Richmond Oceanfront Hotel

The hotel is outdated but the cleanliness, staff and location makes up for it. The pool area with access to the beach was very cool.

Fast check in and excellent service when needed ..

Great location. Good price compared to competition. You get what you pay for because it is an otherwise dated motel with no perks, services, amenities, or anything else worth getting excited for.

Hotel was very outdated and creepy looking. Only good thing was easy access to the beach and restuarants.

The hotel was nice, needs major updating but the location was great

NICE PLACE ON THE BEACH LOTS OF STUFF CLOSE BY. NICE BEACH WALK NORTH AND SOUTH BIG PARK TO THE SOUTH WERE THEY HAVE CONCERTS AND EVENTS

The location is great however the rooms need a real severe updating bathroom was cram, floor carpet was old and smelly, and the walls are way too thin I could barely sleep since I heard the conversations of the people next-door to us all night into the next morning. Not much in the way privacy if you’re looking to spend some time with your significant other when you’re here in conversations easily through the walls.

Great location! VERY friendly and helpful staff! Older hotel but staff took pride in keeping it clean. Nice pool and steps away from the beach!

We stayed for 4 nights and will certainly return. While this is not a luxury hotel, the friendliness of the staff and all guests makes up for it. The pool and beach are great and the hotel is close to fun restaurants and shops.

I've stayed at the Richmond many times and I have a nostalgic liking for it. However, the rooms really could use some upgrading. It's an old property, and thats part of its charm, but some issues need to be addressed. The walls are paper thin, you can hear everything in the next room and in the hall. The pipes are incredibly loud. Not that you want to be watching a lot of TV on vacation, but the Richmond has very few channels, its just a little annoying. Having said all that, the rooms are clean, the water pressure in the shower is good, the pool and hottub area is nice and its right on the beach. With a few minor upgrades the Richmond would be top notch. Bottom line, if you get an amazing rate, stay here, if not, look at some of the other nearby properties.

The Richmond Hotel in Miami is a lovely family-run property and a great, affordable option on Collins Avenue. The staff is friendly and kind. The rooms have a retro-style vibe and the property itself is a bit old, but the gorgeous pool area, jacuzzi, backyard patio and proximity to the beach are all that matter! The Richmond is a perfect place to enjoy the best of South Beach without breaking the bank. This is a nice hotel for families or couples. We have stayed there many times and we are always happy to return!

I have stayed at many of the ocean front hotels on Collins and this hotel was my least favorite so far. The sink would not drain, the windows were paper thin and I couldn’t get any sleep due to traffic and noise on Collins. The hotel staff was very nice for the most part. The pool is average. The area closer to the beach remains an overgrown area of weeds. For the price, this hotel is an OK choice. Some of the staff stay out front all night long and talk very loudly, mostly in vulgarities, and this can be heard loud and clear in the rooms facing the street. Twice staff entered my room, once at 10:00pm while I was sleeping because they suspected a problem in the room that turned out to be nothing. The elevator was broken the last day we were there. The water never got very hot in the bath with only the hot water running. I guess overall I was just unimpressed. I was hoping for more, but it was just average. I doubt given a choice I would stay here again. I would spend a little extra money to stay at the South Seas or Marseilles which are relatively comparable but much nicer overall. I think there is a great deal that can be improved upon at The Richmond. It has potential but needs a lot of money invested to make it as classy as other hotels in the area.

Couldn't print me out a copy of bill said they emailed it to me never received the email called them when I return home told me I need to contact Expedia. Our TV didn't work the brought another TV it was so small.

This place is the full-on Miami Beach experience. 1940's Hotel updated the furnishings, carpet, etc so the rooms are comfortable. Bathroom reminded me of my childhood 1950's ranch house. This place is similar to other 1940 hotels on the beach near Lincoln road which we have stayed at in the past.If you are looking for modern or glitz, go elsewhere. If you are looking for cozy with great beach and city access stay here.

I would NEVER stay here again. We moved rooms twice, as the first night a club 2 doors down was blasting music all night -- so loud that the walls were vibrating. The rooms were absolutely freezing. We complained, but nothing was done about it and there is no way to control the temperature yourself. The 2nd room we had had soiled linens, which included a blood stain on the duvet. I asked for the linens to be replaced, but they weren't!!! The bath tub contained long black hair. It was disgusting. I'm a blonde and my husband has very short hair. After walking around barefoot in the room, my feet were black! The phone didn't work in either room. The view ocean room view was a joke. It was an ocean view by a little peak if the palm trees swayed ever so much. It is very dated, with hardly any electrical outlets. I've never written a bad review of any place before. I was compelled, as to save future travels from this disgust and disappointment.

We just spent almost a week at the Richmond, our 5th or 6th stay over the past 8 years. We keep coming back! It is NOT a chain, a modern high rise extravaganza resort. It is a family run Art Deco hotel in a prime location which has kept it's character intact.

Rooms could use some new carpet/flooring. Great vintage property with awesome location and pool and beach access. Staff is great!

Hotel was at a good location in south Miami beach. Got a deal at $99/night, and so not at a bad price. Though the deal included free 'continental breakfast,' this really consisted of just some scrambled eggs and toast. The receipt ironically said 'cold buffet.'

I loved this Hotel. The pool area left a lot to be desired- more like someone's back yard pool than a Beach hotel pool, but the guest rooms were very nice and the staff could not have been more accommodating and friendly. I would definitely stay at Hotel Richmond, again. It is old school Miami, to be sure!

Met some lovely people there and we keep in contact still.
