Oceano Palace Beach Hotel

3.5 out of 5.0

Recent guest reviews

The staff is welcoming and helpful, the rooms are well-appointed, although our toilet lid wouldn't stay up and the bathroom door wouldn't stay closed unless fully engaged. Free Wi-fi in room, 2 English-speaking channels on TV, but both are Fox. Our room faced the ocean and the pool and was quite noisy, as various bands at various levels of musical expertise played on the beach by the hotel all day. Surprising at first but it didn't bother us. The restaurant on the premises has the most welcoming and considerate staff. The food is typical Mexican, and both buffet and menu choices are offered. Every meal including breakfast happens to the sounds of an entertainer and people who get up and dance.

The staff was very nice. the rooms were clean.friendly service I would recommend this to my friend.

Very comfortable rooms secure and easy to find everything, close to many shops and restaurants and stores.

Loved the location right in the beach! Great breakfast!

Great , very convinience, good sun set view, goos restaurant location, nice bar, quick check in process,

I was pleasantly surprised with the location of this hotel. Right on the beach. The private beach is small, but big enough. I really liked its central location on the main drag. Lots of restaurants, everything in walking distance. The room was beautiful, large and clean. More like a suite than just a regular room. One drawback: we had the city view, which was fantastic but the rooms are not very soundproof. Maybe it was because it was a Friday but the street below had a concert going until 2am, and I couldn't sleep. I should have just went down and enjoyed the music! But maybe next time I'd book an ocean view to avoid that problem. Also the parking lot is completely secure, which was an added bonus since we drove

Nice place in a great location , staff are very helpful and can speak English.

People are great and easy to get everywhere from hotel good location. Drinks were made right and rooms always clean as was the hotel.

we upgraded to a room with kitchen facilities.. we did not get a king bed but instead were told 2 double beds only to find out it was 1 double and 2 singles. we were in room 422 {disaster} music downstairs was diabolical to say the least from 8am to 6pm LOUD LOUD ALL DAY LONG...mexican mostly which i enjoy but was so loud every day. I asked downstairs for a pillowtop please as the bed was so hard impossible to sleep. during the day i asked 2 more times and then they sent 2 males to room who took away the mattress and replaced it with another of the same quality {hard}. We went to walmart and purchased eggshell topper ourselves. day 3. air conditioner leaked and stopped...water was running down the wall onto the floor we put down a towel, told front desk..they came up and got it going again and the leak continued. Weather was 86 dec with full blown humidity..room became steamed up almost immediately maid came up with a mop as the floor was wet. Hot plate in kitchen didnt work..television cable didnt fit..phone wasnt working in the room or they just ignored the ringing. Now the pool area..No.1... there is no swim up bar its been down with padlocks rusted for a long while. Middle circle pool was inoperable as the ladder BROKE ...I ordered a glass of wine and was told they dont have any..We did not eat at all in the restaurant as they had no wine for dinner at all. Ordering anything at the pool yu had to have money to pay nothing could be charged to your room. Loud music the entire time at the pool was unbearable..then came the weekend ...the hotel filled to max with families and children mostly mexican with noise and more noise..we had 6 children in the room next to us..all night noise banging doors no sleep at all was possible...they all left sunday.....very little english was spoken even the conscierge could not help giving directions to anywhere...outside the front entrance people were working 24/7 on redoing a parking lot for the hotel..more noise and dust coming/going..we were not the only dissapointed people..there were many others..we would not go back to this hotel ever again in fact i could say that this is the worse experience in our travel to mexico ever. Oh one more thing...they started to plaster around the pool area at 5pm..obviously no pools could be used unless yu wanted white feet..I took many pix of this..wheelbarrow full of cement and sheets placed round pools which of course yu could stand on or climb over thats if yu could stand all the white dust up your nose. We were ready to leave3 days to the end of vacation. No comfort in the room..plastic chairs hard beds..never again.

It is a cheap hotel overall, customer service was horrible staff was asking sarcastic and ride with me and my girlfriend. Found dead cockroach in my room too

It's was good for the price did not have any issues.

Overall stay was excellent with the exception of the following 1 beds kinda hard 2 television not functioning 3 wifi would expire occasionally Definitely will be in my choices next time when I'm in town which is often

Great! Awsome hotel went there in a business trip and the food and the rooms were great

The main concern about this hotel is that is no ice around, no refrigerador in the room, and not even cold bottle of water, they give you the water warm and from the faucet, the employees are rude, and if you don't show the dollars for gratuities they even bother on clean the table, is too sad to see how in my own country and with my own people,is a lot of discrimination, I paid all inclusive with ocean view, and I ended up eating from the restaurant next block, because their food was discasting,

i like the location of this hotel and the staff was nice . till next time :)

Good location! Close to malecon and in zona dorada where all the clubs and restaurants are! Except when I went, there was construction. Overall, great hotel!

My trip to Mazatlan was great. Hotel was great ocean view and great people :)

excellent location, friendly staff very cleaning room nice view balcony to the beach and pool nice buffet, by pool live music buffet, open 7 AM< ,stay here abril 17 to 29 ,2015 thank you good service back soon, , berto h & family

Inexpensive and a five star hotel. great ambiance and clean will be back

Location was good, staff was friendly, however the all inclusive plan was ok and a little confusing. All in all worth the money spent.
