Cleanliness fell short

This villa has an excellent location and Beautiful. It was well built and furnished, but unfortunately has been neglected and ants were everywhere. Instead of enjoying our time there, we had to deal with the ants living there. It was also listed that it comes with washer and dryer, but the dryer was not functioning and we ended up having to use a Laundromat. To be fair, the agency was responsive when we contacted them, but the issues were not resolved to our satisfaction.

Property has been recently refurbished it is bright modern and spacious, lots of outside space to relax and steps from the property to the beach. There is a bar restaurant close by on the beach. Further along for shops and restaurants you are in walking distance but it is by a busy road. We loved our stay and hope to return.

Property was really good apart from the invasion of ants! Pool excellent.. Air con in bedroom ok but on a 2 hour timer so had to keep getting up in night to put it back on again as it was so hot!

Cala de Mijas

The house is quite nice with a lot of terrace space and direct access to the sea. We found that the house looked quite a bit smaller than it appeared on photos. We had a bit of an issue with the fact that the air con, although available in every room, was only working on the timer for 2 hours at a time. Also the sunbeds were definitely in need of replacement, most of not all of them were worn down and not comfortable at all. Otherwise location is quite good apart from being right next to a highway, with the town centre being a short walk away. It was nice to have direct access to the sea albeit you need to walk a little bit in order to enter the sea without any rocks(quite a few sea urchins so should be careful. Abi was a helpful host and the checkin and checkout process was smooth.

Lovely beach front property

Great family villa with good pool and good location right on the beach front. Walk into La Cala itself isn't great, can't walk along the beach at night so have to walk next to busy road; Not perfect but only 10 mins or so therefore OK. Villa maintained well and very clean, lots of ants to contend with! Abi was very welcoming and handled all our questions and issues really well. Overall it was a great villa for a family holiday with lots of outside space by the pool and a family meals outside. La Cala was lovely also. Not sure I would go back again but very happy with the villa and overall holiday.

A lovely long weekend

A group of 9 rented the villa for a special occasion and we stayed for a long weekend. The location was great, the villa was spacious, clean and had everything we needed. Julie & Abi were available before and during our stay to answer any questions we had, they arranged airport transfers for us all and were a great help. We were able to check in early which was great & had the most amazing stay. The only down side to our trip was that we didn’t book longer, there is always next time. I would most definitely recommend this villa

Amazing villa in fabulous location

Stayed in this wonderful villa for a long weekend. 10 of us stayed & there was plenty of room. The villa is just how the photos show it if anything it’s even better. Superb location with a lovely restaurant right next door. Our party had a great night at Olivia’s La Cala, great food and excellent service most definitely worth a visit. Everything is local and within walking distance. During our stay we did have an issue with the downstairs toilet not working, but Abi was easy to contact & sent a maintenance man quickly out to fix it. Don’t leave any food out as it will attract the ants, even nuts left out attracts them. Apart from that, this villa is fantastic and I would highly recommend it. Will definitely be returning.

Fantastic stay at Villa El Chaparral

We have rented more than 12 VRBO properties in different countries. This is a fantastic property and we had a great stay in La Cala de Mijas. The layout of the house and the external living area (pool and patio) works well. The property is even better than what is shown in the pictures on the website. The house and external living area are appointed comfortably. The kitchen is large and well appointed. We were not even aware of the lower patio and room that is close to the beach. The property is closer to the village than we were expecting. There are great supermarkets near by (Mercadona is by far the best). Another point is that we made day sightseeing trips to Malaga, Cordoba, Gibralter, and Tangier, Morrocco. The location of the house near A7 and west of Malaga made it very easy to get to all of these locations, particularly Gibralter and Tarifa for the ferry to Tangier. Abi, thanks for letting us have a great vacation in this great house.. Rob and family

Wonderful location!

The house and location were fantastic - plenty of room for the nine of us and just as described. It's a short walk to town for restaurants and small shops. We took one day trip to Granada but otherwise mostly relaxed by the pool. We highly recommend this property!

Fantastic Villa By The Sea

The Villa lived up to the images on the property description. It was a really comfortable and stylish holiday home that accommodated our family group of 6 adults , 3 children and 1 infant without any problems. Bar Sherriff next door is very handy with good quality food and service. Mijas Costa is a really nice place particulary for families or couples and Olivia's although quite expensive is well worth a visit. Abi is easily contactable should you need help with anything as their office is in La Cala De Mijas, so that is reassuring. The walk in to Mijas takes 15 mins and a taxi back is only 8 euros, you may find it better to do it this way as the walk is alongside the busy road. While this could be a slight downside for some people our group agreed it was a minor and did not detract from the overall experience.

Perfect girls weekend away

The villa was perfect ! What you see here is what you get . Abi was very helpful from start to finish and even arranged transport to and from the airport . Perfect location and just a short walk into town . My friends and I did not want to leave ..... highly recommend staying here I know we will definitely be back .

Our party of seven recently stayed in the house and loved every minute of it. The property is very spacious, clean and has a wonderful outdoor living area overlooking the water. It was clean and well appointed. We had plenty of common space but could also retreat to our own rooms and bathrooms. We would definitely return.

Great Villa with everything you need

Group of 10 adults and 2 children stayed here and we all had an absolute blast. The villa is well equipped with everything you need. 10 minute walk into La Cala with numerous supermarkets, restaurants and shops. The bus stop is right outside the villa where you can get direct bus into Marbella or Fuengirola. Each room has it's own en-suite. Although beware that the children's bedroom is connecting with one of the other rooms and therefore you have to walk through it. I wasn't aware of this and it was a bit annoying at nighttime making baby bottles and having to walk through someone elses room. The hot tub had way to much cleaning products in it and it stained all our towels and swimming gear (even some jewellery) after using it so it needs to be looked at. Apart from that, the villa really is perfect and Abi was a great help in answering all of my questions

Property and location were wonderful. We were very disappointed that the hot tub was not in working order , since we had just driven all the way from Portugal, where it was very cold. The ice and water dispenser on the fridge was also not working. The agent was quick to respond to the fridge issue by dropping off water, and was available if we needed anything. I really feel that all advertised amenities should be in full working order upon arrival and if not, visitors should be compensated for missing/out of order items.

WOW, it was amazing

We stayed here 3-6 August, there were 10 of us, 5 couples. The house and it's facilities and surrounding area was amazing. My husband and I stay close by a few times every year so know the area well. This villa ticks every box. The staff we booked it through were fab, they organised our transfers, explained the security in the villa and how everything worked. Over the time we were visiting we had call them when the Spa stopped working but someone was sent to look at it very quickly and it was back up and running. The restaurant next door was great, we ate there twice. The villa itself had everything you could ask for, clean and luxurious, lots of attention to detail, right down to Sonos system. We were all very impressed. Only a 10 minute walk to the nearest shops in La Cala, which has lots of lovely restaurants. Only a couple of minor things that could be improved and these are absolutely minor and did not upset our stay in any way was having acrylic glassware for the patio area, you can see how easy it would be to have glass on the patio which would be difficult to clear up. Also a supply of dishwasher tablets, if you are only there for a couple of days it's not something you would necessary buy. This could be added into the cost of the rental. We are already planning our next trip back, we enjoyed it so much. You really did not need to leave the villa apart from buying supplies.
