Stayed here twice over the last few weeks and I must complement the staff on making our stay a very good experience. This is a nice modern hotel down by the harbour in Westport. Rooms and bright clean and nicely decorated. The hotel has a fantastic swimming pool, Bar and a 4th floor restrauant that serves a massive breakfast. Thanks to all the staff for making our stay a great experience . Frank C
We really enjoyed our one night here and were sorry not to stay longer. The room was very clean, comfortable and a good size. We didn't upgrade to a harbour view so looked out on the car park but views from the front are fabulous including from the fourth floor restaurant. Food was excellent and the cooked breakfast is freshly prepared- such a refreshing change! The staff were friendly and helpful and there's free wifi. Good location for visiting Croagh Patrick.
My husband and I used the Westport Coast Hotel as a base for our stay in Co Mayo. The hotel itself was a significant part of our holiday. The staff in all areas of the hotel were very professional and made us feel very welcome. Niamh, in reception and Gina, in the restaurant, deserve a special mention. Our room was front facing with a great view and met our expectations. A fault that arose with our toilet was attended to very quickly. We considered the food in both the bistro and the restaurant to be of a high standard. The breakfast buffet was varied with hot food cooked to order. We were on a deal with two dinners included-the standard of these surpassed our expectations-varied menus with creatively prepared and well presented dishes.
Originally planned to stay for 2 nights and ended up adding a 3rd. Lovely staff at reception, grand rooms, nice to have a spa / mini pool for the price. Great location for Croagh Patrick and the Western Green Way. Had lunch in the bar one afternoon and it was nice and the waiting staff were very good. Difficult to get a drink at the bar when the evening rush came in for food. Maybe an extra member of staff to look after customers at the bar who may not be having food or are waiting for a free table (as we were). Having said that, nobody died of thirst and we loved our stay.
We had a nice time in the Westport Coast Hotel this weekend. The hotel is in the Quay area of Westport - a mile or so outside the town. The Quay was a large Celtic Tiger development that was probably a bit over ambitious with a less than perfect build quality and design as evidenced by the unsatisfactory car park. This can be seen in some of the fittings such as the doors and skirting boards and thin walls. The current owners have worked very hard to overcome these shortcomings and have created a very nice hotel. It has recently been refurbished to a high standard. The bedrooms work. Comfy bed, great shower, good wifi. Only issue there are thin walls and no face cloths. Had dinner one night - it was included and was good as was the breakfast. The spa looked great. A significant part of the hotel frontage is given over to the bar with a large outdoor area which can be noisy. The bar was busy and it was hard to get served or make eye contact with the bar man. So, a few nits apart, a nice place to stay!
Reception during check in was flawless and pleasant. Our room was clean and well appointed. While our view was perhaps not the most desirable toward the back of the hotel. However, we had been enjoying Ireland's scenery throughout the day that while sleeping the view was certainly not important. Dinner at the hotel was an absolute treat. The service ran like clockwork. No detail was overlooked. Both Breakfast and dinner were absolutely superb. Truly a treat not only for the tastebuds but the eyes as well. Beautiful plating. Thank you for such a great experience. The pool is also very lovely! Location absolutely devine, right at the harbour. Charming little stores and bars nearby. When in doubt, do yourself a favour and stay here.
arrived late due to our own fault the staff are welcoming and friendly. we stayed in a waterfront room lovely view - but not quiet at night Staff: friendly may need to smile a bit more Room: nice view clean but not quiet Location: If you want to see Westport it is a bit far out Noise: Unfortunately we were facing the waterfront and there was music playing until all hours did not get a great sleep at all. Ask before you book if there is a live band or festival or wedding on if you like to get a good nights rest Management: main management friendly Staff: need to smile and interact more with customers we are there on vacation not to feel that we are in the way! that applies to the staff in the main restaurant not the other parts of the hotel Food: wide variety on menu which will cater for all The Quay well this is a area of small shops and a lot of restaurants, shops etc are closed down or to let. Eating in the hotel at certain times of the year is your only option. Addendum: Nice hotel, nice staff and good food. Suitable for couples, families or larger groups just ensure you know if there is live music!!! 3 stars due to lack of sleep staff need to be friendlier to customers in main restaurant nothing much to do on the quay due to many places closed or to let champagne c
I have just got off the phone from my parents. They had an amazing time down in this hotel. They were so happy with their gift for their Anniversary. Thanks so much. They have had a tough year and were delighted with the break. They couldn't say enough about the hotel, staff and facilites. I will definitively be visiting myself and passing on all the info to all our friends. They said the food was amazing, staff from front of house to res to housekeeping were great. Facilities were lovely. Pool sauna everything brilliant Thanks again
I have to say this hotel and staff are top class. We stayed there for 2 nights midweek and from the time we arrived until book out time all the staff from reception, resturant and accommodation couldn't have done anymore to make our stay more enjoyable. We will be back again and would highly recommend this hotel to everyone.
We had a great 2night stay at the Westport Coast Hotel, which overlooks the scenic Clew Bay. Being just a 2min drive to Westport House and just over 5 mins to the picturesque town centre it is ideally situated. The in house swimming pool, thermal rooms and Spa are the ideal combination for pure relaxation. Oh and there is free Netflix on the room Tele.
