Stayed here for the price. Not sure why budget lodging means ashtray odor. Check-in was courteous but as soon as I stepped away from the lobby desk and onto the carpet the cigarette smell hit me. Hallways, elevator and room had faint but lingering cigarette smell. On the plus side, since I stayed for 4 nights I was acclimated to the odor after a couple days. Just hoped I didn't carry the smell on my clothes to work. When I go back next week I plan to try another hotel in the immediate area with the assumption that it probably wouldn't be worse and might be a little more pleasant.

The staff was super friendly, the breakfast was delicious, and it was located close to freeways and fast food places. Great stay, would definitely stay again!

This Hotel is OK but the staff was not very well trained. Greeting was not really friendly. The breakfast was not good. Bathroom was well remodeled but the beds were not comfortable at all. I paid 188 for one night and the service was not worth it for the money. I usually go to Hampton Inn in Salinas Area but that day they were sold out out so I had to go to BestWestern Plus. This hotel would not be my first choice next time.

We finally arrived at the right best western (there are two very close together). I noticed the outside of the building was nice. There was enough parking even though we got there late. The inside of the best western was okay in the lobby. The breakfast area is right there when you walk in. Our room was the first one on the first floor and directly across from the elevator and staff area. I was not thrilled with our room location because it was a bit noisy through out the night. I was planning on keeping the fan on throughout the night but it did not work like that. Once the AC temp was reached the fan would turn off. The room was extremely clean and spacious. The bed was decent. Overall this is a decent place to stay in Salinas.

Very clean hotel, good breakfast, better than other hotels in this area

Great breakfast set-up. Staff did a great job re-filling , so we never had to wait for our food.

Price was OK. But room was very comfortable. Great Bed and linens. Room had almost everything but a microwave. Will come back again.

The hotel was very clean and the staff that I dealt with were very nice. The complementary breakfast was nice. The weather was to cold that Saturday, so I didn't get to experience the pool but it looked very nice. Nothing to really complain about except maybe the cost. A little more than I wanted to pay.

I needed a room for a last minute, spontaneous trip to Monterey Bay Aquarium. This hotel fit the bill. It was a little overpriced but I'm sure that had to do with being last minute. It was priced closed to/slightly less than other comparable hotels for the same night. The room was clean and beds comfy. The breakfast was what you'd expect for a free breakfast. The walls are thin so you can hear the neighbors but that's pretty industry standard for this level of hotel. I will say that I have a tendency to be particularly critical of cleanliness and even borderline germophobic but I didn't get the heebie-jeebies at all and felt pretty comfortable during my stay so that says a lot.

We were attending a wedding in Monterrey and needed a place to stay for a night. We picked this hotel because of good reviews and it had suites and a free breakfast. We stayed in room 211 a king suite. Room looked dated. Furnishings and decor did not match. Separate AC for living room and bedroom. AC in bedroom was cracked and not working so bedroom was hot. TV in living room cannot change channels. Otherwise it was ok, and we liked the free breakfast. We were also allowed to check in early. Hotel is right beside 101 freeway but we could barely hear any noise from our room.

Better quality furnishings than most for a three star. Only disappointment was the breakfast...barely warm, no serving utensils.

This was a perfect spot to stop on our way down the the 101. A little challenging to find without a map, but once we found it, enjoyed it very much. Staff was very helpful and friendly.

The room is clean, the staff is not very friendly though...overall its pretty good.

Not in the best part of town but has good access to the highway. Margie's Cafe is a short walk and has good diner food with large portions and a nice staff.

It was clean and the staff was responsive. The hotel itself, however, was nothing special and it's location was certainly nothing special.

not bad, pricey for what I received $150 for one night!

Clerk at check in could not tell me the rate and could not divide the two rooms book on to two credit cards. Nor could the credit card used/billed to, be confirmed. Clerk at check out could not confirm if the rooms were billed to which card. matress appeared to have a cover that bunched up, making for un uncomfortable night's rest and morning shoulder pain, which I have never had before.

the hotel staff did a fantastic job. my time during moto gp weekend make it so much easier

Close to freeway and quiet. A bit pricey for the quality of the facility. Very cheap furniture. Blankets and sheets hard and heavy. Poor water pressure. Carpet seemed in need of repair. Breakfast was ok. Very nice staff. Conclusion: if it's a last resort, book a room... If you can spend a little more elsewhere, you might want to consider the fact that a few more bucks a night will probably get you a room MUCH nicer.

Front desk greeting could be better. My sister said their room wasn't that clean.
