We stayed at The Park House over half term, with my mother and our 2 sons. So ages ranged from mid 80s to 10. From the moment we stepped in side, we all breathed a sigh of relief. Everyone was so friendly and efficient and nothing at any point was too much trouble. Once settled in, we made use of all the facilities, tennis, spa etc etc. The food was excellent and as a vegan, the staff and head chef went out of their way to prepare delicious vegan food for me. We had a wonderful few days of family time and were truly looked after beautifully on all fronts. The house is lovely on the inside and the interior is country chic without being over the top, and the gardens are lovely. Sarah the GM runs a very tight ship, in a discreet and hands on fashion without there being a feeling of the staff being supervised. Everyone was very polite and well trained. If I had to nit pick, I would say the food was a little slow on a couple of occasions, but we had been warned that they were a little short staffed on one day. The only other negative is that the double beds are quite small, the next time they change them they should really think of putting in full size doubles or at least queen size. The superior room we were in was certainly big enough to accommodate a bigger bed. The bathroom was lovely with a great power shower and the excellent products were replenished daily. There was also evening turn down service, which seems to be becoming a lost art in many hotels. After 3 days we had really settled in and all felt very at home. Leaving seemed strange, almost like leaving your own house. Thank you so much to the whole team at The Park House. Will we return ? YES YES YES !!
I have visited this hotel in January with a girl firend for a spa weekend , we stayed in the annex and had a gorgeous twin room with a balcony. We enjoyed the spa and had agreat massage followed by full use of indoor facilities and a swim. I loved this place so much w booked the cottage so we could bring our dog and celebrate my husband birthday with some good friends .weather was fabulous so we were able to use the outdoor pool, we cant find fault with Park house anywhere, everything is just as it should be and we will re visit again. Our friends have already re booked .it was nice to have our beloved dog with us in a secure garden area and they welcomed her not tolerated her Thanks .
From the moment you arrive you know that it is the relaxed atmosphere that wins here. The staff are calm, friendly but not overly so, and attentive to your needs. As we arrive a helicopter took off from the lawn which really says everything about who's who here. We lunched in the lounge where it was quieter away from the busy restaurant followed by a walk through the well manicured grounds. I cannot recommend this place enough for a relaxed get away.
Our room was in a small block next to the Spa. The bedroom and bathroom were clean and it was a relaxed atmosphere. We had lunch outside at the hotel which was delicious and not overly priced. The spa was great for morning swimming and we booked manicures and pedicures beforehand for the Saturday, ready for the wedding were attending that evening in Chichester. Always book Spa appointments before arrival to avoid disappointment. Overall our stay was relaxed, comfortable and most enjoyable. I would definitely stay there again!
Booked a table via email for a family lunch of 9. I should have known things wouldn't go well when I had to email them twice to check if it was all booked! As it was a surprise for my wife I arranged that the family were there before us and they arrived at 12.30. We arrived at 12.45 for a 1pm lunch. We were met by a waiter who enquired after my name. I told him and he announced "oh some have already arrived"' surprise spoilt", although perhaps to be fair it was not his fault as he wouldn’t have known it was a “surprise”. I had to chase for menus and to get someone to serve drinks, even though we were shown into the bar area. I had to chase the bar staff to get us pre-luncheon drinks. We then waited for over 40 mins before again I had to ask if someone was going to take our order. Eventually sat down at the table around 45 minutes late 1.45pm. Served an amuse-bouche at approx. 2.25pm. Starters arrived 2.40 some 15 mins later. They did bring the kids main course at the same time which was good. One of our party driving ordered a coke. We had to ask more than once for the order. Served main course OK and then the waiter took our orders for pud. Waited an inordinate amount of time. Two puds arrived which we did not order and then 1 child and 1 adult left waiting so long everyone else had finished their pud before, again, we had to ask where the missing puds were the explanation given was “there was some confusion!” BTW there were some staff busying themselves clearing tables but no one seemed particularly interested in our table or thought fit to check if "everything ok" for each of the courses ordered. When I went to pay I was asked if everything OK. I did explain to the 2 ladies in reception the problems as I saw them. However, other than a "oh, that's a shame" there was no real concern shown or any attempt at offering apologies. It seemed to me that no one really cared, which is a shame. The other “odd thing” was we were placed on a long table for 9 people in a room which was probably better described as an “ante-room” as it was the room between the hall to the reception area and the bar. Consequently there was a bit of traffic between the rooms as people passed by going elsewhere in the hotel; as a consequence there was no “intimacy” or ambience. As a consequence and as a local man with friends and family in the area we will not be venturing back or recommending. I have to say on a positive note the food, when we got it, was lovely, well cooked and well presented, so top marks to the chef. I can do without the complete lack of attention and care shown by the waiting staff; very indifferent and frankly very disappointing.
