The only nice thing I can say about this place is the location - the beach right across the street. The towels had yellow streaks. The TV was very small and very old and had very few channels. The room did not have a phone or a clock. We paid for a package - air, hotel, car - and were supposed to stay three nights at this hotel. We left and went to a different hotel for our last night. We paid extra money for a new hotel bc/this hotel was not up to par at all. I do not need a 4 or 5 star hotel. I am pretty low maintenance and just expect a clean, nice, up to date room where I feel safe. I have to admit I was a bit worried about staying there and safety.

we found every night we stay, baby roachs in the room, the bad sheet was very durt and i dont think the change it. the shower had a cold water. we did not stay on main build the sent us to a next build, that wss ok, The price was to high for no service. no parking, had to pay city parking.

The location is amazing. It literally Across the street from the beach.

It is in a family/older couples or individuals area. The room was fine, but the bathroom was a little dreary. However, if you are going to be out all day, this is a great hotel for you! I went with a friend and we only spent nights there and explored Miami in the day time. A little weird smelling. Walls are super thin. I could hear the music playing next door. HOWEVER. It is literally on the beach. 1 minute walk. That makes this hotel invaluable. They also gave free beach towels because of the room fee. There seemed to be nice people around too. Advice to hotel: Please incorporate breakfast or coffee or tea.

Staff was great. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Had issues with orbitz but hotel staff helped me out.

I understand why people complained in other reviews but also this motel is super cheap. And there's lots of Cuban restaurants within a block of it so if you're just looking for a cheap room and not much more this is perfect.

We just wanted to escape the winter for a while... from Cleveland Ohio In the coldest night of the year we froze in the room with no heating, one thin bed cover and the hotel stuff told us that there is no need for heating because it’s “miami” My baby caught a cold Avoid avoid avoid!!!

I'm not a complainer or a crybaby, however, I got to say something about this "such a call Hotel". I found this hotel on Orbits. In past, all hotels I ever booked through them were in excellent conditions. On the pictures, Ocean Surf Hotel showing a nice looking rooms and good looking facility. In reality is absolutely other way around. I payed almost $600 for 7 nights for the room with broken blinds, windows that I was afraid to open due to the conditions that I will might never close then again. My TV set was 20 inches diameter from mid 80's. You can forget about flat screen, but I can only had about 5 local channels. For entire 7 nights they only changed my bed ones. The bathroom had very poor lighting and ventilation, My toilet was shaking. The furniture was terrible with folding chair and one cheap table that you may find at second hand store. The hotel is very old inside and need it renovations. At late evening, there are many drunks or homeless people around it. In the morning, they always short on beach towels and I had to come out by 8am to reserve one beach towel and possibly available beach chair. On the front patio of hotel they had 6 tables with chairs. Two tables are broken and shaking left to right. It is always dirty there by 8-9pm. The Ocean Surf Hotel charging you $10.50 every day as hotel fee for amenities. What kind amenities they have is a big question? The only good thing about Ocean Surf Hotel - is their perfect location right by the beach.

My experience?! Well, I basically should had listened to the reviews here! PLEASE DO NOT waste your money on a ghetto nasty hotel like this one! Unless u don't mind smelly old small hotels! So I booked my room here thinking it was going to be just like the pictures I saw when I booked it plus it said sea view, boy I wanted to run away from that place when I got there I went looking for other hotels even though I couldn't get my $ back,. unfortunately I didn't find one for same day... the only thing nice is that it's close to the beach! BUT the hotel has a weird smell it's old and small. It had an old tv which I never used it, drawers were old and broken! RUN from this place!!!!!

Great price for a hotel directly across from the beach

This hotel was filthy, in a bad part of town, people were hanging out and smoking pot as you walked up the front stairs. The cleaning product they use is atrocious.Hotel is old and needs to be modernized.

The hotel facilities are just OK, and the location next to the beach is OK. However, they don't know anything about Customer Service. Besides what I paid online, I had to pay $20,43 resort fee upon check-in. When I paid at the Front Desk, I gave $20 in cash, and the person at that time told me I could give her the remaining 43 cents later (before I did check out, I was staying 2 nights) Then I went out, I went I came back in the evening of the first night my door wouldn't open. I went to the Front Desk and they told me they locked my door and wouldn't open it again I would pay the 43 cents balance due.

I was very into the art deco style and pink interior. Definitely not the place to stay if you're looking for something fancy, but perfect if you're on a budget. It's right on the beautiful north beach, I loved the neighborhood its in. My only annoyance was getting charged the daily fee for use of chairs and beach towels but then there never being any towels or chairs available.

Enjoyed the closeness to the beach . We enjoyed a beach front room with a balcony . My mother , 93, enjoyed sitting on the balcony and watching the view . The neighborhood was quiet and pleasant ; had stores and restaurants ,conveniently , a block away from the hotel .

Don't book this hotel. Terrible stuff they have. We were waiting for a blanket from the moment we checked in until we checked out.

Close to the beach but everything is outdated and the bathroom is dirty.

I wanted a cheap place, right on the beach, for a 4 day getaway. Obviously, cheap and on the beach are usually contradictory, so my expectations were low coming in. The location IS pretty good: Right across a parking lot from the beach, with the ocean walk in between. Walgreens, CVS, and lots of shops & restaurants within a block or two. Half block from Collins Ave, which means all the buses you could want are close at hand. All that being said, the hotel itself was in iffy shape at best. The staff was wonderful, and always very helpful & responsive. When I checked in, they told me that my room was in the building next door, rather than the one with the hotel name on it. The first room I went to didn't have a fridge, even though I was told by Jose on the phone that all of the rooms had one. They found me another room, which did have a fridge, but it wasn't exactly pretty. The hotel is obviously quite old, and though they do try to keep it clean, it's just old, and they aren't doing anything to make it better. Of course, they know they're getting the cheapest on the beach business, so maybe they don't really want to fix it up and raise rates. The TV was an old ~21" box, and only got about 8 channels in the daytime, and 6 at night. (really!) My window looked out across a pedestrian alley with dumpsters, to another condemned building, with the windows boarded up AND barred! I was here over the super bowl weekend, and didn't want to go party and spend a bunch for t

I knew the hotel would be modest, based on other guest reviews. I suspected they were just overly picky. Stay here if you don't mind if the A/C doesn't work and that the bathroom isn't terribly clean.

Well if you don't mind staying in a room with the bare essentials, then this is the spot for you. I had a single room #19 with the balcony, which was better than the other rooms, but still needs updated. They have a prime location, the view from the room with the balconies are amazing. The beach is amazing, I actually took a nap for a hour or so just laying right on the beach. Other than that, the hotel does need an overhaul, and once they update the place, I'm sure they would get better reviews.. btw, the staff was amazing, and prime location again.. just make sure you request the rooms with the balcony, still very dated, but tolerable because of the Terrance..

1st room the tv was broken.. The phone didn't work.. The beds were hard as a rock... The fridge didn't close and there wasn't a hair dryer.. And the shower was leaking.. The staff Jose was awesome he put us in a different room.. And The 2nd room had updated beds.. but half a hair dryer?? Lol but if your looking for a cheap place just to crash this would be it..
