Courtyard by Marriott Montreal Downtown

3.5 out of 5.0

Recent guest reviews

We were in Montreal for a 5 day vacation. The location is convenient, close to Place des Arts and is in the downtown area. Fridge and digital safe in the room are great amenities. The room is clean and spacious.

Conveniently located within walking distance of downtown and old port area, plenty of restaurants and great shopping. Top notch on-site amenities and very clean/safe hotel. Staff was friendly and helpful. On-site parking a big plus... Would definitely stay there again! Also great atmosphere in town as the Canadiens were playing at the Bell center, less than 1 mile away... and Ste-Catherine street is always entertaining. Found something fun to do for all ages

We booked a standard king room but instead we were put in a handicap room. This would not have been an issue but the room was just very congested and tight (which I thought for a handicap room should have a little bit more room). Also, the bathroom door does not stay open, you have to keep pressing the button, also the bathroom had a tub with a shower curtain contrary to what was pictured which is a shower with glass doors. Finally, we called the front desk and we were told that they'd give us a door stopped to keep the bathroom door from closing. But we agreed to just ask for a room switch. We were asked to go to the front desk to process it, so we get there, we were dealing with Melissa, who seemed to be bothered by us switching, we profusely apologized and although she said it was okay, she made it seem like we were inconveniencing her. Then the next day, we showered at about 10:30am but there was no hot water, called the front desk and was told they were getting calls about the same problem and they've reset the hot water but we need to wait 20 mins. It was 6 degrees outside and they simply were not ready for the demand for hot water. Must I mention that it was also hard to gauge the temp of the water, we'd have the dial set in the middle but piping hot water would come out that it almost burnt us then when we try to turn the dial all the way to the right which would be the cold water, it would just get hotter and hotter. It wasn't such a big deal but it was a pain.

I enjoy the stay at the hotel. The room is comfortable and beautiful. It is at walkable distance to Chinatown and Notre Dame of Montreal. I park my car at their garage, it is easy to use.

Hotel staff is very friendly and helpful. They were always happy to answer any questions, give you directions and call a taxi. My check in was effortless as I checked in via my mobile phone app. My room was clean and I was in a corner room which made for lots of light and nice views of the city. The hotel has a quiet policy after 10pm and I appreciated that since I was there for work and coming from CA, was experiencing some jet lag. I had room service one night and it was good. I wished the menu had more options. I also ate in the restaurant one afternoon and had a burger and fries and it was delish. The staff was super nice. The day before check out we needed the hotel to store our banner container and have it shipped out UPS on Monday after we left. They were happy to accommodate us which helped us out.

We traveled for the weekend from New England for a bachelor party and it was a great experience! Friendly staff and located in an easy to navigate area of Montreal!

We were able to walk to Old Montreal and the Metro was convenient.

We really enjoyed this hotel and would stay again.

This hotel is great. It is new, clean, modern and has underground garage parking space. Withing walking distance of museums, restaurants and shops!

Stay was excellent. I will highly recommend for any one.Best location .

Was not aware that the room did not have a bath tub and only a shower Everything else was great!

We stayed at the Courtyard Downtown primarily for the Womens World Cup. The hotel was in a great location close to the jazz fest, old Montreal and a Starbucks and restaurant in the hotel made it perfect. The staff was friendly and efficient and very helpful with questions and directions. Also, the Metro is only a couple blocks away.

Spacious room with great amenities. Location is along main road and made it easy to catch the bus to/from airport.

Great for a quick overnight trip to Montreal. Great pool and hot tub perfect for families.

Great hotel for the price! Very friendly and helpful staff. Housekeeping was a little lax with extra wash cloths (maybe it got lost in the translation). Lovely fitness room with plenty of equipment. I would definitely stay there again.

Came to stay at this hotel for 3 nights for my birthday...the location was the best part! We had a car but ended up walking everywhere(Crescent st., old montreal, a few malls are all around the area. The staff were extremelying helpful as well!

Just opened Sept. 2013. Walking distance to the Convention Center and shopping streets. Very nicely done. Staff was pleasant and helpful. Nicely appointed and spacious room. Bathroom was also comfortably sized. I WOULD like them to switch to a bath soap that does not break apart so easily. Inhouse restaurant was also very good. Not overpriced for such things.
