Check in code did not work, and it took about an hour to finally get in with a new code from a gentleman who called and was gruff and unkind. Initial view outside home was unkept- full trash on curb, mailbox overflowing, torn flag, dirty doors and walkways. Area is very rundown and unsafe feeling but two blocks away is fine but we had no trouble. Inside was quite dirty- footprints on walls, all walls and baseboards needed scrubbed, floor made socks black in minutes, stained couch, stove was so dirty inside and out that when we went to use oven it smoked out the house, fridge was leaking water extensively and bottom drawers inoperable, half of bulbs were removed or out, rest were super dim, showers leaked, bathrooms were very run down and grout was in need of bleaching. Though theres a photo of bunkbeds in the listing, there are not actually any bunkbeds on the property, so we were short a bed. Fence is falling down in yard and dogs could easily go into back neighbors property. Next door neighbors keep their dogs out 24/7 and they are agressive and bark the entire time you are outside. I have never had a bad VRBO stay, so this was a pretty extreme fail. I asked to check out 2 days early for our 3 day stay and they spent all day deciding, then said theyd refund me one night thats it. I sent photos, i communicated before and during trip. We stayed because we couldnt afford to pay for 2 places, and hotels and vrbos were fully booked. Photos wont load to share. Its bad!
