The host was incredible. She made me an amazing breakfast. She also provided a history of the house. The bed was super comfortable. I would highly recommend, if you are in or near Menomonie, WI, that you choose to stay there.

Beautiful house with historic Menomonie charm. We loved the history lesson about the grounds and area from the Inn Keeper, Stephanie. Breakfast was unique and very good.

A house from the 1800's, a true Bed and Breakfast, nicely furnished with ample Parlour and Living Room areas to peruse many books or play games. The two breakfasts we had were both wonderful, and sitting and talking with other visitors was the best part. No TV's, bravo! Walking areas outside the door, wonderful porch to sit on, a very relaxed setting. Menomonie is small so nothing is very far away. Well done, Stephanie!

Clean and charming

Oaklawn is a beautiful historic house, immaculately maintained, and spotlessly clean. Stephanie is an amazing host and she serves up a delicious breakfast. I highly recommend this property, it had everything I want in a bed and breakfast.

Absolutely Amazing!

Absolutely amazing! Owner shared the history of the area and of the beautiful home! She has a number of books about the area including the logging history and the history of the Mablel Tainter Theater. We have already ordered a book of the logging that she showed us. We would definitely recommend this B&B! It would be a big mistake not to stay if you are in the area!

The Oaklawn definitely exceeded my expectations. I enjoyed several hours on the screen porch relaxing and watching the sunset. My room was beautiful and very comfortable. Breakfast was delicious and I enjoyed talking with the other couples who were staying there. I could not say enough about how pleased I was with the whole experience

Greeted warmly by owner, Stephanie, who made us feel right at home. Happily explained the history of the home and the area around. Beautifully appointed rooms and furnishings. Accommodations for late nighters or early risers are available in the dining room. Bedroom is comfortable and elegant. Overall, quite pleased!

I had a fantastic stay at this beautiful property. Stephanie is doing a wonderful job, I loved the design and vision, the history of the house and her passion for preserving and sharing it. The bed was super comfortable, my room was beautiful and clean and water pressure was awesome. It was my first experience staying at a bed and breakfast and honestly it was amazing. The breakfast included is restaurant like, so different from the typical hotel food. I wished I stayed more days and I would definitely stay here again when I’m in town. Thank you, Stephanie!

An experience better than expected!

The experience at Oaklawn Inn was a lot better than expected. The room and the whole building were clean, organized, in good repair, and decorated beautifully. I was surprised by the number of books available on the numerous bookshelves. The area was quiet, which is important if you want to relax away from the noise of a big city. The best part of our stay was the discussions we had with the innkeeper. Stephanie is friendly, informative, cosmopolitan, and an excellent conversationalist. Both mornings, after enjoying an elaborate and tasty breakfast, we spent two hours (yes, two hours) discussing a large number of interesting topics. On the second day, we were lucky to have another guest participate, which made the experience even better. If you travel in the area, I think that staying at Oaklawn Inn might be your best choice!
