We chose this place for its size (small) and location (Latin Quarter) and were pleased with both. The location is close to really good restaurants that were recommended by the very helpful receptionists. There was a street fair or carnival going on the whole time we were there, and it was fun being right in the center of the action. And, amazingly, our room which was not even 25 feet from a trampoline (i think) was totally quiet. We heard nothing once we were inside. Breakfast is delivered to your door on a tray, which was convenient and tasty (the breakfast, not the tray). The rooms - if you are in any way unable or unwilling to navigate stairs, make sure to request a room on the first floor. Our room, #1, was delightfully designed and furnished, and very conveniently located a few steps from the reception desk. Our friends' room was up two flights of very narrow and steep stairs, but they had a sitting room and deck, as a bonus. So, if you are young and in shape, ask for the third floor; if old and out of shape, ask for the first floor. We would absolutely return. . . To room #1!

Really nice hotel in a great location: right in the heart of it all. Directly across form a theater with great entertainment--plenty of places for dining and entertainment---15 minute walk to old downtown. Superb management.

The hotel is in the midst of the vibrant St. Denis district yet the rooms are quiet and relaxing. Loved the rain shower and the very comfortable bed. Continental breakfast outside the door each morning was varied, fresh and sufficient. Lots of bars and restaurants nearby, theatre opposite and the old town only 20 minutes away. All of Montreal feels safe and welcoming.

We had high hopes of this hotel based on previous reviews and we were not disappointed! A comfy bed, massive shower, decent sized room with plenty of storage space, fridge, coffee machine and juice/croissants/pastries left outside the room every morning to set you up for the the day. The area (rue St Denis) is vibrant with plenty of bars/restaurants and feels safe. Would most definitely stay here again.

This is a small Boutique hotel with a central location, clean rooms and very helpful staff. The complimentary continental breakfast basket each morning was a nice touch. Great location made for a very pleasant stay. Will tell all my friends about it.

We stayed two nights at Le Relais Lyonnais in early July 2017. It had been recommended to us and we loved it. Great for couples, it's situated on rue St. Denis, in an area with great brew pubs, and an easy walk to Old Montreal. There are modern furnishings in a older building, with comfy beds and linens. Continental breakfast is delivered outside your door every morning, and you have a very good coffee maker and fridge with real milk and cream. All you need to start your day. Management is very friendly. We lucked in to an upgrade, with a terrace, which was a plus, but we saw a couple of the regular rooms and they are fine, very nice bathrooms with great soaps and gels. The 747 shuttle bus from the airport stops quite close by and costs $10.00 - definitely an option if you are flying, but there is also parking available - not sure of the cost. Highly recommended for couples. Would stay there again for sure.

The 2 of stitched together a trip through the East, and Montreal ( celebrating their 375th founding anniversary ) was on the list! This hotel fit our bill perfectly. Very European, in that is small, no elevator, and in an urban setting. No views to speak of , but comfortable, highly efficient, and great location near the Metro, hop on/off bus, walking to old Montreal, and all the bars and restaurants, let alone theatres, you would want. Agree that is can be a bit off-putting after sunset ( street people, etc.) but that is the default of most cities these days. We felt safe, and the staff were amazing. American plan, so expect pastries, in room espresso and juice in the mornings. Charming, and highly recommended.

We were on the ground floor, in room 103 at the back of the hotelThe room is quiet and private, very clean, and with a very nice but fairly small bathroom. This was a great location for walking to Vieux Montreal and the Old Port, Chinatown, and through a lot of Montreal neighborhoods, and it's a block from the metro station for easy access to almost any part of Montreal. We loved the in-room coffee maker and the lovely little basket of croissants, juice and muffins each morning.

We just spend two nights at Le Relais Lyonnais in room 103. Room 103 is on the main floor at the back of the house. Very quiet and away from the street noise. The Theatre St. Denis is directly across the street, so perfect if you are attending a concert. Many restaurants/bars at your disposal. The check-in was smooth and the very helpful gentleman provided us with a local map. He also gave us suggestions for vegetarian dining and jazz clubs. We were pleasantly surprised with a selection of small muffins/croissants each morning, along with two orange juice and water bottles daily. The fridge is a good size (holds a wine bottle and beers). The bed is very firm. Almost too firm... but I much prefer this over a soft bed. The bathroom is very modern and clean. I'm not sure how they keep their grout spotless! My only complaint (and not the hotel's fault) is the number of homeless people right outside your door. The first morning we got up, there were four people sleeping under the staircase of the main entrance. Scared the living daylights out of me! Also, when returning home in the evening, they follow you right to your door and speak in french very rapidly... you have no idea what they are saying, but they clearly want money. It makes you nervous. I'm not sure if this is reflective of all of Montreal. I would stay here again if attending a concert, but I might try a different neighbourhood if I was returning for another reason... just to try and get away from the homeless gangs.

We staid in Room 202 , at the back of the building, on a Monday night. The room was an average size, very clean and had all that a traveller needs. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was well stocked with quality produce and spotlessly clean. The hotel was quiet in early April but I suspect that, in warmer weather, noise could be a problem as it is conveniently located in an area with a lot of restaurants with patios and directly across from Theatre St Denis, a major entertainment complex. A continental breakfast of juice, coffee, croissants and muffins was provided to our door. There was more than we could eat and more available if we should have wished more. The owners of the establishment were extremely helpful in providing us information on dining options. All in all, we would stay there again but would be prepared for late night noise if there on a fine weather weekend.
