I stayed here for a staycation for my birthday, and unfortunately, it was one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve had.
First, when I arrived, the staff was on a long smoke break and came back reeking of smoke—not the most welcoming start. I usually love Country Inns (I often stay at the Woodbury location and always have a great experience), but this location fell far below expectations.
The cleanliness was unacceptable. The room had spiders and bugs by the window and in the corners. I requested room service before leaving for my birthday activities, but when I returned, the room had not been cleaned at all. My boyfriend and I had to spend another night in a dirty room.
When I reported this to the evening front desk staff, he brushed it off with, “Oh, they didn’t come clean?”—and did nothing to resolve the issue. On checkout day, I spoke with the assistant manager (I believe her name was Ashley), and it was clear she didn’t know how to handle complaints. She had to ask other staff what to do, which is very unprofessional for someone in a management role. I was told I would receive Choice Points within a day, but I still haven’t received anything.
Overall, the customer service was horrible, the cleanliness was poor, and management was completely unhelpful. I will not be returning to this location.
