We stayed at numerous holiday inn on the West Virginia circuit, this was the least favorite of the bunch. Check in was great...and then down hill. My daughters were harassed at the crowded pool, which I don't blame the hotel, but the noise that went unwatched and ignored was ridiculous. It did not stop at the pool. There was constant , uncontrolled, rowdiness in the hall ways all night. We called the front desk, nothing done. Felt like the staff allowed it to go on and did not care what complaints were made. I had to get out of bed and stop the noise with another person on the floor. Ridiculous. Next day, apologies were made over cold coffee and a weird smell in the lobby area. Not the best stay
My wife and I were here for a weekend. Wifi is easy to connect but very slow. No free breakfast, but a restaurant is connected to the hotel. Close to the stadium, health center, and campus. The gym was ok, a couple treadmills/ellipticals/one stationary bike and free weights up to 50lbs. No hot tub. Room was great - bed was super comfy and the TV is a big flat screen. Bathrooms were nice and everything was clean. Coffee in the room and free coffee/tea downstairs.
My Boyfriend and I stayed here on a trip to go pick my puppy. Our room was very clean. The staff was super friendly and kind. Our room had a beautiful view of Morgantown. We had dinner at atrias connected to the hotel. Staff was wonderful.
My friend and I stayed here while in Morgantown to attend a WVU football game. The close proximity to the football stadium, I understand allows them to command a higher rate, but I couldn't help feeling like I didn't get my money's worth. I will start with the positives: friendly staff, clean room, pretty decent continental breakfast included, walking distance to a couple places to eat, nice looking lobby/common area. Now for the negatives: $200/night, the room had a stale funky smell and the bathroom had the persistent odor of residual vomit (we actually bought air freshener at the nearby Family Dollar to try to help - it didn't), the curtains were torn and duct taped, and the worst part was that the beds were awful. We had two queen beds, and my friend and I each felt like we were sleeping in a shallow grave. I usually actually love hotel beds, but this one was the worst I've experienced in a long time.
Driving in from eastern Maryland at midnight we were tired and stayed here for a good nights sleep before moving our daughter into a new apartment the next morning. It's convenient to the highway. Breakfast attendant needs to be more friendly but food was fine. Bed was great as always and always clean. The building itself would benefit from air freshener but thats not to say there's any bad smell.
5 of us stayed here while on a cross country motorcycle trip. We had no issues at all. The staff was friendly, the rooms were clean & comfortable, the breakfast was good and the dining area was fairly large and clean. We will stay here again. Recommended!
As good a bang for the buck as I have ever had. Rooms are spacious, neat and very clean. Great location to visit with lots of restaurants near by. Ample parking with cameras on parking lots. Staff is very capable with a decent continental breakfast. I will return.
Good location for us. Nice, older H I E. Comfortable stay. Nice size room with little refrigerator and microwave. Had a king size bed that was comfortable with nice pillows. Quite window unit ac unit. Just couldn't keep the morning light out from the center crank in the drapes. But that was the only think I didn't like. Good selection of food on the breakfast buffet for a HIE. Nice pool and hot tub too. In a mall area with a lot of restaurants real close but hotel is quite. Would come back.
We had a good night's stay at this property while traveling I-68. The hotel is close to the interstate, and located adjacent to a shopping mall that includes a number of restaurants, including Flying Fish & Co, at which we had a great casual dinner. It is also only a short drive into downtown Morgantown as well. The hotel is not one of the chain's newer properties and was a bit worn, but was comfortable and staff were helpful.
While we were on the road traveling we stopped here overnight. The rate was very reasonable and the accommodations were large and clean. The staff was friendly, professional, and informative...Even at 1 in the morning! The free continental breakfast was basic, but good. They had some cinnamon rolls that were memorable. Would definitely recommend to friends and if we were in the area we would stay here again.
