Absolutely a hidden treasure of a location and amazing gardens. Wonderful staff and literally minutes away from the breathtaking beaches. I was truly impressed. I was so happy to be able to experience living in Carmel by the Sea.

The only good thing about this property was the location and the mattress. Other than that, it was a very disappointing stay. The room had an awful musty smell, it was very dusty as well, you could see the dust all over. Wall paint coming off everywhere , corroded edges on the mirrors, nasty bathtub, with very old corroded Drain fixtures, cheapest toilet paper we have ever seen in a hotel, old towels. For the price paid, we were very disappointed and will never come back or refer to anyone.

Absolutely beautiful. A block fom the beach. Very spacious room with fireplace. Highly recommend getting an ocean view room.

Hotel was one block from the beach. Unfortunately that week end the Governor shut down the beaches

The small in/room has fireplace was a nice touch and the bed was super comfortable. They need better gluten free bread and pastry options. They also need to get better in-room coffee and lobby coffee offerings. In-room fridges would be good too.

Just a really nice place to stay. Great location with easy beach access and pretty close to the village and all its restaurants. Kind of hard to find, especially with Carmel's insistence on no street lights (man, it's DARK!!!). Personnel are friendly. Continental breakfast was better than most.

This hotel experience was OK. The facilities are old with small rooms and bathrooms. The layout does not provide for much privacy with windows facing out to other areas that guests walk by. It is a quick walk to the beach but would rather have stayed in main strip of Carmel and walked a few extra blocks to get to beach. The complimentary breakfast was better than expected and a nice start to the day there. I was able to obtain parking there but there were issues with other guests who could not get a spot and the hotel staff said that it is 'first come first serve' even though the hotel website says 'parking on-site' which would infer there is enough for every guest. For the one night, it was find but would try elsewhere on next visit.

The hotel is located in a great sport. It is close to the beach and walking distance to shopping and restaurants. The room is bit small and shower is tiny but overall it's comfortable. The biggest issue is the bed. The bed slumps in the middle which makes sleeping restless for both my wife and I. We had a rough night sleeping in the bed. We hope they upgrade the beds as seem they are well worn and is a good investment for hotel.

We stayed for 2 nights this past week and couldn't have been happier with our choice of hotels. It was less than a 3 minute walk to a beautiful beach, and our room was very comfortable and clean.. would definitely stay here again!