Its our second long weekend and we will book again because there is so much to like. The spa treatments and staff are amazing and do just what you want. The smaller element of the hotel means you don't need large numbers of showers etc and it works well to feel almost personal. We stayed in Polo Cottage, having a room each with its own lounge and works well for us. Its is near the kitchen and perhaps the kitchen staff need to be told when its occupied as you can clearly hear conversation. We love the fact that this is a small hotel with friendly and helpful staff. The is the odd bespoke request that can take a while or be forgotten. They are not big deals but just a small thing to tighten up. The young staff are charming but need more knowledge of the of the food and drink on offer so more training and tasting of what is very good food. We had a superb dinner with the rhubarb and custard soufflé the best desert we have ever had! Equally the cheese board selection was exceptional along with the sweet wine and port. The location is fab with really great walking (and if you are really lucky you may even see a lovely tiny fawn as we did) and far reaching views from the top of Bepton Downs. We hired bikes from All Ride Now in Midhurst who are also really helpful.
We stayed here for a night to celebrate our anniversary. Bedroom was lovely, food was pretty good (everything needed more seasoning though, which we heard quite a few guests mention, I know you can season yourself after but generally I haven't had to at restaurants). Thought the staff were very good, polite and friendly. I am not sure I would come back here for a meal, it was enjoyable but not great. Spa was pretty good, it did get quite busy with members on the following morning so was quite noisy when in the changing rooms (which aren't that big) and the showers were all full as a class had just finished. Voya products available in the shower and really nice. The best bit though was both my husband and I had had Voya Voyager Total Massage Journey which was 85 minutes and I have to say it was the best massage I have ever had in any spa or salon, it was excellent and the ladies really knew the body so would work on any knots they found around the shoulder blades. My massage (and hubbie) gets 5* - both ladies were lovely (I had Hannah and my hubbie had Louise) and would come back for that massage alone to be honest (may well come back just for the massage as close to where I live).
My fiancé, dad and I treated my mum to a spa day for her 60th birthday. After booking the spa package over the phone, I was sent her spa day gift voucher and itinerary to gift wrap for her in the post. The team over the phone were very helpful so I had high expectations for the day. When we arrived at the spa we were greeted by our host Claire, who could not have been more warm and welcoming to us. We got shown around the facilities and how to use the different features. As the day was a treat for my mum, Claire was extremely discreet when some products we'd arranged for mum's treatment hadn't arrived on the delivery and kindly gave mum a complimentary upgrade to a different treatment that she was equally thrilled with. Although there was a slight change, it was done with professionalism and in no way spoilt our day. Having visited many spas in the local area, this one is by far my favourite. The quality of the facilities and attention to detail were fantastic- including the cleanliness of the spa. We both had treatments and enjoyed the warm heated beds and relaxation room. What I would suggest though if you like to relax and not talk during your treatment is to kindly advise your therapist of this. All the therapists we met were very friendly and were very informative about the products which are all organic from Ireland. We sat outside and enjoyed lunch on the patio area, although slightly chilly they brought out blankets and put the heaters on which was a lovely touch as well as bringing out a birthday cake slice for mum. The only tip I would give if you'd like a more peaceful experience is to arrive early and enjoy the facilities before the afternoon guests arrive. With 5 weeks until my wedding day the spa day was also a lovely treat before the big day and I would happily recommend the spa to all my friends and family! Very much looking forward to going back!
The Park House hotel provided our family with a truly amazing venue for a very special celebration over the Easter weekend. The staff were efficient and friendly and served an excellent lunch to 16 of us followed by a wonderful outdoor afternoon of fun on two grass tennis courts, a croquet lawn and a modest short course golf course in their own grounds. The weather was warm and dry (a bonus!) and the hotel was presented in immaculate condition throughout.
Myself and 3 friends spent the day at this little Hampshire paradise after a busy weekend and a hefty night out. I cannot recommend it highly enough (and not just as a hangover cure). From the minute we arrived at the spa we were treated wonderfully. They'd graciously squeezed us in as a late booking, waited patiently whilst we faffed about trying to figure out who was paying and bought us endless supplies of water and carbs by the pool. Nothing was too much trouble. Not only that, it was incredible value, the treatments were exceptional, the setting wonderful, the facilities as good as any high end spa I've ever been to. I'll most definitely be back.
