I rented this room for one night. We did not stay there for the following reason: 1. They don’t have parking and No parking was available in the street ( free parking advertising is not true) 2. Room was not what they advertised. 3. Place needs to be remodel Waste of money

Very dirty and smelly with windows glued shut. Extra large roaches. Information says that there is parking which is not true.

The location is near to water sports activities so I choose this as the price is less compare to other hotels in that area. But there is no front desk available 24 hours they are only available after 2:00 pm. The room is spacious but the bathroom is very small. They can improve a lot and provide better guest experience.

Nice enough place reasonably close to the Cruise Terminal. As requested, our party of 7, including 3 seniors was shown to our ground floor lodging without any problems. Five of us flew in from NY, NJ, and GA and two drove in from Georgia, with the drivers arriving late in the evening. Somehow during our checkout the next morning, a set of keys was misplaced. We left for our cruise unaware that one guest left an iPhone charger behind, we thought we'd settled the key issue. Upon discovering her charger was missing, Denise called Fortuna House and offered to send a self-addressed postage paid envelope for its return. Fortuna's staff would not agree to mail the charger, stating that they didn't want to take that responsibility. For crying out loud!!! They did agree to hold it the charger and someone could pick it up. However, on Fri no one answered the door. (to be fair, I'm not sure that Denise had discussed the pickup arrangement with Fortuna's Staff). The errant keys are on their way back to Fortuna House, and our family enjoyed our pre-cruise time together. If you're looking for just basic accommodations, Fortuna House will suit you just fine!

Good A/C. DISH TV. Comfy place for however long your stay is.

The Fortuna House was okay... It could use some help in a few areas like having the kitchen on point. I was left asking for several things that are found in other extended stay hotels. the mattress was very uncomfortable as were the linens. The pull out bed was frustrating and there mattress protector was very gross. The pillows were flat and cheap as well. Bed linens 101 isn't difficult to pass. The Fortuna House decorated their rooms in the cheapest materials available from IKEA. The floors are authentic and original for the 1925 building, however, they are in need of restoration. They're cracked and the flooring is wavy. The hangers were consistent of several other stays left overs. Very disorderly, So ugly The dishes were mismatched as well as the silverware and previous guests left over food containers. The dish network is pretty basic. There's a lot of construction with high rising condos going on in the area and on the street. This is a residential neighborhood and the Fortuna House appears to be the only one of its kind. The good thing was the location. It's really easy to get around and is about a $7-10 Lyft ride to south beach. My conclusion is that I was disappointed and ended my stay early.

So the pictures and the actual are two completely different things. I rented 3 different rooms for myself and my employees for 3 days thinking it was a good pricing at 3 stars. This is like a 2 star hotel and that's being nice. It's not even a hotel. It's an apartment complex.. The lobby is the landlord's apartment. She doesn't even let you in. The inconsistency of this place is crazy. One room didn't even have a door knob, it had a handle screwed in. Couple rooms, The tv's are 15 computer monitors. They only allow one towel per room and you have to go fetch more. No room cleaning. The bathroom was so gross. One of the rooms it had a ditch in the tub like a valley. Futures are broken, etc. it was so bad that the last day I was there I just decided to pay for a totally different hotel. So like the subject says, do yourself a favor and pay an extra $10 for something 100 better

The hotel was great, although the front desk was kind of different from a regular hotel. I recommend this hotel if you are looking for something close to the design district

It is practical for someone who would like a place to stay in the Edgewater/ Design District area. However, my main complaint is that it was too expensive for what we were getting. I understand it was the holiday period, and I would consider staying again but I would not pay more that $150/ night for this even in the high season. Street parking at night was not always easy.

it was a great experience I would like to visit there another time I know what to expect and its good hospitality

Thanks for staying with us. We’re glad you enjoyed our great location near many of Miami’s principal destinations, as well as our comfortable rooms, cool air conditioner, and fee satellite TV. All of our spacious studios have a full kitchen, making Fortuna House the ideal place for short or long term stays.

Thank you for your feedback. We’re glad you enjoyed our great location close to South Beach, Downtown, Wynwood, and many of Miami’s top destinations. Fortuna House, with its old fashioned charm and affordable rates, really is one of a kind in a zone that is increasingly dominated by new construction luxury high-rises. The studios have been accoutered mostly with Ikea furnishings, as they provide a warm, modern, casual vibe that is popular in the Miami/Midtown/South Beach area. Our rooms have all been renovated in the last 5 years, and each is decorated a little differently. Most of our guests find our bedding comfortable, but because people have different sleeping preferences, it is impossible to please everyone. We wish you had informed us of your dissatisfaction; we could have tried to relocate you to a different room where the bed and the styling of the room was more to your liking.
