My husband and I have been staying at Dollinger's for several years, always between Oct/Nov (fishing season). We've always paid the same price and the staff has always been friendly. This year, I booked my reservation for late October, in July. When I booked my reservation, they confirmed the price was the same price I've always paid. When I arrived to check in, the guy working at the desk advised the rate was $20 more per night than what I was quoted because "they raised their rates for fishing season". I understand if they raise their rates during busy seasons. People who book reservations AFTER the rates are raised, should be charged the higher rate, however, people who booked their reservation months in advance, should be honored the price they were quoted. After refusing to pay the higher price, demanding he call a manager, they did agree to honor the original rate. Between the issues with the rate and the black mold on the shower curtain, this stay was not one of the better ones we've had at this location.
The rooms are very clean, completely bug free, and they have a really friendly staff. The place is outdated a bit. They give away free small bags of ice, which is nice for your cooler while traveling. Free coffee in lobby. The motor inn in Albion is a lot nicer than the one in Medina. We were in town visiting family. One room has 3 beds in it which was convenient and exactly what we needed. I recommend this place if you don't want to spend a lot of money. We would absolutely stay here again!!
We stayed at Dollingers Motor Inn in Albion for 3 nights. From the moment that Virginia checked us in, we felt like family. She was incredibly friendly and very helpful, as we had never visited the area before. Later in the evening, we had the pleasure of meeting Jamie, who was also incredibly personable. Carol did such a wonderful job cleaning our room every day, you would have never known that the tornado that is 2 women were staying in here ;) The room was comfortable, clean, reasonably priced, and in the perfect location for our needs....but it was truly these 3 ladies that made our stay an enjoyable one. We plan to return every year and truly hope to see Ginny, Jamie and Carol again. Many thanks, ladies! from Kristie and Susan
We were attending a retirement party in Middleport where there are no motels. We didnt want to drive the 40 miles to Batavia to stay. This motel was clean, neat, and the bed was comfortable. It was five minutes from our destination and for the price was more than adequate.
We use Dollinger's Motor Inn every time we go to New York Fishing. We love the check in and check out convenience. The rooms are clean, and there is a refridgerator, microwave, coffee pot, soft mattress, comfortable sized bathroom, and we park right in front of our door. Dollinger's is great!!!
I was in town for a family emergency, and my options were limited. I was told at check-in that this was the "nicer" of the two Dollinger properties in Albion. This is an older property in the style of a motor inn. The room was clean, although it smelled a bit damp. There was a refrigerator and microwave and a grocery store within walking distance. I received plenty of towels. Overall, my experience was better than I expected when I first viewed the property.
Found this place online when organizing a 10-man ride of the Erie Canal. It's about as good as it gets for a locally-owned motel in an out-of-the-way place. It's a mile or so off the trail, but the ride is easy. The motel is old, but well-maintained, set far back off the street with a supermarket and drug store next door. The rooms are small, but clean. Many have roll-away beds for extra guests. Check-in was easy at about 5:00 pm, but shortly after, the desk clerk locked up the office and left. There is an outside phone if necessary to contact someone. One unusual touch-bags of ice are free. I would stay here again.
Nice hotel used in passing through from rochester to Niagra falls. Fits basic hotel needs, If your looking for a more prestige hotel you will not find in this area. Beds comfortable, rooms nice, frig, coffee maker, room clean, groc store,fast-food close. Staff very nice. Would stay again.
When kayaking the canal and needing an overnight we found this place. Nobody in the office. Had to call the other Dollingers to check in. Found the self check in like following instructions to get into a speakeasy, (psst on the downlow) which was kind of fun. We found the room well maintained and comparible to a chain we'd spent the four previous nights at by Buffalo airport. I'm heading back to continue paddling the canal in August and hope to stay again.
There are actually 2 hotels with similar names, owned by the same people. The check in is at the main location, which was just down the street. The hotel was a "strip" type hotel, single story. Even though it was just off the main street through town, it was very quiet and peaceful. The room was comfortable and fairly spacious. Shower flow was good. I don't remember how much we paid (reading the other reviews sounded much higher than we paid!), but it was reasonable to other hotels we found. Would recommend checking them out.
