According to Orbitz I was supposed to be charged $67.80 at the property. The SLS charged me $367.80. Right at check-in. I didn’t use any of their amenities,but they charge me $150 per day extra upon arrival. This is outrageous!!
Great place to stay!
I paid extra for a balcony it was right under the restaurant kitchen vent below lots of smoke. Pool was closed on Saturday for a private event. And at last we had a lizard running around the room.
I really enjoyed the pool area and how relaxing it was. The hotel was not too busy, which allowed me the ability to relax. The hotel staff was also amazing, friendly, and went out of their way to be helpful. I had a really good time and would stay again. I do wish some of the options at the hotel were a bit more reasonable though. Like $9 for a side of pork bacon at breakfast with a special Miami tax added on and tip added on, is not really necessary.
SLS is located in a perfect location. Lots of fun bars nearby, a short drive to the beach, and a clean safe neighborhood. Bars around the hotel stayed open late with the hotel itself offering a fun atmosphere. My only issue was short term parking. Parking on the street was impossible.
I’ve always heard that SLS properties were nice and upon looking online, thought this would be fine for my boyfriend and I for two nights. I was shocked once we arrived! The lobby is nice... once you enter the elevators, there are random people staring at you, then you enter the floor and it is very dark with black and red. Then, our room- mirrors EVERYWHERE! Over the bed, both sides of the bed, and they offer a “sex kit” with a battery operated vibrator, etc etc. For the actual room- the door can only be closed to the toilet OR the shower. When we used the shower, it didn’t drain into the shower, it overflowed into the bathroom. The sink had two heads one at the bottom and top of the faucet and neither produced cold water, only hot. There were no bedside tables. The bed faced the wall, not the balcony we paid extra to have. On top of it all- the fire alarm went off at 4:15 AM. I never ever have written a review but felt I needed to share all of this so someone else does not make the same mistake as we did. The staff were nice! And the lobby and website seems nice enough. So so bizarre. Will avoid SLS properties at all costs moving forward.
This property is beautiful the second you're pulling into it. The front desk is extremely helpful and the hotel is gorgeous in general. When i got there, front desk upgraded me to a balcony room with no extra charge and gave me a complimentary champagne bottle because it was my bf's birthday. The room was great not to mention the view.
Would be happy to come back again! Really nice hotel and I don`t understand why some reviews have sometimes negative. It is perfect stay!
