Had a four day stay at the clay. The hotel is old but all you are paying for is a place to sleep if you're coming to south beach. There's a lot to do but my wife and I spent most of the time lounging on the beach, which is only two blocks away. The hotel has an agreement with Esteban's beach service which provides you with two loungers and an umbrella as part of the hotel package. In all we had a great stay and would recommend the clay to anyone looking for affordable accommodations who are not expecting to be pampered. That's not what this place is about.

Had roaches don't stay. Wouldn't stay for free. Breakfast was bad. Room small and bad smell.

This was my third time staying at this hotel. This hotel is a bargain in South Beach when compared to the prices of other hotels. With the money you save by staying at this hotel, you can budget all the more money towards splurging in other things. Although the hotel is not brand new, it is definitely clean and I felt completely at home. My room was also quiet at night and I stayed there for 6 days. There are restaurants all around of varying price ranges. There is a small supermarket just across the street where you can buy just about anything you would eat at home. There is also a daily resort fee of $16, which covers the costs of two chairs and umbrella at the beach as well as towel service. I would have had to of paid twice as much to get a hotel closer to the beach and that would have left me less money for splurging.

First time in Miami with my boyfriend and 2 friends (another couple). Great area ! Right in the middle of pretty much everything. 2 blocks down from the beach. Our room had a balcony, and the staff was very friendly. Only problem we had was one of our rooms door lock wasn't working so they switched them into a king size room. So it worked out. Had a great time. Only wish the hotel had a pool. Other than that, I would recommend it.

Need to improve a lot the breakfast. For a continental breakfast only waffles and toast it's very poor!

Not a big fan of dead pigeons on balcony. becoming just a sleeping headquarter with climbing rates, stuffing the place with as many rooms they can by eliminating a beautiful guest lobby on second floor sad.

They rented like it's in Washington Street and it's a full block away in a place that is nothing like they're advertised

Great location and price . It also comes with refrigerator and microwave

I was not comfortable with the condition of the hotel ...it needs a update bad and the rooms and hallways stink and the balconies is not safe

The main lobby is on Washington Street, and it also opens onto a closed-off street plaza with many patio-style restaurants. The area was still under construction, so there was lots of construction debris and broken tiles. We didn't know that our rooms were in a different building, one block down, through restaurant row. It was hard to navigate this with our luggage. There was a locked gate (we used our room key to open it) that led into a small spanish-style courtyard. There was no elevator, so we had to bring all our luggage up the stairs one flight. There was a locked door there too, so I felt there was really good security. I was traveling with my husband and my adult kids. Our room was fine, but the kids got a room that smelled moldy. They slept with the windows open and that seemed to help a lot. The staff was friendly and helpful.

great Authentic South Beach experience. ROOMS were so contemp and clean and cool as hell.. Close walk to the beach also.,.,They also have beach chairs on the beach.

Terrible experience, our room was on 3rd floor (this property does not have elevators nor do they provide any assistance with luggage) the shower was not functioning. Construction happening on the entire floor, with dust and noise all around. The breakfast is a joke - stale bread with coffee and if you're lucky some oranges! The desk staff is horrible and rude- didn't provide any receipt - gave a lame excuse that there printer was not working.

Great location and neighbor, hotel under construction too much noisy can't sleep at all. Room pretty clean and front desk lady ( tall skinny in late 50) she can be nicer. Breakfast poor and coffee is terrible( how you can go wrong right on Cuban neighborhood?)

The room was small but remodeled and clean. Perfect for me and my wife. We don't spend much time in the room so it's perfect to sleep, change and for the bathroom very simple. It's always clean when we get back with new clean towels and sheets.

The hotel is divided into four complexes non which have elevators the stairs are narrow and long which makes for a difficult journey as you try to climb them carrying your luggage the area is under construction so not a pretty site the ceiling fan in my room was not working I would say the only good thing was the free breakfast every morning that you that to walk to four buildings down.

Rooms super tiny, shower curtain smelled super gross had to ask them to change it. The last night there a bum was sleeping in the lobby, since I was put in the way back building. The only great thing was location.

Beautiful hot spot also the food was great. ..the complimentary breakfast was blah. .no eggs no meat please change that. .other than that I will come back again thx

Clean accommodations with energetic street and nightlife all around. Balcony added to the view and experience.

This was a pleasant surprise. Hotel is in a great location for restaurants. the beach is a nice 2-3 blocks walk. You can rent a beach chair and umbrella for free if one uses the renter they recommended.
