Passing thru Medina with a bike tour, there were no other options. We understood from the outset that this is an older, budget motel, so our expectations were low. The positives: a decent mattress, clean, convenient. The less-than-positive aspects: no drinking cups in the room; a very inadequate (for a motel) door lock, with no security latches. Since it opened to the outdoors, this made us a little nervous. A nice new toilet, but it wasn't bolted tightly to the floor, and as a result had a pretty significant wobble. Not a terrible experience, but a few simple improvements could make a big difference.
Property is a little dated, but the rooms are clean and quiet, well maintained. All the amenities required; desk, fridge, coffee pot, microwave, a/c, wi-fi, & large flat screen TV. Small bathroom, not much room, but clean and functional. Daily cleaning service. Pet friendly, we had 3 dogs, 2 little ones and one big one. Plenty of room for all three. Quiet, didn't hear my neighbors or any traffic at night. Dunkin Donuts across the street. Gas and convenience store catty corner to the hotel. Busy intersection (relatively during the day) no drama at night. Rite-Aid on the other corner. Downtown Medina (pronounced Mah-Dine-Ah - oh, okay) is only two minutes north with lots of quaint places to dine. 15 minutes south of Lake Ontario.
Spent 11 nights and days bicycling around Lake Ontario and Erie Canal staying at motels. This was one of the best rooms we had. Very clean and large room with great shower and clean refrigerator. Great location from canal with numerous places to eat within walking distance. Friendly and welcoming staff.
First off we had 3 rooms between our group. Two of the rooms (rooms 5 & 6) had showers stalls. The beds in these rooms were also very bouncy/soft. The other room (room 7) had a well lit bathtub/shower combo and very hard/firm beds. Positives: Friendly staff, clean rooms, good water pressure. Fair price for the area. Negatives: Rooms need minor repairs (peeling wall paper and paint, etc), bathtub/ shower combo made a 'scream' sound when water was on, shower stalls were very dark when the curtain is closed and the beds were not comfortable in any of the rooms.
Room was clean, the staff was friendly, casual and helpful. I felt safe there. So I give it high marks. Also liked the store, gas station and Dunkin Doughnuts across the stree. This from a guy that doesn't like motels, would otherwise choose the most expensive option.
A hook up hotel lol. . I can't see what there base is.. extended stay for locals, family visits ? Hook ups ? Value priced only game in town. . Kinda run down but it will do in a pinch. .. stayed here due to biz..would only repeat under that scenario ..
I was pleasantly surprised with the Dollinger Courtyard. From the reviews I had read on trip advisor, previous guests had painted a bleak picture of the motel's condition. True, the motel building is not in terrific shape but it is neat and pretty well-maintained. It is a simple, no-frills type of motel. If you're looking for all the comforts of home, drive 20-30 minutes away to the nearest hotel. The rooms we reserved were comfortable and clean. Our rooms did not have any stale smells or faulty bathroom facilities. The Dollinger Courtyard may not be the Waldorf Astoria, but it is reasonably priced (for being the only motel in Medina) and quite clean in my opinion. I would stay there again if I was in the area.
I found Dollinger's to be clean, well kept, centrally located. Staff is professional, friendly, and efficient. What I liked most was the location because any business that needed to be done in Medina was only a few minutes away. I liked the large clear TV, and the way the room was arranged. The bed was comfortable and the maid service was fast. I appreciated the in room coffee along with the refrigerator and microwave.
My sister and I stayed at the Motel, in Medina,NY. We found the room to be more than adequate. The beds were very comfortable and the room was clean. The owner and staff were very nice. We are here for business and cannot find an apartment. The owner has "bent over backwards" to help us and make our stay, in Medina, comfortable and relaxing. We thank them for their assistance.
The room had a stale smell. The shower was dark. The room was freezing. This place is in bad need of some serious TLC both the motel and it's staff...There was so much noise from all the traffic I barely got any sleep at all.
