SoBe Hostel & Bar

Hostel is close to the beach and bus stop. It is clean and welcoming. I received a complimentary welcome drink, breakfast and dinner when I was there. I just didn't like the late night music and street noise I can hear from my room which is over the bar and facing street level. Otherwise, a clean, comfortable place to stay.

I stayed here at the end of August and had one of the best times of my life. I just went to Miami to go to the beach and party on a budget and that's exactly what I got. I met so many awesome people during my stay. To be honest, your experience here depends on the current crowd and your roommates - luckily for me my rotation of roommates were the best. The hostel is clean and has decently sized lockers to put all your stuff in. They even have a kitchen with as much as a rice cooker within. The showers aren't the best but if you can figure out the best time to take one they're fine. And you get free breakfast and dinner. The staff is great! They always answer the phone and help you with any questions. My last couple nights there I did have a very inconsiderate roommate but when I asked to move rooms they were super helpful. Sobe offers so many things to do at good prices and they have rentals like towels and bikes. The common room gets lively and fun during meals and before the parties. The hostels in a great location, the beach is only a 5 minute walk and most everything else is also in walking distance. The parties are a good way of meeting people since they go with other hostels as well and have VIP service. My only complaint is the guy who runs the parties is too flirtatious - its overbearing. There's no wifi past the common room. Bring a lock. I also brought a blanket which turned out to be a great idea.

We got off a Caribbean cruise at 9 am and our flight didn't leave until 8pm, so we booked SoBe Hostel for luggage storage and an afternoon nap before we left for the airport. We were with our friends and all of us are over 70. We have never stayed in a hostel but thought it was time to check it out. We were immensely impressed with our check in and even booked a shuttle to the airport. We were invited to stay for dinner but left on the shuttle at 5.15. We had booked a mixed dorm with 4 bunks. We noted that next door was a Ceviche restaurant. That night we headed to Mexico City and stayed at a Hilton in the airport. We had the best of both worlds in one day. Our kids were very proud of us.

Not sure how this place got such great reviews. Staff was friendly but rooms are not worth the price. You can defintely get more for your money worth in different hostels like freehand. The crowd is 18-22 so if you're in that age group than it is some where to consider If you don't mind the lack of hygiene of the overall structure of the hostel.

It is excellent for backpackers and young people. If you older but a young spirit it is good too. We spent our entire days out on the beach or on bus and boat tours. Was nice to get back to the hostel for the night. Breakfast is nice, and if you need dinner that is included in the price too. They have a lot of fun programs for everybody. I had fun meeting nice people around the world. A big plus the hostel is only couple minutes walk from the beach.

A very happy and welcoming place. The staff goes out of their way to make the stay a pleasant and fun one. I love that the offer breakfast and dinner and the bustling atmosphere in the lobby and at the bar. I was only there for a night but would gladly return. Only minus was not the hostel's fault: 2 of my 3 room mates were heavy snorers and people came back in the early morning hours and had very loud tipsy conversations in the hallway.

SoBe Hostel is a good place for the price. The rooms are simple but fine, the location is perfect and the staff really nice. I was by myself and I always felt in security. The free breakfast is good but the dinner really slight.

Everything about this hostel lived up to my expectations, and in some ways exceeded them. It was a lot cleaner than I anticipated. I don't even walk around hotels without shoes on, and I actually took my shoes off in this room. The bathrooms, although closed for cleaning at some inconvenient times, were very clean for the amount of people that go through there. We got back to our room around 3am, and found three of our bunkmates sleeping quietly, and one who was snoring louder than a train. The two of us could not stop laughing at how loud and ridiculous the whole experience was. We couldn't wake up this total stranger, but we could tell that there was no way we were going to sleep with him in the room. All in all, the stay lived up to my expectations. If you need a place to call home for one or two nights, it is not bad. I would not recommend staying for more than a couple nights, since you are not going to sleep well.

Absolutely fell in love with this place. Our experience in Miami would not have been even a fraction as enjoyable if we weren't staying at this hostel. For a little background, I stayed at this hostel with my best friend Patrik. We are both college kids in our early 20s. Most hostel guests were in their 20s, but there were guests of any age. We had never been to Miami and had no idea what to expect, but booked the trip on a whim. The purpose of this hostel is not to have a private vacation with a luxury room, it's to be in an environment where everyone just loves to travel and loves to meet people. In our 3 day stay we met people from over ten different countries and even started hanging out with them for the entirety of the trip! Plus, every night there are specials where you buy a ticket for a VIP treatment at a club in Miami. We truly got to experience Miami nightlife on a budget. I would visit this hostel every year if I can. Ideal for college students who are traveling with a few people or even alone, not if you're looking for a quiet/intimate environment. Love South Beach and SoBe Hostel!!! (Also shout out to my boy Jay!!! Made our stay all the better)

Place is horrible. The worst hostel I have done. Slamming doors and people under influence shouting ALL NIGHT LONG. was here with two friends. The person who was sleeping in our room came back drunk from a party organized by the hostel. In the room in front of us someone who took drugs was shouting like he was going to be killed every 5 4 in the morning. Staff is checking nothing even though they organize parties with cheap drinks and that everybody gets totally drunk. I came downstairs to ask help from the receptionist (there is no security staff) who told me that he actually put the drugged guy in his room. Which kind of establishment accepts people when they are shouting like crazy because under influence ? On my way back to my room someone proposed me to buy drugs. It was enough. Well, actually not. Our drunk roomate was also snoring. When we asked cooperation so that we don’t hear him snoring anymore he became violent. We left the place at 5 and finished our night in our car. Felt safer.
