A convenient location, a tram-ride from most places and eating and drinking establishments within cooee.
Free parking is a bonus; take note of the first-come first park scenario.
Welcoming reception is great, with a map in hand and directions of places to investigate.
A trot upstairs or brave the elevator, room with a partial view and opening windows which are becoming a rarity.
Good sizes but - it says 2-room apartment and they are indeed. Clean amenities however the internet fell over through the evening..........and the *rumble* <<<
We travel from Canberra to Melbourne for the AFL indigenous round (go the mighty Tiges!!). We used to stay at the place next door, however it is a bit of a dump. So, we decided to try Albert Heights - this place did not disappoint! Clean, spacious rooms with a sitting room to hang out in. Friendly and helpful staff, free parking and a lovely ferny courtyard to sit and enjoy a well earned glass of wine after a day of walking around the city. See you next year Albert Heights, and thankyou.
Stayed here for 3 nights. Apartments are in a great location, but the whole place is tired and dated, too expensive for what it is. Also apartment was not serviced during our 3 night stay. Traffic noise and noisy guests were a big problem during our stay. Staff are helpful and very friendly but other than that I'm afraid there's very little positive things to say. The whole place smelled funny, the carpets were wet (pretty sure they were mouldy too), the mirror over the bathroom sink had weird stains on it and was not cleaned. However, the worst was that they were carrying out repairs on the apartment next door at 1am on all the three nights we were there! This included drilling into the walls, and what sounded like a jackhammer. At 1 in the morning! I mean really?! Positives: Location Free parking Great beds Great shower Negatives: Noise - too much traffic noise, noisy guests, repairs being carried out at 1am! Cigarette smoking guests in the courtyard - the smoke comes up all the way into the room Wet, mouldy carpets Tired, dated building Not serviced everyday Dirty mirrors Dirty bathroom/shower TV not working Aircon stuck at 25C, unable to change it Honestly, I don't mind paying a little more if they fixed this place up and made the windows soundproof and made the whole place smoke-free. The location is great, walking distance to the CBD, IMAX, the museum etc.
These apartments are in a great location close to MCG and IGA across the road. Friendly accomodating staff. Unfortunately very tired looking building in need of an update slightly over priced for what it is.
A friend and I were looking for reasonably priced accom for one night in the city as we were attending the Paul McCartney concert. We had a 2 bed apartment for $255, which was very reasonable. Check in was quick and very friendly. The apartment is a little dated in appearance, but was very clean and had everything we needed - air con, TV, plenty of hot water. My bed was comfy and I slept well, One tip, if you don't like traffic noise, ask for an apartment at the back - we were at the front and there was a bit of traffic noise. Would stay again and good to know this place is so close to everything. Free wifi worked well and was appreciated.
The location is perfect for tennis and the MCG as well as the compulsory shopping trip into the CBD. The apartment is clean and the air conditioning works perfectly, particularly after a long day of shopping or exploring the attractions of Smith and Brunswick Streets We will keep on staying at Albert Heights whenever we go to Melbourne. Definitely recommended.
The apartments are a little dated, but they are clean and very well appointed. We were at the front of the complex and heard almost no road noise. Separate lounge, kitchen and bedroom makes for an easy extended stay. Microwave, good sized fridge, cook top as well as the pots, pans & cutlery makes for a value stay. 50 meters to an IGA store and 100 meters to a tram stop, 200 meters to a pub, McDonalds and other shops tops it off. 4Gb WiFi allowance is more than enough. Parking is outdoor off street and is on a first in best dressed basis.
The apartments are a little tired inside, but are very clean and there is plenty of space. The tram is a five minute walk, and it is a 15 minute walk to Bourke Street, where there are endless cafes and restaurants. There is a convenient small supermarket and a couple of small restaurants across the road (pizza, pasta and fish and chips). The apartments are a 15 minute walk to the MCG, which is very convenient. The price is great considering the location. The highlight was the very friendly staff; even though we were running late on arrival and the desk was due to close, the staff member stayed behind to check us in and was very helpful on our arrival. I would definitely stay again.
When Tony was flown from Albury to Melbourne in a serious condition for treatment at St. Vincent's Hospital, Joy travelled to Melbourne from Wodonga so that she could be near the hospital when Tony was operated on, and during his recovery. Reception was extremely helpful and very understanding. The place was spotless, and a supermarket and restaurants were just over the road. The bed was very comfortable and all facilities in the apartment were in good order, with a nice bathroom and great shower. Tony stayed at the apartment the day he was released from hospital. Highly recommended
I had the privilege of having a short stay at these Apartments as a family member was hospitalized in the area. I found the apartment was clean and comfortable. The staff was very friendly from Reception to cleaning staff. The apartments are close to many hospitals in the area and walking distance to the MCG. There are trams a block away that will take you into the CBD. Fitzroy Gardens are close by. The apartment was well equipped with all that you would need including pots and pans, cutlery, crockery and glasses to name a few of the items. Beds were comfortable and clean.
