Mercure Milano Centro4.0 out of 5.0

The hotel is central, walkable to Duomo and right by a metro stop and in a good neighbourhood. The hotel is not modernized, using bulky keys rather than key cards. My room on the top -4th- floor was in the attic with windows facing up but offering no views. Elevator only went up to 3rd floor so stairs were required. Breakfast was basic, which is typical for Italy. There was some scrambled eggs bacon and sausage. Wifi was okay but required re-login with password if you didn't use it for an hour.
Clean n tidy little hotel. Walking distance to Duomo. Friendly staff. We stayed there for two nights. Value for money!
Having stayed in other Accor hotels, this was kind of a surprise, a small cozy hotel with a kind of classic style decoration. No big chain hotel feeling, even though it was part of one. No complaints on cleanliness or breakfast, it is what you can expect in this price range and there was a free table every morning. The bed was good, air condition kept the room cool even on a hot day, international channels were available on the TV and a small safe for your valuables. The WiFi worked and had sufficient speed. Coffee and tea and some cookies were there for free. Minibar fridge is large enough for your own drinks. This hotel has a convenient location, you can reach Milan's attractions either by walking or by the metro which is right in front of the hotel. You can basically walk from the front door right to the station from where you can easily reach most of the important landmarks and sights. There is also a tram stop and a taxi station across the street, a few restaurants and a grocery store on the same block. Things to consider are that it is next to a busy intersection so you will most likely hear traffic noise if you have windows towards the street. Inconvenience were the old fashion mechanical keys and locks, so you might hear door locks opening on the hallway because of this plus they are a bit cumbersome to operate compared to a modern key card. I stayed in this during the Formula One race and the Monza track can be reached fairly easily, either by metro plus bus, one kilometer walk to central railway station and train to Monza or by taxi which was around 45 e one way. So this hotel is a good option for a Formula One tourist.
We stayed in this Hotel quite a few times during the last few years...The location it is very good as well as convenient for us and for anybody that wish to know Milan and also move from this location to any part of the city. The Hotel is clean and well maintained; however, the service is everyday worst...we have a privilege status on this chain but it seems that here it does not matter. We just received a couple of hard green apples as a welcome greetings for our loyalty...totally different from other hotels of the chain, here we never got an upgrade and neither any special attention from them...the staff has been changing over the last couple of years and from being nice and kind now are discourteous and unhelpful..we gave them one chance after other trying to get an improvement ad it did not happen...
A nice hotel, but not too fancy. The beds are quite hard and the pillows very thin, so not the perfect sleep. Once we decided that the room they wanted to give me was not the room I purchased through Expedia everything seemed to work out. Within walking distance of many restaurants and also the main downtown area. Easy to walk to places like the Duomo. They spray the room with a sweet room spray every day. This is not too pleasant. All in all, a good hotel.
Would have no issues in recommending this hotel, we walked from Milano terminal, took about 2o minutes. Hotel located well to the city areas, we only had a short stay on our way through, so only had a walk around the city
I stayed here for 2 nights very recently. The hotel, just north of Milan centre is a great little hotel with 68 rooms in a boutique style. The hotel is decorated to a high standard, in traditional colours, with terracotta painted walls, to give an authentic look. Stairs and a lift take you to the third floor and stairs to the top floor with a stained glass window being featured as you go up. Reception staff were very helpful and willing to answer any question or satisfy your needs including printing of travel documents accessible from the on site computer and organising the wake up call as well as providing directions. There was a nice intimate lounge area to the right of reception and a small breakfast area. Breakfast consisted of boiled or scrambled egg, hot hams, sliced frankfurter, cold meats, cheeses, cereal, pastries/breads, fresh fruit, pancakes, fruit, yoghurt and freshly made coffee and can be pre-paid when booking. The cappuccino was great and the staff attentiveness was top class. Despite the hotel being full, no noise was heard from other guests, nor was there traffic noise despite the hotel being near a main road and directly outside the Venezia subway/underground. Rooms were traditional with a small bedside table, writing desk, tv and a chair. The room was smaller than some I've stayed in but I expect that from a building dating back more than 100 years. The bathroom with a rain shower was decorated with ornate ceramics, bidet and had toiletries included. A speaker was also in the bathroom so that the TV Could be heard. Maid service is daily with the coffee station refilled and towels refreshed. A Minibar is provided and Accor reward guests get the first drink on the house! There is no on site bar/restaurant but there are 3 restaurants on your doorstep and that traditional Italian restaurant, McDonald's, 100 yards down the road. The hotel is about a 20-25 min walk into the centre of Milan and walking in a straight line takes you right to the Duomo. Tube is €1.50 for a single trip and can be used for 90 mins after first use. The hotel is also about 10 mins by tram to Milan Central train station and just over an hour by coach from Malpenza airport. Summary; A great little boutique hotel, centrally located, decorated to a high standard with friendly and attentive staff.
Mercure Milano Centro is avery nice and classy hotel right in city center of Milan. The location is very nice and quite close to Milan Central Station which is the main train station in Milan. From Central station you can either take bus number 9 which stop right in front of the hotel or you can also take Metro M2 (Green Line) toward Gassate and change at Loreto Station (just 2 stops) to M1 (Red Line) to Porta Venesia Station (just 2 stops from Loreto). The hotel is right in front of the Porta Venesia Station Exit. It is also just walking distant to Duomo, or you can take Metro M1 (Red Line) to Duomo Station (just 3 stops from Porta Venesia). The hotel is located in the tourist area and there are many restaurant nearby, so, getting a meal is not a problem at all. The staffs are very nice, friendly and helpful. The room is very nice and clean with a classy decor and the bed is very comfortable. It is highly recommended for place to stay in Milan, either for business or holiday.
Very nice hotel in the middle of Milano. Good price-quality relation. Breakfast buffet allows you to compose your breakfast according to taste, hunger, diet etc. - and service is fine. Absolutely a hotel, we would like to visit again
Hotel is conveniently located near a Metro station as well as close to a tram stop. It is not exactly close enough for walking to the central part with the Duomo but still a good location. Directions to hotel on the website could be better particularly for most convenient exit. The hotel is quite small for a chain hotel (3 floors with 60-70 rooms). I would normally associated the building with small hotels you find in major cities in Europe (i.e. low-rise older building with not the most efficient layout). The room was not very big but you can see that they make an effort but you can only do so much with the available building structure. It is clean and they bed was nice and comfortable. The staff was friendly and helpful and made a room available upon our arrival. There is free wifi but the sign-in method is not the most efficient. The one thing that I didn't quite understand is that they did not replace any of the items in the coffee bar. I stayed for 3 nights so that means I ran out of creamer, preferred coffee by the time I left. It was also rainy in Milan and they did not have sufficient umbrellas for the guests. I happen to stay in the hotel over a weekend where prices for all hotels in Milan were shy-high (and I checked quite a few places). As such, while the hotel was decent and clean, I cannot say it is value for money.
