayed here a week recently with my family (three teenagers). Hotels oozes old world charm (they have a harpist at breakfast and a violin player at dinner), rooms are comfortable though a bit dated but service is good (concierge lady did an excellent job for airport transportation), food is very nice and location is excellent (close to Arbat and subway, walking distance to city center if you're sporty). Would recommend for a genuine experience.
If your traveling for business avoid at all cost. The noise is going trough the air conditioning, you will enjoy the neighbors on both side. Someone smoking? Guess what it leaks in your room as well! Now, have a look at the good comments, the spelling seems to attest many have been written by the same person..
The Golden Ring Hotel in Moscow is a great hotel, great location and very nice and helpful staff. The Hotel is located near Arbat st. and an easy walk to Red Square. The restaurants on the top floors are very nice and have an amazing view of Moscow
My friend and I took a holiday in Russia, finishing up in Moscow. We’d had some excellent accommodation all around, but were ‘peaking’ in Moscow at the Golden Ring. Wish we had saved our money! The hotel was clean and well laid out, but the staff were surly and unhelpful. The room was extraordinarily hot, but the air conditioning didn’t work when the lights were turned off - why? Why??? The staff just shrugged. The mini bar was locked, and we weren’t allowed access, but were quizzed as to whether we had taken anything. I asked where I could get stamps for postcards, and was told that the concierge would take care of it. I handed over all the postcards, and the money. Over a month later and not a single postcard has arrived. Very disappointing, and left a sour taste. I am sure there are some great hotels in Moscow, but I really would look for somewhere else - and certainly don’t hand the concierge any money to do anything, unless you want them just to pocket it!
Not a 5 star hotel. Standard room was ok, bathroom too. Place is run down somewhat and the service is just ok. Not a bad experience per se but definitely try smth else if looking for a 5 star experience. Haven’t tried the brekkie.
The Golden Ring was in an excellent location and was a very comfortable and clean hotel. We had a junior suite which was wonderful as we were there for 6 nights. It had a sitting room, bedroom, a powder room and a bathroom and a good view. We enjoyed a meal in the Panorama Restaurant which was very good. I couldn't fault this hotel as a place to stay in Moscow. The Metro was only a 5 minute walk and was extremely easy and cheap to use. It was also within walking distance of the major sites around 30 mins but a nice if you were up to it. There were plenty of good restaurants and supermarkets within 5-10 minutes walking and the Hop on Hop off bus stop was about 10 minutes walk. The staff on the concierge desk were extremely helpful with information about Moscow and also organizing taxis and ubers. Very good value for money and would definitely stay again when visiting Moscow!
The location oh the hotel is in very good place ,from the hotel you cam get to all directions easily .The rooms are big and very clean ,and have differernt city views . The room service is very quick and very helpfull , strongly reccomend this hotel.
We had a lovely room on one of the top floors and the view of Moscow was breathtaking. The breakfast was amazing and yes, there really is a harpist playing in the morning. The staff were so helpful, a big shout out to the concierge who was amazing, what a lovely lady. All in all, a thoroughly enjoyable stay. Look out for robbing taxi drivers though, get the fantastic concierge to book the local ones for you!!
